The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

Phantom Hourglass - video guide

Our video guide to Link's latest legend

Heart Containers

No pieces of heart this time, just whole containers! Up to 13 extra can be nabbed - here are the ones you can't get by beating bosses.

Molida Island - Score more than 2000 points in shooting range game.

Masked Ship - Beedle's assistant randomly appears on the map. He'll sell you one.

Bannan Island - The Wayfarer will give you a heart container if you fulfill his mermaid fantasy. First talk to him. Then kill all the enemies on the island. Talk again. Head outside and you'll briefly see a mermaid in the water just below his house. Hit her with the boomerang, talk to the Wayfarer and then to Linebeck. Then talk to the Wayfarer again. Now you have a rod. Land Neptoona, a real mermaid, and you'll get this too-much-trouble heart.

Traveler's Ship (NW sea) - Hit the guy 100 times (yeesh).

Island Shop - After you have Bombchus, buy a Bombchu bag from a shop (we did it on Mercay Island). A heart container will replace the Bombchu bag.

Maze Island - Near the end of the game you can beat the maze on expert for a heart.

Power Gems

There are 20 of each gem. After 10 you can visit Spirit Island for a boost in each category. Power imbues your sword with fire, Wisdom ups your shield strength and Courage sends blasts of energy out of your sword (a nice nod to the first Zelda). Note that some won't appear/can't be grabbed until a certain point in the game. Odds are you'll find most on your own.
