Konami is celebrating 15 years of Suikoden with a series of new arrangement albums for vocals and piano. The first album has been announced for January 2010, and will feature two songs from each game in the series, one redone with a vocalist and the other in a piano format. The Suikoden series has a long history of excellence in the music department, so fans should have a lot to look forward to.

Highlights include Marble Saga: Kororinpa (Wii), Brandish: Dark Revenant (PSP import), Dengeki Gakuen RPG: Cross of Venus (DS import), TrackMania DS, Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure (DS), Suikoden Tierkreis (DS), Super Robot Taisen K (DS import), and Rei Choaniki (PSP import).
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars wasn't the only big Nintendo DS game released on March 17th. Konami announced on Tuesday that Suikoden Tierkreis, the first installment in the RPG series to be exclusively released on the DS, had shipped to retailers in the United States.

Suikoden: Tierkreis will expand the bounds of the handheld RPG as players journey with a variety of characters while exploring exotic locations and cultures across the game's universe of parallel worlds.
Konami has been bundling soundtracks, posters, and other goods with their DS game releases in Japan, which has been frustrating for those who wish to import these additional items separately from the Japanese version of the game. Thankfully, Konami composer Norikazu Miura has confirmed that at least Suikoden Tierkreis' soundtrack will have a separate release. Konami is expediting Suikoden: Tierkreis' localization. We already have some screens of the English build which is on track for release in North America this March, around three months after the Nintendo DS game comes out in Japan. Your quest in Suikoden: Tierkreis is to gather the 108 Stars of Destiny (again) to overthrow One King who wants to wreck the universe.
Suikoden Tierkreis has recently been rated by the ESRB, at the very least confirming Konami's intentions to release the game in North America.
Suikoden Tierkreis is scheduled to come out in Japan on December 18 and Star of Destiny seekers won't have to wait a year to play it in English. I spoke with a representative from Konami Computer Entertainment America who informed me they are already working on localizing the DS game. It's on target for "early 2009? which translates into Q1 2009. As long as progress steadily continues we should see Suikoden Tierkreis in North America this winter.
