A new Star Wars: The Force Unleashed web documentary from the folks at LucasArts focuses on some of the game's central characters and, in particular, Darth Vader's secret pupil, known only as the Apprentice.
We were absolutely pumped about taking charge of this mysterious new character and wreaking Sith-style misery on a massive scale across the galaxy, but after learning more about Vader's boy in training, we're a little less enthusiastic. He just seems like he's going to be a bit too, well, nice.
Take a look at the movie below and decide for yourself:
So, not only will the Apprentice go mushy over Imperial pilot lady Juno Eclipse, but he's also accompanied by a "comic sidekick" - Proxy the droid. Love and laughs are all well and good, but we were hoping that dabbling in the dark side of the Force would mostly involve slaughtering Jedi younglings and the like. Y'know, doing dark stuff.
And excuse us for being ignorant in the ways of Star Wars protocol, but why will the Apprentice have need of a Jedi mentor - surely he's Vader's homeboy? Come to think of it, why does every bit of footage and imagery that we've seen of The Force Unleashed show the Sith secret weapon using his powers almost exclusively against those aligned with the Emperor?
We're guessing that the Apprentice will struggle with the morality of his despicable evil doing, ultimately wussing out like a big blouse and switching to the light side of the Force. He'll probably end up skipping through a field of flowers with the bloody Ewoks. Nightmare.
Let's hope LucasArts do keep The Force Unleashed as dark as space itself from start to finish. We want youngling blood on our hands.
