Today Disney Interactive announced it has released a Collector's Edition of its surprise hit Spectrobes. Released earlier this year, Spectrobes is an action RPG with similarities to Pokemon that was the best-selling third-party DS game in March 2007.

Disney's Spectrobes game for DS will bring together the worlds of Pokemon-style collect-'em-all gameplay and Panini sticker-esque trade-'em-all fervor in a heady mix of addiction when it launches on March 16th. Playing as a boy action star called Taiga, Fossil League's backstory sees you travelling back in time to collect, tame and battle dinosaur fossils in what's described as a Pokemon-style.

To be honest, this approach sounds remarkably similar to Buena Vista's Spectrobes ¿ another game where you have to collect fossils, and train and fight with the resulting creatures.
