Destructoid writes: Hello? Is anyone reading this early? Well, for any readers that are we've got some last minute event news for you. Nintendo is setting up Rhythm Heaven lounges around the country for people to be able to test out the game. The event actually started yesterday, but everyone was working on Friday and Saturday is when all the cool kids will be there anyway. Plus, for those in Chicago the party rolls in on Sunday too, so they can party twice in one weekend.

Nintendo and New York's Scratch DJ Academy will be hosting an invite only event for the new DS game, Rhythm Heaven. The event at the Scratch DJ Academy will take place on Thursday, April 9th. DJs Daddy Dog and DJay Jung will be teaching students how to apply some Rhythm Heaven to their live sets.

"Nintendo's hotly anticipated rhythm-based music game will be put to the test as consumers and eager beat-keepers gather at an exclusive invitation-only event at New York's Scratch DJ Academy for a night of game sampling and turntable spinning. Following the April 5 launch of the Rhythm Heaven video game, playable on either the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi systems, this unique event will give players and spectators an up-close look at the new game with interactive demonstrations, a live Rhythm Heaven/DJ battle and prize giveaways. The Scratch DJ Academy is the perfect place for consumers to experience the game for the first time, allowing players to apply rhythm skills learned in the game to real-life DJ techniques.

World-renowned DJ instructors DJ Daddy Dog and DJay Jung will also be on hand at the event to show attendees how the rhythm drills and beat-keeping exercises found in the DJ School mini-game in Rhythm Heaven relates to real-life DJ skills."

Two days ago, reps from the company visited MTV News to deliver the game - and forced the game's recipient (me) to carry the tune. Bad move.

A smarter decision was having Beyoncé star in their official "Rhythm Heaven" TV commercial. The superstar singer recently granted Entertainment Weekly an interview that turned into a survey of her gaming tastes."

Nintendo has the perfect companion piece for that DSi you'll probably end up buying on April 5: Rhythm Heaven! Coincidentally, Rhythm Heaven will also be the best way to console yourself if you walk into a store and find DSi systems sold out. In either case, the rhythm microgame collection from the WarioWare team will be available in North America on April 5, exactly as "predicted" by retailers.
