Today Konami confirmed to IGN that the franchise formerly titled Winning Eleven Soccer in the United States will now be known as Pro Evolution Soccer 2008. This in no way affects the title in Europe where it will stay known as Pro Evolution Soccer.
According to Konami, Pro Evolution 2008 is scheduled to arrive on the Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable in the New Year and will see both iterations crammed to the rafters with "all the realism and intuitive controls associated with the series."

According to French gaming website Jeux-Video, a number of details were revealed regarding Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 during the IDEF event in Cannes, France. Konami expects a playable version of the soccer sim to be available on August 22nd which will most likely be making an apperance at the Leipzig event.
