Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia

Also known as: Pokemon Ranger 2

XMNR: Local retailers aren't running with any big crazy coupon deals on new games this week like they have in previous weeks but there area a number of older games discounted from a little to practically free. Notable sales this week include Pokemon Ranger and Pokemon Dungeon games for only $4.99 at Toys R Us, Medal of Honor for $19.99 at Kmart and the DJ Hero 2 Turntable bundle for just $19.99 at Toys R Us. This week also has a few hardware deals including Gift Cards for the Xbox 360 and Kinect bundles at two different retailers and a Gift Card for Kinect with the purchase of a game.

Destructoid: Remember when Pokémon games were limited to just 151 little critters to collect? God, those were the days. I can't comprehend trying to acquire every Pokémon they've come up with since that time. The gang at TheSpeedGamers are made of tougher stuff than I am, apparently. They've decided that they're going to attempt to collect all 493 Pokémon. And they're going to do it in a 72-hour period, live on the internet, as a charity drive for an Oklahoma-based children's cancer charity, Ally's House. No outside trading, just pure capturing skill involved. Of course, some of the Pokémanz were only available at live events, so special exceptions have been made for these creatures which will be pre-loaded on one of the cartridges they'll be using. Best of luck to TheSpeedGamers! You'll be able to check out their live stream of the event and donate to the cause beginning tomorrow.

411mania talks about this week's game releases. Highlights include Phantom Brave, C.O.R.E, Fossil Fighters, and Madden. On Phantom Brave, 411mania writes: We Meet Again is an update to the original Phantom Brave for the PS2. As it was the game that immediately followed Disgaea, it had a lot to live up to when it was first released back in 2004. Though the SRPG contained many similarities to its predecessor, many fans felt that it strayed a little too much from what made Disgaea a hit. Detractors cite the more serious story as well as the various gameplay changes as their main complaints. However, those who actually gave the game a chance found a lot of the changes to their liking. The absence of the grid system, for example, allowed for more freedom when positioning characters. In addition, the Confine system, whereby the souls of the playable characters must be confined to objects on the field in order to take physical form, forced players to put more thought into when and where to use each character. It's not an exact clone of Disgaea, but in this case, that isn't such a bad thing.

DarkZero: It seems the world of Pokemon has invaded Twitter, with multiple characters and Pokemon from the games and TV show now having Twitter accounts. Some are a bit pointless, some are really bloody pointless, but some are very funny. Koffing managed to get a laugh out of us, as it seems he just exploded. He also revealed that his trainer James loves ABBA.
