Our reliable and trusty lawyer Phoenix Wright has been in the news last year for a lot of reasons - a cross-over game, a Live-Action movie, and being in a roster of a popular fighting game series. But what is the real future of the Ace Attorney series as a whole?

<br /> Ace Attorney Investigations producer says that Capcom is making some plans about the Ace Attorney series that will make the fans happy...
We’re big fans of Capcom’s dramatic law and order series Ace Attorney and were excited when we first heard a films was being made based on it and that it would be helmed by gonzo director Takashi Miike (Audition, Ichi the Killer). We thought we’d have to wait till next week to see footage of the game, but we got some early. Just be prepared to listen to the loud reactions of Japanese talk show hosts...
Capcom has released the first image from its upcoming Ace Attorney movie adaptation. The sole pic accompanies the launch of a Japanese-language promo site, with a release date set and the promise of a trailer soon. “But it's one image! One measly little picture!” Yes, just one picture of a live-action movie, based on a Capcom game, and looking just fine. Do you realize how long that's taken?
Following news that Ichi the Killer director Takashi Miike is working on “a court drama, based on a videogame” for the Nintendo DS comes an official announcement from Capcom confirming that a live-action Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is in production and scheduled to release in Japan in spring 2012. As expected, the movie will indeed be directed by Miike, who is known for creating exceptionally ultra violent and disturbing films...
Game movies are usually a huge pile of rotting crusty dump. I know that. But it doesn't matter any more. Because if a recent quote is to be interpreted as I believe it is - and I'm 99.99999999notenoughninesintheworld% sure it is - then we could soon be in for one so good that it'll instantly wipe away all the bad karma from the likes of Resident Evil and Double Dragon, leaving the planet pure and fresh once again.
Because following previous rumours, said quote implies very heavily that a live-action Phoenix Wright movie is indeed coming, and it's coming from Miike Takashi, the director of extreme cinema classics such as Ichi the Killer, Audition and the Dead or Alive trilogy. Click on, and I'll explain why that's a very, very good thing.
Musicals tend to run the spectrum of content (just look at Cats), so it should come as no surprise that videogame adaptations have been given a spot in the ol limelight. Not content with the all-female musical adaptation of Capcoms Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series, a group of fans from the other side of the pond have decided to take a very vocal stab at this life of a lawyer.
The creator and fans of Ace Attorney give Capcom an OBJECTION!!! and present decisive evidence
The creator of the popular Ace Attorney franchise is interested in bringing it to the recently-unveiled Nintendo 3DS. The puzzle-solving series may provide a chance for Capcom to create a 3D-enabled Ace Attorney game, Shu Takumi told VideoGamer.com at E310 last week. It's a little bit difficult to say, Takumi said. We just saw it here; we're not sure what we can do with [the technology] yet. But certainly if the opportunity presented itself and we could make it, then it might be a really good chance for us to use that technology. But we'll have to wait and see what the future brings.
Unless you work in a kitten factory, then I seriously doubt you're going to see anything that's more awwwwwwdorable than this collection of Capcom characters. Yes, baby panda, they're even cuter than you.
Capcom says that they probably won't be reprinting the Phoenix Wright games on the Nintendo DS.
