Atlus is spoiling fans again with bonus CDs for both Knights in the Nightmare and The Dark Spire. Even more, they have launched a new website hosting samples of the music from The Dark Spire, highlighting both the classic mode and modern mode. The music sounds like a blend between Castlevania and Ninja Gaiden, so be sure to watch for it when the game launches in April.

Japanese Psychiatric Association Wants 'Dementium: The Ward' Off Shelves (Dementium: The Ward)

Last week, daily Japanese newspaper Sankei Shimbun (via Yahoo! Japan) reported that the Japanese Association of Psychiatric Hospitals has asked Gamecock Media Group's Japanese distributor Interchannel to pull DS game "Dementium: The Ward" from store shelves.

Released in Japan in June, "Dementium" is survival horror first-person shooter with a plot that has the protagonist in a dilapidated hospital filled with gruesome surgical experiments.

From the translated Yahoo! story, it seems that the organization was concerned that the game might "encourage discrimination and prejudice" against those with psychiatric disorders.

MTV Multiplayer contacted Gamecock CEO Mike Wilson about the association's request to yank the selling of "Dementium" in Japan. He said to MTV Multiplayer in an e-mail...

Dementium: The Launch (Dementium: The Ward)

An art-house theater in Austin, Texas was the location of last night's launch party for Dementium: The Ward, a survival horror game for Nintendo's DS which goes on sale today. Made by three guys in a garage - each had over a decade of development experience - Renegade Kid signed with Gamecock in May of this year, and the game was gold by the end of October.

"The game technically releases tomorrow," Gamecock's Jason Livergood told the audience of developers, adding that this hadn't kept some retailers from releasing it a few days early. Not only have people started buying the game, they've started writing the publisher.

Following the initial announcement of The Ward for Nintendo's DS portable, it has now been confirmed that the game has had a slight name change and also now has a publisher.

Apparently Gamecock has taken on responsibility for the game, now titled with the much more memorable name of "Dementium: The Ward". Follow the link for more info.

David Wise, composer since 1985, leaves Rare (Diddy Kong Racing DS)

MundoRare writes: "Recent times and cancellations have shown that all is not well in Rare-land. As if the cancellations of both Perfect Dark 2 and Kameo 2 in favor of Project Natal have shaken the faith of even the most loyal Rare fans, David Wise's departure from Rare could very well be the killing blow. [...]

From his Facebook: "I think the business of Rare has changed a great deal, and at the moment there is just not the opportunity to create the soundtracks that Rare were fortunately very famous for."

Unfortunately, though, this is only the most recent loss of a distinguished employee within the British developer in the recent months.

Back in August, Steve Burke, another prominent Rare musician from Kameo fame, also left the company to take a year's sabbatical "to go travelling," according to some Rare sources; no word if the real reason could be or not related with his well known desires to work for the film industry. Burke and Wise's departures only follow the trade open by Grant Kirkhope a year ago.

Out of the musical department, there has recently been huge losses, with Microsoft's recent restructuring process affecting several engineers and artists, including Steve Malpass, designer for Banjo-Tooie, Perfect Dark, Ghoulies and Nuts & Bolts. Moreover, some programmers have also left, like veteran Mark Edmonds, one of the remaining members of the original GoldenEye 007 team, who abandoned Rare in late 2008 after 14 years of work at Twycross."

More Oz Nintendo DS and Wii Release Dates (Diddy Kong Racing DS)

Diddy Kong Racing and Wing Island get street dates.

Last week Nintendo Australia released plans for the next few months, and now we're able to confirm exact dates for the remaining two titles on the list. Wing Island for Wii will be hitting Australian stores on March 29th, at an RRP of $79.95, while Diddy Kong Racing DS will be available on April 5th for $69.95.

Three Digimon Games go gold (free stickers) (Digimon World Dawn / Dusk)

Namco sent out an announcement about three Digimon games going gold, and you may think so what? Free stickers, that's what! Digimon World Data Squad for PlayStation 2 and Digimon World Dawn / Digimon World Dusk for Nintendo DS will be in stores on September 18 along withÂ¿a sheet of exclusive stickers!

So, in addition to looking cool by walking around looking for other friends (read: other nerds) through the Nintendo Wi-Fi connect for these parallel titles or staying at home with the cel-shaded PS2 RPG, you can look really cool by placing Digimon stickers all over your clothes and body.
