Sept 11, 2007 Two weeks ago we asked you to South Park-ify your favorite game characters for an almost illegal amount of South Park DVDs during our retrospective feature on the boys and their games. And what better occasion to run your kick ass submissions than on the heels of South Park's Emmy win for Outstanding Animated Program (for Programming Less Than One Hour), beating out such stiff competition as The Simpsons, Robot Chicken and, uh, Avatar? Not only is this the show's second Emmy ...

Sept 11, 2007 Konami has its sights set on making the next console-based Castlevania game exclusively Xbox 360, following comments by the series creator, Koji Igarashi, who pointed towards the console's popularity in the priority US market. "I will be working on a DS [Castlevania game]," said Igarashi, "but I am thinking of moving to the home consoles for the future. I will continue to use 2D for the DS version, but I'm still trying to figure out which console to do the home console versions. ...

September 11, 2007 The great thing about videogames is that you can visit places you'd never actually get to see in real life (unless you're an Indiana Jones-style archaeologist, in which case kudos to you). But ever considered that you could see the whole world from your armchair? Check out the Google Map below to see how you can go around the world in 80 games. It may cost you a lot, but still way less than the cost of plane tickets, and safer too. Just click each point to see which game ...

We got to thinking about this videogames stuff - we do that sometimes - and in the process, we stumbled upon a great idea for a new file-download website. But the thing is, we need your help. It's called FileRadar (located conveniently at FileRadar.net, or at the handy, "Downloads" tab we popped up at the top every GamesRadar.com page) and what makes it different is the fact that it's entirely driven by you and not pompous know-it-all journalists like, well, us. Users submit files and, if you ...

Change is good, they tell us. Without progress, we stagnate. But is that true of videogames? Think about it. Beyond the high-res textures, fancy physics and surround sound, is the stuff you're playing today really any better than what you experienced as a kid? We don't think so. Maybe we're old or maybe we're just stubborn, but we can't help longing for the types of games that got us into this hobby in the first place. What follows are the genres we miss the most, the ones that deserve to ...

Sept 10, 2007 Next-gen consoles have been banned from UK prisons due to concerns that they could be used to coordinate terror attacks. The banning of game consoles in UK prisons has now seemingly been extended to Microsoft and Nintendo systems. UK ...

DS News | Guitar Hero: On Tour
Sept 10, 2007 How will Guitar Hero be played on DS? That's the big question for Vicarious Visions, the developer taking care of the handheld conversion. Contrary to expectations, however, the game won't use the stylus. Unlike in Ubisoft's guitar simulator Jam Sessions, which has players using the stylus to strum on-screen strings, Guitar Hero DS won't use the touch screen as a primary input at all, revealed design manager, Adrian Earle. This leads to further speculation that the game may be ...
