Tecmo today announced that its classic football franchise is making a comeback exclusively on Nintendo's DS handheld this fall with the release of Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff.
After developer Tecmo teased us last year with a short video with no gameplay just announcing its existence, we have been on pins and needles to hear what exactly is going on with it. The June 2008 issue of EGM (and their "Retro Revivals" cover story) has confirmed that Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff will be exclusive to the Wii and DS with both games coming in the fall.

What's the point in coming up with some meaningless name for an invading race of alien beings? If a load of blobs resembling angry brains came floating down from outer space and started using ray-guns and mind-control on everyone on your street, the last thing you'd be thinking about is naming them.
