Square-Enix has confirmed that Dragon Quest IV, V and VI will be on their way to USA for DS. The first US screens of IV are here.

Known as the Zenithia Trilogy, the games were originally released for the NES and SNES back in the early nineties. The new titles will have 3D graphics, newly animated monsters and dual screen presentation.

After discovering that the original Japanese release of Dragon Quest IV DS had a partially translated English script in it, then picking up clues in regards to a possible stateside release thanks to the ESRB and USPTO, RPG house Square Enix has finally confirmed that all three DQ DS remakes are heading to North America.

Exophase.com writes, "You see that? Looks like our predictions regarding Square Enix's recently registered trademark were spot on after all. According to an updated ESRB listing, Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen has been rated for the Nintendo DS.

While the folks over at Square Enix still have yet to officially announce the title, there's essentially no doubt now that a stateside release is near."

Trademark filings, always a fun and interesting subject. The latest is that Square Enix has filed a trademark with the USPTO for the mark "Chapters of the Chosen" under video game software. Educated speculation suggests that this may be the subtitle for a yet-to-be-announced localized version of Dragon Quest IV DS.

January 11 - Nintendo claims eight of the top ten selling games of 2007 in Japan, looking at the latest figures from Enterbrain, publisher of the Famitsu magazine.

Only Capcom's PSP title Monster Hunter Portable 2 and Square Enix's Dragon Quest IV manage to break Nintendo's hold on the top ten.

Square Enix announced today that shipments of Dragon Quest IV for the DS have topped the million mark in Japan. The feat comes three weeks after launch, and just prior to next week's release of Final Fantasy IV.

The first day sales of various titles have now been unveiled and Square Enix's Dragon Quest IV remake for Nintendo DS has sold an amazing amount on just its first day. According to leaked data, the game has shot through 70% of its stock to pass the 360,000 mark, but there are also anecdotal reports from those in Japan that state there is a plentiful supply of the game on store shelves, so perhaps there is more stock available than first reported. Whatever the case, the game should be able to fly towards the 500,000 mark with ease by the next Media Create chart update and creep towards a million as the holiday period takes full hold.

"Let's cut to the chase. Square Enix is releasing its Dragon Quest IV DS remake, and this notice popped up at retailer Tsutaya:

'11/22 Sale Date Regarding DS Dragon Quest IV
Since the shipment is limited, it is difficult to guarantee purchase of the game. Because of that, there is a chance customers who haven't pre-reserved the game will not receive a copy. There is a limited number of pre-reserves, so please pre-reserve as soon as possible.'

Wonder if this is a sales ploy or if there is truly a shortage. Square Enix probably wants as many units out there on drop date as possible."
