Yeah, we'll give E3 its props. But the last thing we needed is another ginormous game expo that lets the big boy publishers hog the spotlight and peddle their billion dollar franchises front and center. Enter the grassroots showcase, Expo for Interactive Entertainment: Independent and Original - or more preferably pronounced as the sing-songy EIEIO.

Gaming’s most intense whirly birds, Little Big Planet 2, the latest on 3DS, cheap game deals, and your humiliating stories of decimated relationships! Listen now, your brain will thank you...

Guinness World Records has released the results of its online poll asking gamers to decide who the all-time greatest game characters are. More than 13,000 people participated in the vote on Guinness's official website and it looks like nostalgia stole the show, with only two post-2000 characters making the top 10. Halo's Master Chief, who originally debuted in 2001, took the number three spot, while Kratos from God of War, first seen in 2005, placed ninth...

Sept 28, 2007 Beowulf Beowulf: The Film will be out in November, and will be sharing a publicity budget with a Game of the same name. The film is produced by Robert Zemeckis (this isnt the last Zemeckis reference in this weeks Trailer Trash - youve been warned), and features an all star cast including Angelina Jolie, John Malkovitch, Anthony Hopkins, Crispin Glover, and others. This trailer for the game, however, stars a sword falling into a puddle over and over while some repetitive-looking

Breaking news: Halo 3 is out right now! You already knew that? Well then here, check out this quick Digital Short we made poking fun at Master Chief, Microsoft's unstoppable hype-o-matic machine and the perils of senility. Watch as a man of questionable age looks back on his time as a Space Marine as he questions everything you thought you knew about The Great Covenant War I. (Not the official title.) It's a parody of the "Believe: An Old Fart Recollects" video that came out a few weeks ago

We Love: Unlikely allies: After the national tragedy of this week's Virginia Tech shooting, it's difficult to imagine a positive side - but we're nonetheless relieved to see prominent media figures come forward to say games aren't the real problem. Anti-game activist Jack Thompson got yelled at on national TV by Chris Matthews and then slammed in an MSNBC article. Rush Limbaugh downplayed the supposed dangers of videogames on his radio show. It's true that neither Matthews nor Limbaugh are

You know the formula. A pure-hearted beauty falls into the evil grasp of some snarling, spitting, mustache-twirling megalomaniac. A noble hero, driven by honor, courage and - let's face it - hormones, rushes to her aid. A brief kiss ensues and, before you can say sequel, the hapless lady has stumbled into imminent danger all over again. Tale as old as time... classic "damsel in distress." Except sometimes, the damsel isn't worth the damn trouble.

Xbox Live's Castle of secrets? Okay. We're not promising that Microsoft is going to release a version of the original PlayStation masterpiece Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for Xbox Live Arcade this week. However, what we are saying is that it's the Tokyo Game Show and Microsoft is begging 360 owners to check out exclusive coverage of both TGS and the Euro-centric X06 event, via Xbox Live. And we're also saying that Microsoft's press release today promised two new Xbox Live Arcade titles

It's the top secret bit of info that's been whispered about in dark alleyways, behind bike sheds and under tables in McDonald's - psssssst, there's a version of Halo being developed for the Nintendo DS. No such title has ever seen the light of day of course, but Bungie has now revealed that there's an element of truth behind the gossip. "I believe we got pitched for it several times," Bungie's Frank O'Connor told Siliconera when questioned about there ever being Halo DS. Brian Gerard from
