Monsters vs Aliens

Who will win? Not the buyer of this game

Apart from minor indiscretions in junior high, we’re a decent bunch. So we wonder if we did something terrible in a past life that is coming back to haunt us as movie tie-in Monsters vs Aliens.

Sit through dire cutscenes and a hodge-podge of character-specific challenges appear. There are three types of leaden platforming where you use ‘special’ powers; city-destroying stages where skyscrapers tinkle to the ground like broken crockery; and slightly less wearisome puzzle levels. Occasional stylus-based tasks feel superficial, and the graphics are far removed from the snazzy animation of the movie. Amazingly, this costs full-price. For that you could see the movie and buy a ton of snacks.

Recaptcha is the thing at the bottom of the comments box where you need to type 2 words to prove you're not a bot. For example:

RECAPTCHA: strophes envied... I wonder why?

Why do these people insist on buying movie tie-ins? Why do they MAKE them?
Especially on the DS, which, I KNOW wil turn out like the GB, ultra cool, until something new comes along, and then is strictly out of date. Why do Nintendo bother?
This video player requires Flash 9 Player or later. Please download the latest Flash Player.
