Despite being on retail shelves for over a year, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is still flying out of stores, with the popular title nearing the magical mark of two million in sales.
To celebrate the launch of Mario Super Sluggers, Charles Martinet, the voice actor for Mario, Luigi, Wario, and more will be in attendance at the Nintendo World Store in Manhattan on August 24th, signing autographs and giving out a mysterious special gift from Nintendo to those who purchase the new Mario sports title.
The president of Sega of America, Simon Jeffery, has announced that Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games has aready sold 10 million copies around the world.
Having not been put off by losing the top spot three times, Sega's title is back at the top of the ChartTrack All Formats Top 40.
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games for Wii and DS has sold five million copies, but another collaboration between the two iconic characters is still up in the air, Sega tells Next Generation. Sega sent out an email today, confirming the release dates for a number of their upcoming games. Among others, relase dates for such highly anticipated games like The Club (Feb 8th '08), Condemned 2 (Feb '08) and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Nov 23rd '07) were confirmed.
