In this downloadable DSiWare title in the Electroplankton series, tap the Beatnes to produce sounds very reminiscent of the 8-bit chiptunes produced by the NES. Keep the beat, and the Beatnes will loop the sounds for a short time, allowing you to create some interesting arrangements.

Electroplankton Nanocarp

This member of the DSiWare Electroplankton family is likely to turn the most people off, since you have to use the DS's microphone exclusively to interact with the Nanocarp. Doesn't sound like something we'd want to bust out on a crowded bus.
