Nintendo Power's May issue includes the release date of Final Fantasy IV: According to the magazine the game is scheduled for release in North America sometime in July. No specific date has been given as of yet.
DS Fanboy: "The cover story on this month's Nintendo Power magazine is something that should sell a few copies, and set a few DS owners' hearts ablaze: Final Fantasy IV. The ten-page feature doesn't actually confirm that FFIV is being released in North America (never mind an actual release date), but ... the game is on the cover of Nintendo Power. Oh, and all the screenshots are in English."
The numbers in square brackets are shipments. All numbers are estimates:
Matrix Software is adding a nifty addition to Final Fantasy IV DS to make ensure you can hear the new Theme of Love song without having to lug around a MP3 player. In jukebox mode Edward plays your favorite Final Fantasy IV tunes. After you select a song you can clamshell your DS and listen to the songs as if it they were part of your personal soundtrack.
A big 3D facelift isn't the only update Final Fantasy IV is receiving in its trip to the DS. Square Enix is also adding voice acting to better tell one of the series' classic story lines. Today, the company announced the Japanese voice actor cast.
Square Enix's Tokyo Game Show lineup, announced today in Tokyo, is full of surprises, both good and bad. It turns out, for instance, that Dragon Quest IX will be shown, although in video form only. Also surprising is the video-only showing of The Last Remnant. That game appeared to be far enough along at the Square Enix Party earlier this year that IGN was expecting a playable debut.
According to the official FFIV, the remake of the series will be going to the Nintendo Dual System. No further Details available at this time.
