It's everyone's favorite time of the year again, when thousands of overcaffeinated journalists descend upon E3 with their live-blogged, 2000-word diatribes on the most minor of details. The objects of their unending speculation? The biggest games of the show, which, oddly enough, have been known to the gaming press for months and will surprise literally no one.

That's why we're interested in games that haven't been seen, announced or

You’ll often hear about games lauded for their exceptional soundtracks. Some succeeded with NES-style bleeps, others had orchestral scores or fully licensed songs that lent credibility to a medium struggling to be more than a toy.

From the stinging paper cuts delivered by their early Hanafuda cards, to their dual screen screammaker Contra 4, Nintendo have been responsible for a downpour of tricky titles to douse even the most resilient gamer's spirit. Join us as we descend Jacob's ladder through the circles of hell, into the belly of the Game Over beast.

It's Wednesday! It's just after 1pm GMT! It's time for a new episode of TalkRadar UK!!!1! Ahem.

Cundy, Dave M, Justin and Nathan make up the team to deliver this week's show as they blast through subjects such as...

- The news!: Where we discuss, amongst other things, the inclusion of Hollywood star, Gary Oldman's appearance in CoD: Black Ops in which, surprisingly, Meiks actually does some research for once.

- Appreciation Section!: Justin loves a game that nobody can remember, nevermind played. Nothing unusual there then. Ho, ho.. <sigh>

- Question of the Week!: Barking out your answers to the question... Have you ever bought a game based on the fancy packaging?

-
And lots lots more

Greetings! The time has come for your weekly dose of TalkRadar UK, so open wide your hungry ears. This week's team features Mr Cundy, Mr Towell and Mr Irvine - all of whom feel sufficiently qualified to talk things they have almost no information on. Like China.

More after the jump or...

Never let it be said that our very own Justin Towell is a man who screws around once he commits to doing a thing. Yesterday he decided that he was going to set a world record (it's the kind of thing he does), and today he has only bloody well gone and set a world record.

Yes, word has just reached me from today's Golden Joystick awards that our man has nailed a new record in the rather wonderful F1 2011. Need proof? Check out this video, and watch in admiration as a man from the Guiness Book of Records pays tribute to Towell's Terminator-like composure and ninja-style gaming skills.

December may offer the true climax of the holiday season, but in terms of new game releases, it's very much the calm after the storm. Most of the giant blockbusters of the season made their way out between September and November, but the final month of 2011 isn't barren by any means: big releases like Mario Kart 7 and Star Wars: The Old Republic lead the pack, while system-specific versions of some notable recent titles also find their way to store shelves. But if you read this over and don't see anything on the horizon that works you into a tizzy, surely November's overstuffed lineup holds a few leftover options to consider...

When Lionhead Studios' Peter Molyneux talks, people listen. His enthusiasm for games and RPGs is infectious, making it easy to get excited when Molyneux is talking up an upcoming Fable game. The designer's zeal for promoting his latest projects has gotten him in trouble at times, earning him a reputation as an exaggerator, a teller of tall tales who makes promises that his games can't keep. But even though every Fable game developed under his lead has received overwhelmingly positive reviews and was well received, Molyneux always seems more than willing to speak candidly and critically about his titles' shortcomings. That's what we admire about him. And that's why we thought we'd pit Molyneux against his toughest critic of all: himself. So join us on a trip through time as we remember the joys of optimistic pre-release excitement, tempered by sharp post-release apologies and regrets...
