WWE SmackDown! Here Comes The Pain

A biggie, this. Some argue that Here Comes The Pain marked the final point before SmackDown swam into "annual update" territory. The major addition was an Elimination Chamber match, where six wrestlers were placed in a huge, circular steel structure and invited to beat the snot out of one another. Legends of the '80s and '90s like Legion of Doom, Roddy Piper and Iron Sheik were included, while the new ratings system - with ranks for Speed, Strength, Stamina, Technique and Submissions - helped change the game from arcade button-basher to dedicated sim.

Verdict: Undisputed champion
