Square Enix has launched the official European website of Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker, which is filled with information and new media from the game, such new screenshots and a trailer. If you are still unsure what this game is about, here's a short description of the story taken from Square Enix's press release: Welcome to Green Bays, a cluster of mysterious islands that sparkle like jewels in the shimmering ocean! But travellers beware! The islands are not as peaceful as they seem, for they teem with a multitude of monsters both great and small. Green Bays is also home to the famous Monster Scout Challenge. This renowned contest, held once every few years, determines who will be crowned the world's greatest scout. The challenge is organised by the Monster Scout Organisation, whose headquarters are located on Domus Isle, which lies at the centre of the archipelago. Now a new challenge is about to begin, and the crème de la crème of the scouting world are converging on the islands¿ It is time for you to begin your quest to become the greatest monster scout in Green Bays, and in history!

Square Enix has today announced details of its schedule for the fresh end of 2008, with Final Fantasy I and II on the PSP and Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings on the DS both being given firm street dates. Details of the release dates for other UK-bound Square Enix titles are somewhat more vague, with DS titles Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates and The World Ends With You due as the leaves begin to sprout, while we can expect Odin Sphere on PS2 and Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker on DS sometime before said leaves turn brown.

Square-Enix sent word today, confirming that the pre-order bonus will come in the form of a handy Green Bays Map Screen Wipe (pictured above). Note that the offer is only open to those who pre-order from Amazon.com, EBGames, GameCrazy or GameStop.

After an agonising wait, Square Enix has announced that Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker on DS will launch on 28th December, 2006 in Japan.
