Spencer from Siliconera writes:

"Nintendo stealth announced a new Chibi-Robo game for the DS slated to come out later this month and they still haven't said anything about it. Doing a little digging we discovered this upcoming Chibi-Robo game gives the little robot a little vacuum cleaner.

In Okaeri! Chibi-Robo! Happy Rich Oosouji (loosely Welcome Home Chibi-Robo! Happy, Rich Big Sweep) players plug-in to dust patrol. When you vacuum dirt you also get riches! Money can be spent on new tools for Chibi-Robo, but the altruistic robot's goal is to make others happy. So, you can also use money and play interior designer in Jenny's home."
Oct 8, 2007

While we dont usually endorse specific retail outlets, Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol for the DS is being sold exclusively at Wal-Mart, which might be a bit ironic to some considering the games overt environmental themes. Similar to its GameCube predecessor, this portable offering has you controlling a tiny robot with a rechargeable battery and a power plug tail once again. Instead of doing in-home chores, Chibi-Robo is now outdoors where he is trying to simultaneously get rid of ...

The removal of the Nintendo DS game Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol from Gamestop's pre-order database raised many eyebrows and quickened the pulses of Nintendo fanboys. Had it been canceled?! Not at all, reported Nintendo. It was merely pushed back a few days and everything was going to be okay. Well, that's only partially true, as we've now learned that Chibi-Robo DS pre-orders were nixed for now obvious reasons.

New details from Nintendo, via Gamespot, shed more light on the disappearing mini-robot mystery. It seems that budget retailer Wal-Mart has secured the exclusive rights to sell the game in the U.S. when it's released on October 2.

If you're keeping score, that's a point in the win column for the opportunity to play the English language version of Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol and a point in the lose column for having to set foot in a Wal-Mart to do so. I suppose you could pre-order the game from Walmart.com, but where's the instant gratification in that?
Nintendo has confirmed that little Chibi Robo will be spreading happiness on DS when the mini metallic maid appears in Chibi Robo: Park Patrol.

After restoring happiness to the Sanderson household and saving the world in his very first appearance, the plucky cleaner has decided to take on the great outdoors. For the three-centimeter-tall cylinder of joy has discovered that little monsters are damaging the swings at the playground, and so the pure-hearted 'bot has set about purging the area of ...
Summer's just around the corner and you know what we're all thinking about? How awesome it would be to spend the long, hot days cleaning up a park just to make people happy. Well, not really, but that's what you'll be doing in Chibi Robo: Park Patrol, the sequel to this year's chore-laden, GameCube adventure.

You're a tiny little robot guy (hence the term "chibi") that's been tasked with keeping the outdoors spotlessly tidy. As a soulless abomination of aluminum, you can only keep up the work ...
