Castlevania Symphony of the Night did many things for the Castlevania franchise. It spawned a period of exploration-heavy, non-linear titles in the franchise. Most of them being hand-held releases, hitting Nintendos GBA and eventually the DS. Each one of these portable entries are rewarding experience in their own rights and should be experienced by gamers. Problem is, theyre kind of hard to get your hands on nowadays. So what better way to reach the masses than by offering digital re-releases of these games, just how Symphony of the Night received one on the XBLA, consequentially raising the memory limit of XBLAs releases that followed it. Fans have been clamoring for such a possibility, to be able to play these great games, with enhanced visuals on a home console. Judging by this excerpt from Nowgamers article on the making of Symphony of the Night, it seems possible
The naming convention for Castlevania games has become an unintentional running gag. Ever since Rondo of Blood each game name has been a combination of beauty and evil; Portrait of Ruin, Aria of Sorrow and Harmony of Dissonance are the foremost examples. Today we have a name that I swore was a joke, then turned out to be an honest-to-god iPhone game - Castlevania: Encore of the Night.
IGN: Things heat up next month with Korg DS-10, Smackdown vs. Raw 2009, Call of Duty: World at War, Guitar Hero: On Tour -- Decades, Luminous Arc 2, Metal Slug 7, Moon, Rune Factory 2, Tecmo Bowl, Tony Hawk's Motion (the last six of which are all on the same day), Skate It, Age of Empires: Mythologies, and Chrono Trigger DS. Talk about a rush of quality titles. Be sure to check back for more on those games, as well as our Game of the Month for November, when we crown our champion.

True fans of the Castlevania series are more excited by the next Nintendo DS outing, Order of Ecclesia, than the upcoming Wii fighter Judgement. They'll also be looking to get their hands on the special edition release Konami has planned for the handheld title. (Translated from Famitsu by Wired)
The only details we got on Order of Ecclesia were in trailer form, showing off a hero whipping and slashing hordes of skeletons, zombies, and Frankenstein's Monster. This looks to be a complete return to traditional Castlevania, with side-scrolling monster hunting galore. More time was spent on Castlevania Judgment, a Wii exclusive that you aren't supposed to call a fighter. The producers are terming the title a 3D versus action game, which basically means you can fight in all dimensions. Considering there are two characters onscreen replete with health bars, a timer, and special attack meters, this one has all the earmarks of a fighter. But hey, six of one, half-a-dozen of the other.
The moon hinted in the last issue of Nintendo Power caused a huge stir among the gaming community. Theories were formed and the guesses were numerous based on DS and Wii titles. Unfortunately, the revelation of the mystery may disappoint some. The Nintendo Power moon is none other than Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia for the Nintendo DS. In the letters section, it was explained, Well, see, the moon itself was a clue about this month's Castlevania cover game! Um¿get it? (Gulp.) Okay, so we stretched things by hinting that clues could be fond in the moon - it was all Steve's fault¿!
Tekken and Castlevania movie production company Crystal Sky Pictures has secured $200 million dollars in financing money, in part to green light a Castlevania movie.
According to Variety, the movie will be written by Paul 'Resident Evil' Anderson and directed by Sylvain White. Who made 'I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer.' Nice to see Crystal Sky is investing its money wisely, there.

Scans from the latest Famitsu have confirmed the speculation, as well as given a couple of details on the forthcoming new game. Namely its title - which is Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia - and also that it will support two players. Although it's unknown whether that'll be via local play or the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
A new listing on the Entertainment Software Rating Board's website indicates that a new title in Konami's long-running Castlevania series is heading to the Nintendo DS. Entitled Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, the title was also recently discovered in an entry in the US Patent and Trademark Office's database which revealed the game's title and logo. Shacknews has reached Konami for confirmation, but has not heard back as of this writing.
