CC: There have been many videogames made into movies. With a host of games (Mass Effect, Brothers In Arms, InFamous etc.) on their way to the big screen, questions were always going to be asked about Modern Warfare.
Activision-Blizzard have today released an updated release schedule for their autumn/winter line-up. Within the schedule are release dates for all of Activision-Blizzard's highly-anticipated releases throughout October, November and December 2009, including DJ Hero, Band Hero and possibly one of the strongest releases of 2009, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

VG247: Activision's Mike Griffin has said that the Call of Duty franchise has sold close to 14 million units in the series lifetime.
AusGamers reports the rural Victorian town of Ballarat in Australia, will be hosting a gaming event to highlight potential career paths in gaming, as well as showcasing the fun and magnitude of games through two eSports events for Call of Duty 4 and Demigod.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Fable II were all nominated in Action & Adventure, Story & Character and Best Game. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare also received nominations in Artistic Achievement, Gameplay, Multiplayer and Use of Audio. In addition, Grand Theft Auto IV was recognised in Gameplay, Use of Audio and Technical Achievement. Fable II was also nominated in Original Score and Technical Achievement. LittleBigPlanet received recognition in Artistic Achievement, Casual, Original Score, Technical Achievement and Use of Audio. Assassin's Creed, Dead Space, and Fallout 3 have garnered four nominations each, while Gears of War 2, Rock Band, and Super Mario Galaxy all have three.

Activision said Friday that Call of Duty 4 was the top-selling game of 2007, with unit sales of 7 million. But Microsoft said earlier this year that Halo 3 sold 8.1 million 2007¿ so who was on top?

Nollenberger Capital Partners analyst Todd Greenwald is predicting big things for Activision's new Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, going as far as to suggest that it may outsell Halo 3.

Although it doesn't seem like the first choice for a Call of Duty-game, Activision communicates in a brochure to it's sales representatives that there will be a special version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for the Nintendo DS.
