Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen trailer is magical

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen's latest trailer shows us how a sorcerer ought to contend with scads of subterranean foes--with lots of fireballs and lightning, of course. Take a closer look at the upcoming expansion and see if this distinctly Gandalfian archetype catches your fancy.

The expansion will be available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 April 23 in the U.S. and April 26 in Europe, Street Fighter style; that is to say, available as a standalone retail or digital purchase along with all the content from the original game. Players who have already finished Dragon's Dogma will be able to import their saves and jump right into Dark Arisen's new content.

This is going to be beastly, I've clocked god knows how many hours on Dragon's Dogma, can't wait for my Arisen and trusted Pawn to come out of retirement to take up bow, sword and shield in order to save the world again! I hope Mercedese comes to help out after I saved her ass and gave her a shiny ring.

    How be your pawn?

Honestly, I switched my pawn vocation as soon as she max a vocation level just to see how well each vocation would help me . Her stats are all over the place. I believe she is level 113. I stopped using her after I got the Autonomy skill. Bloodlust and Autonomy > Offline Ur Dragon.

I've never fought the Ur Dragon, is it tough?
  • TheDudeFromNowhere - March 14, 2013 1:41 p.m.

Depends on your stats. When you fight him, you have a time limit of 8 minutes. The key though is knowing that the amount of life it has left will carry over to your next battle with him. Also, he has 18 weak spots that you HAVE to hit to do damage. Lvl 60 ~ 70 will be a little tough; 80 ~ up should be fine. To make life easier, get the Assassin's Core Abilities Bloodlust and Autonomy. Bloodlust gives you 70%? more Str when you fight at night, and Autonomy gives you 70%? when you fight alone. Together, you become very strong. Honestly, your pawns are completely useless, so it wouldn't matter. One more thing, you will gain 4 levels when you kill it. You can double that with Veteran's Periapt, or a Blessed Flower. When the Ur Dragon is about to die, I use the Veteran Periapt and jump 8 levels. Of course, you will level up less when you cross the lvl 100 boundary. Last bit of advice ~ I've concluded that the Ranger class is probably the best when fighting Ur Dragon. I've tried it with Magic Knight, Assassin, Strider, and Sorcerer(i hated it) and Ranger is the best and easiest. YOU literally do not have to climb it at all. Just stand and Tenfold Arrow Spam. A quick note, the ONLINE Ur Dragon is impossible to defeat by just forget it. Unless you wait for a day or two for the "grace period" when it has a slither of life. Other than that its useless.

Nice :3 Thanks for the in-depth info, my friend told me the only way to beat him was with 1337 hax haha. Im a lvl.93 Ranger, just starting 3rd playthrough to get ready for Dark Arisen :D + I FRICHEN LOVE 10 FOLD ARROWS (\/) (;,,;) (\/) !!!

Lol. No problem. I've beat him over a dozen times so its fresh knowledge. And yes, TENFOLD is the best DPS ability in the game. Can't wait for Dark Arisen.
