Dragon Age II Achievement Guide

Friends in High Places

15 Points
Bronze Trophy
Met Grand Cleric Elthina, Viscount Dumar, Knight-Commander Meredith, and First Enchanter Orsino.

Story related and you can’t miss it. This will appear during the latter stages of Act 2.

Full House

10 Points
Bronze Trophy
Recruited four party members.

When you recruit Anders, he should be the fourth party member to join you and will allow the achievement/trophy to be unlocked.

Gift Giver

5 Points
Bronze Trophy
Gave a gift to one of your party members.

Another Achievement/trophy that can be unlocked quite easily. Simply give a specialized gift to another party member to get this. The earliest one is to get the portrait or papers from the “Birthright” mission and give it to Bethany or Carver after you have returned to the Hovel.

Great Minds Think Alike

50 Points
Silver Trophy
Earn the friendship or rivalry of four party members.

To get this you need to have each of your party members either really liking you, or really hating you. Trying to keep them in balance can be tricky since what one likes, another may dislike. You will need to think of who you want in your party for your gameplay style and who will likely respond or object to it. This is definitely not one of the easier achievements/trophies to get.

I Got Your Back

25 Points
Bronze Trophy
Completely upgraded the armor for one of your party members.

There are 4 armor pieces for each character – not counting Bethany or Carver – that you need to find or buy to upgrade each character’s armor. Look for the green tinted icons when looting and when you are in stores to find them. Some are also found while on quests and only some pieces can be found during different acts.

5 Points
Bronze Trophy
Became a resident of Kirkwall.

You will get this achievement/trophy when the beginning of Act 1 starts.

King of the Hill

10 Points
Bronze Trophy
Defeated the Arishok.

When you confront the Arishok in the Viscount Keep, you will need to protect Isabela to get this reward. Whether you face the Arishok alone or as a party doesn’t matter, as long as you fight him and take him down.

25 Points
Bronze Trophy
Unlocked 100 codex entries

This is another reward that will come with time. Once you have read 100 codex entries- any entries that appear in the codex- you will receive this.

50 Points
Silver Trophy
Reached level 20

Once you reach level 20 this will pop. If you are impatient, you can use watch the video to see a nifty little trick to get you there in no time flat. What you need to do is turn in a quest that doesn’t transition to a cut scene when completed.  Unsheathe your weapon by pressing A and then when you are in the middle of putting it away, turn in your quest and continually hit A to keep turning in the quest over and over. Save your game before hand if you don’t want to use the XP and just want the achievement/trophy.

Mage Hunter

25 Points
Trophy Silver
Sided with the Templars 5 times.

During the course of the game, you will be given the option to choose the mages side or the Templars side numerous times. It is impossible to get both on one playthrough, so pick a side and stick with it. Continue to side with that group until you receive your achievement/trophy.

In Act 1, the missions that affect the outcome are “Wayward Son” found in Lowtown, “Act of Mercy” in Gamlen’s House, and “Enemies Among Us” in Hightown. The others begin from “Showdown” which is at the beginning of Act 3 and will lead to the missions “Night Terrors”, ”Best Served Cold” and “On The Loose” which can be found from letters on Hawkes desk. If you side with the Mages 5 times, you will receive the Arcane Defender reward. Side with the Templars 5 times and Mage Hunter is yours.

Mass Exodus

25 Points
Bronze Trophy
Reach Kirkwall with each character class. Multiple playthroughs required.

For this you will need to start a new game three times, each time with a Rogue, Warrior, and Mage. Once you reach Kirkwall and begin Act 1d, you can quit out of the game and restart with the next class. Be sure to save your game when you do reach the city in case you feel like continuing on with one of the three classes.

Master Craftsman

25 Points
Silver Trophy
Craft all of the items from a single crafting tree.

For this you will need to create all of the items in one of the three crafting categories; Runes, Potions, or Poisons and Bombs. Potions are the easiest to make, although it will take some effort to locate all of the needed ingredients to make each potion for the achievement/trophy.

10 Points
Bronze Trophy
Allied yourself with the mercenaries upon arriving in Kirkwall.

When you first begin in Kirkwall, you have the choice of either joining the mercenaries or the smugglers. Decide which one you want to join and then save you game. Go talk to the other faction and agee to help to get the achievement/trophy. Once you get it, reload your game and go talk to the other group and accept and continue on playing.

  • PanzerDSS - March 23, 2011 6:30 p.m.

The Prince achievements being glitched pissed me off. I don't know why more outlets haven't been reporting on a big game's DLC having a rather large glitch.
  • joshuagutstadt - March 20, 2011 3:03 a.m.

  • WtfInternetguy87 - March 18, 2011 10:51 p.m.

There should be an achievement for not buying this game.
  • Redeater - March 18, 2011 9:17 p.m.

@joshuagutstadt Is english your third language? Please research before you start posting. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone but there is very specifc requirements for both achievements. @db1331 I like it but boy they should have spent another year on it. You replay the same coast/mansion/cave over and over and over.......
  • db1331 - March 18, 2011 6:20 p.m.

Boy this game even LOOKS like a rushed money grab. Every screen shot here looks so boring, and graphically the game looks about 3-5 years old.
  • joshuagutstadt - March 18, 2011 6:19 p.m.

Image dragon age n mass effect had a baby n this be it
  • Cleanser247 - March 18, 2011 5:45 p.m.

  • joshuagutstadt - March 18, 2011 4:41 p.m.

Well if u have half a brain u could firgure it out on ur own how the game sould beplay but here a hint ...when u do a quest that let's you choose mage or temp. Guess wut ur suppse to choose..come on you can do it..
  • Redeater - March 18, 2011 5:10 a.m.

Sorry for the double post but this will save a lot of headache for some people. Did the author of this even play the same game? It is not as simple as just "siding" with the mages or templars when trying to get the two achievments. You have to do very specific things.(Just look up better guides instead) @Jeff McAllister Do me a favor and research before you post this garbage. You are costing people pointless playthroughs with no rewards because of your sloppy guides.
  • Redeater - March 18, 2011 5:01 a.m.

It should be pointed out that all of the Prince DLC achievements are glitched. At least for me and everyone else on the forums. Also for the crafting resource achievement it says you only need one of each kind when in fact you need all of them. I have collected ones i missed from the black emporium and still it hasn't popped. PATCH PLEASE BIOWARE! This is beyond sloppy and unacceptable.
  • TokiWartooth - March 18, 2011 4:57 a.m.

Can this guide be more vague? Just for example, how about you explain the situations where you would have to side with mages or templars. You writing that you have to side with them is pretty obvious - like 99% of you repeating the achievement description.
  • Koolkat23 - March 18, 2011 4:03 a.m.

Id love to read this but can I please have a spoiler-free trophy guide.
