Dragon Age II Achievement Guide

Chantry Historian

25 Points
Silver Trophy
Found all 4 chapters of “The history of the chantry,” by brother Genitiv

To complete this, you will need to find all 4 entries before the end of the game. While the first 2 chapters of the history can be found easily enough by visiting the Chantry at the start of the first and second chapter during the day, Chapter 3 of the history can be a little more tricky. To find Chapter 3, start the “Following the Qun” mission and it will be right in front of you when you go to the Chantry. You can pick it up during battle by pausing and moving the reticle over it and pressing A. The last Chapter, Chapter 4 is in the Chantry in Act 3. You can find it up the left set of stairs and in the room there.

15 Points
Bronze Trophy
Defeat Merideth.

This is part of the story and will unlock when you reach it.

5 Points
Bronze Trophy
Acquired your first crafting recipe.

Another simple reward that is nearly impossible to miss. When you pick up your first crafting recipe, you will receive this.  You pick up many during the game and your first will no doubt be near the start of the game.

Crowning Glory

25 Points
Silver Trophy
Became the Viscount of Kirkwall.

For this reward, you must choose to side with the Templars when Meredith and Orsino are arguing at the Gallows during “The Last Straw” mission. If you side with the mages, you will not receive it.

Darkness Falls

5 Points
Bronze Trophy
Toggled the map from day to night.

Simply hit the right trigger when you are on the map screen to switch from daytime Kirkwall to nighttime Kirkwall.

15 Points
Bronze Trophy
Reached Level 10

Simply as it says. Reach level 10 and plop, there it is.

Delver of the Deep

10 Points
Bronze Trophy
Explored the deep roads

Once you have reached the Deep Roads, you will need to go on a little scouting mission. Towards the end, you will come to a rather large battle- and not to spoil it- but after the big beasty is destroyed and you enter the next area, you will get this.

Demon Slayer

25 Points
Silver Trophy
Found and killed the ancient demon, Hybris.

For this reward, you will need to find three scrolls that lead you to the demon. Once you find the three scrolls, you need to do their vague quest and then head for the demon. The first scroll is in Sundermount.  Enter and head for the Dalish camp and the scroll will be on the left of the main path. Continue past the camp and up the right path to encounter an Arcane Horror and a load of Shades. Kill them to complete the first quest and to find a second scroll behind a wall there.

Continue up the path and through the mountain graveyard to the far reaches of Sundermount to encounter more corpses and more named Arcane Horrors. The third scroll is on the Wounded Coast. When you enter from the map, take the first branching left to the dead end and the scroll will be there. Continue along the main path on the Wounded Coast and you will encounter a ton of corpses and an Arcane Horror called Medan. Take them down to complete the third quest.  Once all three are done, head to Darktown and just south of Anders’ location. On the left wall will be a ladder in the corner that leads to the “hidden lair.” Enter and fight Hybris and his swarm of Shades and Rage demons.

The Prince achievements being glitched pissed me off. I don't know why more outlets haven't been reporting on a big game's DLC having a rather large glitch.

There should be an achievement for not buying this game.
  • Redeater - March 18, 2011 9:17 p.m.

@joshuagutstadt Is english your third language? Please research before you start posting. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone but there is very specifc requirements for both achievements. @db1331 I like it but boy they should have spent another year on it. You replay the same coast/mansion/cave over and over and over.......
  • db1331 - March 18, 2011 6:20 p.m.

Boy this game even LOOKS like a rushed money grab. Every screen shot here looks so boring, and graphically the game looks about 3-5 years old.
  • joshuagutstadt - March 18, 2011 6:19 p.m.

Well if u have half a brain u could firgure it out on ur own how the game sould beplay but here a hint ...when u do a quest that let's you choose mage or temp. Guess wut ur suppse to choose..come on you can do it..
  • Redeater - March 18, 2011 5:10 a.m.

Sorry for the double post but this will save a lot of headache for some people. Did the author of this even play the same game? It is not as simple as just "siding" with the mages or templars when trying to get the two achievments. You have to do very specific things.(Just look up better guides instead) @Jeff McAllister Do me a favor and research before you post this garbage. You are costing people pointless playthroughs with no rewards because of your sloppy guides.
  • Redeater - March 18, 2011 5:01 a.m.

It should be pointed out that all of the Prince DLC achievements are glitched. At least for me and everyone else on the forums. Also for the crafting resource achievement it says you only need one of each kind when in fact you need all of them. I have collected ones i missed from the black emporium and still it hasn't popped. PATCH PLEASE BIOWARE! This is beyond sloppy and unacceptable.
  • TokiWartooth - March 18, 2011 4:57 a.m.

Can this guide be more vague? Just for example, how about you explain the situations where you would have to side with mages or templars. You writing that you have to side with them is pretty obvious - like 99% of you repeating the achievement description.

Id love to read this but can I please have a spoiler-free trophy guide.
