The chart finally gets the shake-up it's been crying out for with Doom 3, as predicted, storming in at number one and knocking Spider-Man 2 down a slot after it spent five webby weeks at the top spot.

Athens 2004 benefits from the Olympics kicking off and moves up from five to three, while the well-received Chronicles of Riddick - an Xbox exclusive - makes its mark with a respectable chart debut at number five. Rounding out the new entries this week is shoddy film vehicle Catwoman, which slinks in at 17.

The big surprise though is that trashy PS2 shooter America's 10 Most Wanted - in which you can gun down the likes of Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden - inexplicably zips up from 22 to 11. Wonder how much publishers Play It paid for the official Osama licence?
