Guillermo del Toro-produced horror
Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark
has had its January 2011 release date pushed back indefinitely.
With Miramax currently being sold by Disney, the film’s release has been put on ice - alongside Sam Worthington’s The Debt - until the sale can be finalised.
Which means we’ll be hanging on even longer to see what del Toro’s put his name to. At this year’s Comic-Con, we were lucky enough to glimpse some stellar footage from the film, which makes the date push all the more frustrating.
The best we can hope for is a swift sale so that Don’t Be Afraid gets a release later in 2011. The last thing we want is another MGM hoo-haa – which is still blocking Joss Whedon’s mysterious Cabin In The Woods from getting a release despite having been completed for some time.
