And it’s a newcomer to the Whoniverse, but he has some great credentials
The first director for the seventh series of Doctor Who has been confirmed by the official Doctor Who website .
He is Saul Metzstein , whose previous credits include Micro Men (the excellent BBC4 drama about Sir Clive Sinclair, inventor of the ZX Spectrum, starring Alexander Armstrong and Martin Freeman), Late Night Shopping and the new version of Upstairs Downstairs .
The article also confirms that, for the very first time, Doctor Who will be produced at the new BBC Roath Lock Studios in Cardiff, which officially open in March, and the fact that some old monsters will be returning.
It also states, intriguingly, that, “the Doctor meets a new friend, in the last very place (sic?) he could ever have expected...” “New friend” presumably means the new companion, but what could be “the last very place he could ever have expected”? The TARDIS? Is Idris the new companion? (#thecompletelymadeuprumourstartshere)
