Adam 'Didn't Ask For This' Jensen is back in Deus Ex Mankind Divided . The new game had been part of a secret teaser campaigninvolving a man being tortured and the slogan 'Can't Kill Progress' but then it leaked. So that's that surprise out the window.
Here's the first trailer:
The sequel follows on from Deus Ex Human Revolution and takes one of its less favourable ending options as a starting point. Spoilers! At the end of Human Revolution the player had the option to transmit a signal that sent augmented people on a rampage, making them appear dangerous (one of four choices). Where Mankind Divided picks up assumes the rampage option as cannon and sees the world heavily policing augmented people as a result. That's created an environment where augments are oppressed and persecuted, with Jensen escaping as a member of Task Force 29, group formed to control and track the augmented.
The job's given Jensen access to a range of new toys. He can fire his nanoblades for example now, hack things at a distance and has a fancy new stun hand that can shock individual people with darts from the knuckles, or blast entire rooms via an array that unfolds from his wrist.
At the same time he's also feeding information to the Juggernaut Collective, an underground group fighting the shadowy world overlords pulling strings behind the scenes. So there's plenty of potential there for angsty conflicted choices - be a good robocop and stamp on other augments, help the underdogs or... well, there's always an option somewhere along the lines of 'dying horribly alone and unseen for the greater good'.
