Dead Island's Ryder White (aka "The Voice") is set to star in his very own chunk of story-based DLC, which will make the plotting-douchebag-turned-monster playable for the first time in Techland's zombie sandbox actioneer.
As Dead Island players will recall, Ryder was the main antagonist in the original game. He was first introduced as a lone survivor and later revealed to be a Colonel in the Banoi Island Defense Force, who's solution to Banoi's undead crisis involved blowing the island and all of its residents into the next century. Thankfully, he simply wound up becoming a monstrous, hulking zombie instead.
In the DLC, players will have the opportunity to find out what makes Ryder tick, as well as the motivations behind his desperate plan. Two new blueprints and weapons will also be included in the download, which publisher Deep Silver claimed will add several hours to the single player campaign.
Ryder White will be ready for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on February 1 for $10 (800 Microsoft Points). Check it out in glorious screenshot-O-vision below:
