David Duchovny is more than happy to return for The X-Files reboot

Mere days after Fox announced preliminary plans to resurrect ‘90s sci-fi smash, The X-Files, one of its leading duo - David Duchovny - has expressed his enthusiasm to return.

In an interview with USA Today, he says he’d be “…more than happy and excited to bring it back and do it again with [co-star] Gillian and [series creator] Chris [Carter]... I’m assuming that it will happen sooner rather than later now.”

He adds: “We’ll see what form, how many (episodes). Certainly I can’t nor would I be interested in doing a full season. It will be in some kind of limited form. We’re all old, we don’t have the energy for a full season.”

Talk of the show’s revival rolling out as a limited series kickstarted three days ago when Fox first announced the possibility of a new X-Files run. With Duchovny keen to return to the mysterious world of conspiracy theories under those circumstances, it’s only a matter of time before Gillian Anderson throws in her two cents.

As series creator Chris Carter already dropped a few sly hints last summer concerning a possible reboot, does this mean we might see The X-Files return to the small screen sooner rather than later?
