Dark Souls walkthrough

A survival guide to one of gaming's most hostile environments

SIF AND THE DARKROOT GARDEN

The Great Grey Wolf Sif is guarding the Covenant of Artorias ring, which is necessary if you want to enter the Abyss and fight the Four Kings.Time for one more trip to Darkroot Garden! Go to Alvina’s tower and beyond it, over the short bridge, and into the next tower. Take the stairs down to another section of the Garden.

Continue forward through this area. Simply avoid the mushroom enemies, for the small ones are harmless and the big ones are slow. However, if you look to your right, you’ll notice a large puddle with a chest at its center. Defeat or chase off the large mushroom men, then loot the chest for the Enchanted Ember. Get back on track until you spot a light shining through a door at the end of a long bridge. You’ll find Sif through this door.

BOSS - SIF

Don’t worry too much about mobility in this fight. Wear enough armor so that you can achieve the medium-speed roll. Run towards the grave in the center of the arena and touch the sword. Once Sif appears, run back to the puddle left of the door through which you entered. If you stay in this corner, there is a good chance Sif will get semi-stuck on the uneven terrain, allowing you to slash at his underside.

The trick is to roll under Sif’s attacks and attack from underneath. Of course, you can always use spells and Pyromancy from a distance, just be ready for when he leaps at you from far away. A simple combination of rolling and Pyromancy can end this fight very quickly.

If you want to learn to read Sif’s attacks, remain a good distance from him and roll away just as he is about to strike. He has a few hits and combos that can be easily read and avoided if you are familiar with them.

Make sure to grab the Hornet Ring from behind the grave after the fight.

I assumed you needed to kill the Stray Demon for the ring, turns out you don't to get the Rusted Iron Ring. So just walk around the room to avoid it and still loot the place. It drops nothing of value anyway.

How does a caster beat the asylum boss? He one hits everytime i miss a dodge, i cant do that hit and run tactic the melee uses because of cast time which in turn gets me killed, help please?

In "The Depths", you can take the path behind the first butcher and kill the giant rat with a bow from the ledge you land on. It won't jump up to defend itself.

If you mean the Four Kings boss battle, that Quelaag’s Furysword. You can find the details on how to obtain it near the end of pg 44 in this guide.
