Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition gets trailer full of spooky choirs

Namco Bandai has released a new trailer for Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition for Gamescom this year showcasing a bit of the story behind the new content. As usual, it's super creepy, and makes us froth at the mouth for more of this awesome game.

From Software are masters of tone. Even their trailers feature this supremely creepy, otherworldly vibe that puts us on edge. Even their early entries in the King's Field series (the precursor to Demon's Souls) had a wonderful atmosphere -- despite being practically unplayable.

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition is slated for release one week from today on August 24.

    If I read correctly on PC Gamer, this version is "optimized" for PC play. Which means we'll be getting a port. Alas, I really couldn't care. I might not get the framerate I've grown used to, but I'll get a damn good game to play again. I loved the console version so incredibly much, and I can't wait to drop another $40 for this one--with extra content!

    I don't really give a shit about the PC edition, so I'm really looking forward to the new content! Also... I wonder if they will give more backstory about Sif... Unlikely, but that would be awesome! Also... those giant shadowy hands looked incredibly big and menacing... I am afraid or excited to think that they might not be just a stage hazard, but that they might belong to one humongous boss >>;

    An expansion on an already gigantic and highly detailed game? Count me in!

    I'm not really confident this will be anything other than buggy and poorly optimized.
