First-person role-playing became all too familiar after we were sucked into the gorgeous vortex called Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. But despite being chock-full of non-player characters, Oblivion can be a lonely place. In response to this massively-single player feel, Dark Messiah adds an action-oriented multiplayer mode for up to 32 players (16 vs 16), in which each team has the dual-edged goal of capturing and holding power points, or just blasting the enemy in the face.
Added to the core game's mage/warrior/assassin classes, the multiplayer introduces the priest and archer roles, ostensibly the medic and sniper of the Might and Magic world. You'll duke it out over the course of five maps, leveling up your character's skills as you progress through each round in the fantasy team battle.
The only thing we can truly predict from such an unpredictable game is that it will be loads of fun - and that's what it's all about. Look for Dark Messiah of Might and Magic this fall.
