  • Dark Age of Camelot launches version 1.105

    Dark Age of Camelot has released a new patch for its players today, version 1.105. The patch adds a new training window for Epic Armors, assisted by intern Anthony Maurice. Several changes have also been made to the Bainshee.

    Heroes of the lands of Albion, Hibernia, and Midgard should keep their eyes peeled for merchants offering the spoils of war. In particular, the spoils of the Infernal Awakenings event that occurred last month. The Infernal Auction has been announced by Mythic as the next in a long line of planned Live Events. Resourceful salesmen can be seen in areas around each realm, peddling rare goods and soliciting each passerby.

This may seem like no big deal, but let him assure you, skill point allocation has proved tedious and frustrating in the past. Gone are the days of clicking chosen skills repeatedly to build your character spec. What has replaced them? Glorious slider bars! Yes, now you can work out your specialization lines all out of one window.
  • Dark Age of Camelot patches to 1.104

    Mythic will be taking down Dark Age of Camelot's servers from 3 a.m. Pacific (until no later than 11:30 a.m. Pacific) to update to patch 1.104. The patch will improve spell effect and buff icons, the Assassin class, and items found in both Classic and Darkness Falls dungeons.
  • Dark Age of Camelot patches to version 1.103

    Dark Age of Camelot will perform special maintenance on all live servers at 6am Pacific, Tuesday May 18th. The maintenance will patch the servers to version 1.103. This patch makes balance changes to the Nightshade class, adds new items to the Shrouded Isle Dragon Scale vendors, and removes all Bind on Equip functionality on all gear - making every piece of gear now tradeable, even if previously flagged 'No Trade.'
  • Dark Age of Camelot patches to version 1.102

    Dark Age of Camelot servers will be going down for special maintenance on Thursday, April 15th to apply patch 1.102. The new patch adds seven new race/class combinations and introduces Epic Currency. The Gaheris Co-Op server will also be given a new encounter in Cathal Valley.

    Even when everything's going just fine, monthly billing in an MMO brings up the problems of players feeling entitled to quite a bit of free content and getting rather annoyed if it's not forthcoming. It also raises questions of how badly you really want to play the game in question. Luckily for most games, the rebilling cycle for subscriptions is automatic and requires no conscious attention from fans... at least, unless something goes wrong.
  • Dark Age of Camelot Reopens with 14-Day Free Trial

    Following the February 17th transition from GOA to Mythic Entertainment, all European Dark Age of Camelot characters and account information have been migrated to Mythic servers and are available to present and past players. Once logged in, European players will be fully updated to the latest North American version of the game.
