Harry Potter is heading back to the big screen for his penultimate cinematic outing tomorrow, and Daniel Radcliffe is already sounding a little bit wistful.
With Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 signalling the final death knells of the hugely profitable (and loved) franchise, he’s coming to terms with having to bid farewell to the character that made him a household name.
“I think to a certain extent it's true that Harry will stick to me,” he tells Parade magazine. “I think in a lot of people's minds I will always be him. It's rather like the mafia, I guess. Once you're in, you never get out.”
He’s not afraid that he’ll be typecast forever, though:
“I don't think I'm being typecast so far. But I would never be anything but proud to be associated with this film series forever.”
Radcliffe’s not hanging around to prove he’s more than just Harry Potter, though – he’s already shot new Hammer film The Woman In Black. And he’ll never regard his Potter experience as anything but positive.
“It's changed me,” he admits, “but I don't think necessarily negatively. It's all been good.”
Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 opens this Friday 19 December.
