Comic-Con 2009: 5 most important missed stories

4. Castle Crashers is coming to PSN

Behemoth is always a presence at comic conventions, whether selling toys of its bizarre characters or showing off a new game. The new game this year was its so-far-untitled next game, unofficially known as Game #3. Here's the spellbinding trailer:

But we'd already seen that. Got anything new? How about Castle Crashers coming to the PlayStation Network? That's right, one year after it came out on XBLA, Sony faithful will soon get to enjoy the four-player mayhem in all its glory. No date has been given, but it was playable at the show, so it can't be that far off, right? Then again, we thought the same thing two years ago when we saw Castle Crashers on the 360, so lets keep our fingers crossed.

5. Bungie done with Halo?

Remember waaaaaaay back in 2007, right after the release of Halo 3 when Bungie became its own studio again, thus splitting from Microsoft and leaving MS the Halo franchise in the bargain? Well, in the nearly two years since, what have we seen from Bungie? The as-yet unreleased Halo 3: ODST and the recently announced Halo: Reach. It seemed a bit silly that Bungie went independent from MS and gave up the Halo rights just to make more Halo games.

Well, according to this interview, that soon won't be the case. Though cagey about the details for what comes next, the developer said at Comic-Con that, "after Reach, that's it for us." So while any real news about their new game is at least a year away, fans of Bungie who might be getting a little weary of Halo can know that there's something new on the horizon, however far away.

Good to know Bungie's going to be working on newer and better things. I could have sworn there would be no more games after Halo 3.

Personally I hated Mass Effect as a game. I literally ran into glitches in that game every second so I couldn't be bothered to play through it all. However, the story and the universe itself is intriguing. I think the comic would actually be worth looking into.

That Game #3 looks to be some co-op platformer-esque thing... interesting to say the least.

A bit ironic that, in the "Marketing bullshit..." article, Houghton bemoaned people who instantly become interested in games just because of the outside influence of a famous person, when in this article, you do this exact thing by getting excited about Iron Man 2: The Game just because Matt Fraction is involved.

Oh good Bungie is finally putting Gaylo down like it should have been a lon time ago. Good job Bungie. Now work on actually making a good game

a wrestling fan calling comic fans virgins? its like the kettle calling the al jolson black i kid henry gilbert, i kid. the matt fraction news is to me the best news out of comic-con. also hank: matt fraction used to write punisher war journal, which has been discontinued and replaced with the punisher by rick remender. get yo' fact in order!

Alright a mass effect comic. I'm still playing it right now! Also a dead space extraction comic? Spooky. Gotta read the Original Dead Space comic.

Don't give a tiniest of rat anuses about anything to do with Halo. And the Mass Effect comic is the only bit of news there that seems even remotely interesting or good. But then I remember that interactivity is the best bit of Mass Effect and thus a comic, even with their writing talent - will probably suck and just be generic sci-fi poo. Positivity! ;D
