Battlefront 2 due 2017 with "new movie" content, Uncharted's director's Star Wars game in 2018

EA has released more information regarding Star Wars games via an earnings call this afternoon. Specifically, that a Star Wars Battlefront 2 will launch next year with content  “from the new movies" according to EA CFO Blake Jorgensen. While a still relativly mysterious third person adventure will arrive in 2018.

This new info comes in addition to a press release from earlier this morning, which revealed that last year's Star Wars Battlefront has sold over 14 million copies during the 2016 fiscal year.

The Visceral-developed Star Wars game will now be arriving in 2018. That project is currently being helmed by Amy Hennig (creative director of Uncharted 1-3), and is being developed by the studio behind the Dead Space series.

These new details arrives a week after EA revealed that it's partnering up once again with Respawn Entertainment (the studio behind the upcoming Titanfall 2, newly announced for a late 2016 release) to produce a third-person action game set in the Star Wars universe, headed up by Stig Asmussen, former creative lead on God of War 3.

As is common with earnings calls, no additional details were revealed about any of these upcoming Star Wars projects. But it goes without saying that Star Wars has done very well for EA so far, and so we're going to be getting a whole lot more in the near future.
