Brit bouncer flick isn't bad

Divorced Danny (Mel Raido) has no self-respect working a crap job, getting bawled at by his ex (Maxine Peake) and being beaten by thugs in ’80s
Coventry.

So he starts to box under the wing of bouncer Louis (Colin Salmon) where his confidence and connections grow until he’s in too deep.

Adapted from Geoff Thompson’s gangland autobiography Watch My Back, Clubbed recalls some of Trainspotting’s verve and the brutality of Layer Cake.

Though predictable, the attention to period detail makes this a Brit-flick rather like its hero – an intelligent little scrapper.
