Big Clint’s Flags Of Our Fathers is set to storm UK shores on 22 December this year and follows the tale of the soldiers who raised the flag in the infamous image at the battle of Iwo Jima during World War II. The first poster for the movie can be viewed by clicking here .
The men were immortalised in a sculpture at the Marine Corps War Memorial in Arlington, Virginia, based on photographer Joe Rosenthal's Pulitzer Prize-scooping pictures.
“You can't really recognize the faces of the people in it. It's all anonymous,” Executive Producer Robert Lorenz told usatoday.com. “Yet there's a desire to know more about them, and individualize them. This is the story behind the picture and the lives that came together because of it.”
