When you play offline, you'll see cops and AIs in freeride. If you play online, cops won't be there and AIs are replaced by real players. If you are online but want to freeride alone with AIs and cops, go to Options, select Online, and disable "Allow online interactions."

and in free-ride as well, your GPS doesn't show you the quickest path to your
destination. It shows you the "legal" path according to the Highway Code. You
can forget the law and find a shorter path yourself ...

option when you host the game. Once in the race lobby, use the Xbox Live dashboard
