Contest Strategy

Contests : if you want to do good in the contests, follow this simple formula :
1: do 4 snapturns to get your special up.
2: do at least EIGHT special air tricks. even if it's the same one but try not to.
3: do floaters, snaps, gouges, special face tricks, and any other face trick you can think of until there is 45 seconds left in the last minute.
4: with 45 seconds left, get short 20-30 second barrel ride doing at least 25-30 tricks. this should score anywhere from 50-70 thousand points.
5: with about 15 seconds left in the heat accelerate out of the barrel and max out the face tricks again.

message: To score huge combo points, first get barreled. do anywhere from 30 to 40 tricks in it (using Y) when you come out, quickly do a carve up the face to keep your combo from running out. do a few floaters , snapturns and some arials. if you are about to fall , QUICKLY push "UP" on the C-stick to cash in the points you already have. I have scored a 216,000 point combo doing this ,all in about half a minute. use the barrel to get fast trick points when you are running out of time after you get all of the icons (if required). If you master this nothing can stop you. There is only one thing that this will not work on. that is the last contest at G-land. you have to score a 9.3 on air, tube, and face. I still haven't beaten it.
