 01. Introduction
===============================================================================

This FAQ/Walkthrough is for Final Fantasy VI Advance, based on GBA Japanese
version which is released on 30 October 2006. Might got some little different
with other version.

English isn't my first language and my writing skill is not good at all,
so I write this guide in a simple style as easier people can understand.
Not much explainations in the walkthrough, but might still contain spoiler
of the game.

I'm not a professional game guider (althought I wish to be) and I've limited
time to write game guides, so please excuse this guide is not as comprehansive
as the official guide.

                                  ------------

Once you gain control of the character, just move on the North (up). You'll
encounter some easy enemies on the way, simply defeat them. If you face the
group, you can use the Bio Blast from your ???? girl to kill them in once.

Later when you get to the mines, find the shiny object on the left, it's the
save point. Continue to North and examine the gate to break it to face the
boss.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
  BOSS: Whelk/Yumeel
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The first boss in the game, nothing is hard, just to remember attacking
the boss when its head vanished will be counterattack. Make sure heal your
ally when anyone down the 30~40 HP left, until the boss's head re-appear,
blast it with anything you have. The ???? girl's TekMissile skill is the
strongest attack currently you have, so you should use it as your main
attack to finish the boss faster. Again, don't attack the shell to avoid
  the powerful counterattack.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Now get inner of the mines and watch the O- Item ------+- Location --------O
scene. Afterwards, you appear in the house. | Elixir | The clock at left |
Talk to the man at the site and you're able O---------------------------------O
the change your character's name (default Terra). After another scene later,
the man will tell you to leave at the other way. Before that go and check the
clock on the left for Elixir, then go right end and talk to the man again, exit
at the back door. Follow the only way back to the mines.

Inside the mines, you will encounter some O- Item ---------+- Location ------O
random battles with only Terra, use Cure | Phoenix Down | East corner |
or Potion to heal yourself when necessory. | Sleeping Bag | West |
Move all the way to the North to trigger O----------------------------------O
some scenes.

After that, you gain control of Locke, and you're able to select 3 different
parties. Now you have to protect Terra from the enemies, and your goal is to
defeat that boss waiting at the bottom. It can be very fast to clear your
current mission. Use the party with Locke, head down to the junctions where
you can see 4 pathes forked something like below, but you must reach there
before the enemies. Easy words, just head down until you see the enemies.

Wait in the middle, avoid to fight any of them for a moment. You can see
two beasts coming from left and right, the one from right should reach your
line before the left. So avoid the right one head up to the path, and run
pass it to bottom before the left beast caught you. Before you can reach
to the boss, you will face another beast in the only path to bottom. Heal
your ally with Potion before the boss if any of them is below 50 HP.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
  BOSS: Marshal/Guard Leader
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
You have to face two more Lobo wolves along with the boss. Needless to say,
defeat the wolves before focus on the boss. The boss has around 400 HP, but
his attack is very strong. Basically you defeat him by only attack, but you
will sacrifice one of two ally.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

When you head out of the mines, talk to O- Item --------+- Location --------O
the man in front of the house. Enter the | Ether | Right room |
Beginner's House and check out for some | Sleeping Bag | Middle room |
items. Touch the bucket to restore your | Potion | Left room |
HP & MP. The chest in right room hiding O-----------------------------------O
an enemy, the Ether is actually inside the pot, not the chest. Also a save
point can be found in the right room.

Once you're done, exit the area entirely to the world map. Directly to
South-West and you'll see the desert area, enter the building there.

speak to Locke. Control Terra and follow Locke, eventually you will get to
the right building, speak with Locke for some scenes.

Once you gain control of Edgar again, talk to Kefka, then head to North and
talk to the guard in front the entrance of the main hall.

Check the bucket inside the house for Potion, then talk to the man outside.

Banon has a Health ability can heal all your characters in once, and it has
no MP require, so basically you don't need to worry about healing your party
in the coming up battle. Also set Banon's position in the back line for safety.

Take the rafts in the river and move on. In the first junction, you're able
to choose your directions betweem up, left or right. I don't see much different
between the directions, by the way, I've chosen the up direction. You will get
the a save point, save your game if you want. Advance to the following area by
using the rafts again.

Next area, you will reach another junction, now you can choose between up and
left. Choosing the up direct will lead you back to this junction again, you
could say it's useless by rotating the river, but for PS version, if you've
a rapidfire/turbo controller, and if you've set your Cursor (under Config menu)
as Memory, you can leave here for auto-level up by this trick. For PS player,
if you decided to do so, make sure your Banon is set to use his healing skill.
I wonder somehow can make GBA or NDS' A button to be rapidfire :p

Anyway, here is quite a good place to level up for your current status.
So spend a few minutes here to get stronger for easier the coming battle.

Back to the game, take the left direction to another save point, save your
game here before going on to the next battle. Continue your route by using
the rafts again, and you will encounter the quite famous enemy.

  BOSS: Ultros/Orthrus
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Have Banon keep using Health to heal your party every turn and you should
be fine for this battle. Perform Edgar's AutoCrossbow and Sabin's special
move (left right left) for every turn if you want to speed up your process.

After the fight, you will control a mog to choose a scenario from:

 - Locke's scenario

matter which scenario you choose. Lets start from Terra's scenario.

 << World Map/Barren Fall >>

Once you back in the world map, head to the cave over the mountain at East.
Go North to trigger a scene and Shadow will leave the party. Now jump off
the cliff to fight some monsters in row, but they're quite easy. After the
5th group, a monster named Rizopas will appear, it's abit stronger than other
you fought just now. Make sure you use Sabin's special skill to take it down
faster.

 << The Veldt/Mobliz >>

After the scene at the shore, leave for the East. During the random battles
in the world map, you will encounter the boy who found you at the shore, just
attack him for now and he will run off.

Once you reach Mobliz, go to the item O- Item -------+- Location ------------O
shop and buy a Dried Meat (150 gil), | Elixir | Middle house |
leave here and find some monsters to | Cat's Bell | North-West house |
fight. You will encounter the boy O--------------------------------------O
again. Use the Dried Meat to the boy, Gau to trigger some events, he will join
you after that. Back to the Mobliz, enter the middle house and check the clock
for Elixir. The inner room of Accessory Shop allows you to rest without paying,
so don't pay the inner for rest.

As for the Cat's Belt, you need to help someone before you could have it.
Enter the North-West house and talk to the injured person on the bed, then
go check the letter on the table at left and help him to send the letter.
If you done helping him send all 5 letters, the Cat's Bell is yours. To send
the letter, talk to the NPC in the middle house (where the Elixir was) and
pay him 500 gil. However, the injured person in the North-West house won't
put the letter on the table before you done any of the these requirements:
 - speak to the shop keeper of the Weapon Shop
 - speak to the shop keeper of the Armor Shop
 - speak to the shop keeper of the Item Shop
 - speak to the shop keeper of the Accessory Shop
 - see the scholar show you the Serpent Trench
 - enter the Inn

 << World Map/Crescent Mountain >>

Once you've done, leave here for the South, enter to the small cave at mountain
South from Mobliz. Inside the cave, just make your way to the right area for
a scene, don't go to left upper area or you will lost 500 gil. After the scene
at the right area, you will automatically go next area.

 << Serpent Trench >>

Some enemies will emerge while you're going O- Item ------+- Location ------O
through the place, but they're not too hard | X-Potion | First cave |
since you have three characters in the party. | Green Beret | Second cave |
Things that you need to pay attention are the O-------------------------------O
branches, be sure you take right direction at both branches to enter the caves
for getting the extra items. The first cave has a chest contains the X-Potion.
As for the second cave, go North to the second area, then stand on the square
plate at the South to drain the water, go into the hole when you drain away
the water will get to the third area, which is the Green Beret is. Afterwards,
go down and get through the only exit to leave this cave, and you will reach
Nikeah eventually.

 << Nikeah >>

First of all, go out and find the inn at the O- Item ------+- Location ------O
North, examine the clock in the right corner | Elixir | Inside the inn |
for Elixir. Before you leave this place, take O-------------------------------O
a look on the shops around if you need to buy something. Get back to where you
came when you've done, talk to the man on the ship and travel to South Figaro.
That's all for Sabin's Scenario.

Once you gain control of Locke, go up O- Item ------+----------------------O
the stairs to the item shop, talk to | Potion | Boy's house |
the merchant beside the clock to fight. O------------------------------------O
Steal his clothes to end the battle. Now enter the house below the item shop,
go downstairs and speak to the boy, then leave through the door up there. Climb
the stairs at North-East, follow the bridge to the left until you found the
green soldier, talk to him and fight. Steal his clothes to end the battle.
Now back down to the houses area, talk to the guard near the chocobo stable
around the West and he will head off. Enter the pub, go up the stairs and
down to the other side near the counter, talk to the merchant down there
to fight. Steal his clothes to end this, you will also obtain Cider. Now back
to the boy's house, talk to the boy and he will allow you to go up. Talk to
the old man up there, then back to the boy and answer him "Courage" (Yuuki)
to unlock the hidden path.

Throw the hidden path come to the house O- Item --------+- Location ---------O

that, enter the first room and help the girl, Celes to remove her chains. Speak
to the guard before leaving, you will obtain the Clock Key/Screw. Do remember
the second has a save point. Go to the third room, use the Clock Key/Screw on
the clock at North-East corner to unlock a secret passage door. Remember your
characters are under unequipped status, make sure set the suitable equipments
to them before moving on, you will encounter some random battles here. Explore
around the secret to find some items, they're very easy to be found. From the
middle passage, go down and right to the stairs lead up, exit through the door
to get outside, then leave the town for North-West.

 << South Figaro Cave >>

Through world map to return this place. Just go North to get back to the
earlier area. Be sure you heal you party by using the healing spring near
the entrance, because a boss is await at the entrance.

                                  ------------

Watch some events in Narshe. You will need to separate your party like earlier
of the game, you goal is defeat Kefka at the bottom. Use the save point on the
right, then talk to Banon to set your party. I recommend make your main team
with Terra, Sabin, Celes and Edgar, you don't even need to move the other team.
Equip Terra with both hand with weapon for better damage.

Start by going down the left path, you should face a green soldier team. Defeat
them and proceed to the left, there's an extra path to left up, leads to a dead
end, you can get in that path for a moment until the coming up soldiers passed
your current point. Faster head to bottom and defeat the brown soldier in front
of Kefka, then followed by Kefka.

Make sure Sabin use blitz (left right left) and Edgar use Crossbow for each
turn, Terra and Celes keep on attack. Cure your ally when he/she is down to
200 HP because Kefka's Blizzara deals around 200 damage to all targets.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

done, head down to South, be sure you | Thief Knife | South-East house |
take the treasure inside the small house | Hyper Wrist | South-East house |
at South-East after the staircase. After | Earrings | South-East house |
that, down to the lower area and head to | 5000 gil | South-East house |
North-West most, enter the elder's house | Elixir | North-West house |
and take the Elixir in the clock. Have a O-----------------------------------O
look at the shops around, if you have enough gil, buy some better equipments,
but don't buy recovery item since you can get cheaper price in the next place.
Remember the Beginner's House at South has save point, and the bucket near the
entrance can recover you HP & MP.

Once you've done, leave for South-West, the Figaro Castle.

Note:
There's something about Gau's new Rages can be learned since this point,
I've heard about that, but I never been to try it out. Take Gau back to

                                 ---------------

The Figaro Castle brings you to the North-West of the world map, go into the
Kohlingen just at the North.

Inside the town, go to the house at O- Item ---------+- Location ----------O
North-East and enter from the back | Green Beret | North-East house |
so you can open the chest back there. | Elixir | North-West house |
Afterwards, go North-West house for O--------------------------------------O
a scene, then check the clock to obtain Elixir. You can find Shadow in the pub,
you can invite him to join your party if your party isn't full, but you have to
pay him some. Actually it's not necessory to invite him for now.

Now leave the town to the world map, you next destination is Jidoor, but before
that, lets go to the house at North first.

 << Dragon's Neck >>

Enter the house and speak to the old man O- Item ------+- Location ----------O
knowing he's going to build a colosseum. | Hero Ring | Dragon's Neck |
Check the pot at left for the Hero Ring/ O-----------------------------------O
Brave Ring for JP version.

Afterwards, move all the way to South. Beware, the monsters in the desert is
quite stronge. When you gone through the desert and mountains, you will find
a small town near the river, that's Jidoor.

 << Jidoor >>

Go North to the big house, examine the O- Item ------+- Location ------------O
pot in the right corner for an Ether. | Ether | North house |
Purchase some suitable items from the O-------------------------------------O
shops, be sure you have some Hi-Potion.

Once you've done, go North-West from Jidoor, there's another town surrounded
by the mountains, you have to go through a long way to reach it.

You'll still have some random battles even O- Item -------+- Location --------O
you're in the town, it's quite a annoying | Ether | Pub upstairs |
thing. There is a little puzzle clock in | Potion | Armor shop |
inn at North area, if you don't want to | Chain Saw | Inn's secret area |
find it out yourself, just set the clock's | Thief Gloves | Right tower 6F |
time as 6:10:50 and the wall will slide | Ether | Left tower 5F |
off. Be sure you take the Chain Saw in the | Fire Knuckle | Right tower 11F |
chest, which is a tool for Edgar. Now down | Hermes Shoes | Right tower 13F |
to South and enter the tower, follow the | X-Potion | Right tower 13F |
the NPCs up the stairs. O----------------------------------O

Beginning, you appear in the right tower, go up and take the Thief Gloves, then
back down the floor with an empty block which allows you to jump to the middle
building. Through the middle building to left tower, enter the room up there
and exit from the upper door.

Now you appear in the higher level of left tower, jump back to the right tower
through the middle building as well. Continue going to higher floor and you'll
meet a boss blocking your way, heal your ally before the fight.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
  BOSS: Dadaluma
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Not hard at all, but he is hard to be killed since he startin using his
support magic. Assuming you have healed your party before the fight, and
his moves seem to attack one target, so doesn't matter to let him attack
a few hits at the start, blast him with all strongest moves that you have
especially the Chain Saw you got just now. You can defeat him even before
he begins support himself. Also try steal the Jewel Ring if possible.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

After the fight, go inside the top floor, check the chest at both sides for
Hermes Shoes/Running Shoes and the X-Potion. Now go to the inner area and
examine Terra on the bed to trigger the scene. Afterwards, pick up all the
magicite/maseki on the ground and then speak to you ally near the entrance.
Now you're able to change you party members.

Speak to the ghost around you to learn some basic of the magicite setup,
however, you can only use them abit later. Now return to Jidoor when you
done, remember it South from this place.

 << Jidoor >>

Go to the big house (Owzer's house) at the North, talk to Impresario/Dancho
inside there. Afterwards, leave this place and go South-East from Jidoor,
there's another location at the edge.

Talk to Impresario in the front. After the scene, you will control Locke.
Now leave the stage and take the stairs to the right room, talk to Celes.
Control Celes read the book on the table and memorize the chorus, because
you will need to use it later.

When you done, open the door on the right, and enter the stage to start
the opera. Now you have to choose the correct line during the opera.
 - First line select the 1st option, (itoshino)
 - Second line select the 2nd option, (kanashiitoki)
 - Third line select the 1st option, (nozumanuchigiri...)
They should be "Oh my hero", "I'm the darkness", "Must I..." for English.

After that, the hero will come from the top right corner. Go and talk to him
and he will move to other area, just talk to him again when he stop. Do it a
few times until the hero turn into flowers. Now pick up the flowers and go up
the stairs to right, then walk to the edge of the balcony on the left. If you
done it wrong, you'll be kicked out and re-do everything again.

When you gain control of Locke again, go bottom of the room and pick up the
letter there, which is sent from Ultros. Now back to the stage and tell this
to Impresario. After the scene, Ultros is going to hurt Maria (Celes), and
you need to help her within the time limit.

When the time starts counting (right bottom on the screen), head to the
upper right room of the stage, talk to the NPC up the stairs and then press
the switch on the far right.

Now head to the upper left room, go up the stairs to reach the ceiling.

Ultros is at the middle top area, but ome beams there are broke, so you can't
reach to Ultros directly. Some enemies will not allow you to find Ultros this
easy, you have to defeat them if they block your way.

When you reached Ultros, heal your party and then talk to him for the fight.

  BOSS: Ultros/Orthros
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
This is not harder than the fight earlier in the game. Since you don't
have anyone with Cure magic, so be sure you heal your party before the
fight. Likewise, send him all the strongest moves you have to end this
faster, he doesn't have anything yo steal, so don't bother with stealing.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Some events triggered after defeating Ultros. Later you will appear in the
Blackjack, talk to Setzer for another scene, you will reach to Albrook then.

 << Albrook >>

Do remember you could use the magicite, so set them to your characters to
earn extra abilities from the coming up battles. If you forget how to set
them, select the 2nd option under your party menu.

Check the clock inside the accessory O- Item --------+- Location -----------O

respawn later, but it's recommended you can destroy the Blades at first.
Use Edgar's Flash or whatever moves can attack all target in once. The
battle become easier when the Blades were destroyed since the boss seems
to attack one target per turn. Later the boss will perform Net to freeze
your character and coming up with Haste, either you take it down faster
or perform Slow to make the battle little long. Anyway, if its Blades
respawn, don't spend your turn to destroy them, I believe you had already
bring the boss close to death, so it's better you focus on the boss now.

After defeating the boss, your wagon will be crashed on the soldier, and you
gain control of the character again. Move to North to save your game, use a
Tent if necessory.

Now down to bottom, after several random fights, Setzer appear and bring you
to the airship, and the boss awaits.

  BOSS: Crane x2
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
If you're full HP, you don't even need to heal, as long as you use all your
powerful moves in each turn. You can also have a try on Setzer's slot,
something will suprises you. Focus to destroy the left Crane for first,
reason is the left Crane has lesser HP. Edgar's Chain Saw seems always miss,
so use Drill instead of it.

 03-1.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 << Basic >>
-------------

The magic can be learned by using magicite (Esper). As you can see under
the information of magicite screen, each magicite has the several magics
to learn. Once the magic is reached 100%, the character would be able to
 cast it.

Each time when you have defeated the enemies, you will gain Magic EXP
(or whatever it's called) like how you gain Experiance if the magicite
is set. The number of Magic EXP multiplied by the number of the magic's
speed/rates is equal to the point (%) that you learned from this battle.
Again, you will learn the magic once the point (%) reaches to 100.
