Introduction ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well then, welcome to the Star Ocean 4 Private Action guide. If you are here you must be wondering how to achieve a certain Private Action, or perhaps how it affects an ending to the game. This is the FAQ to read. Please note before we go any further that Private Actions in this game are quite different then they have been in past Star Ocean titles. Furthermore, this guide is solely composed on my own experience with the game and the information gathered by other users from different online communities. That being said, this guide may contain some errors. As time goes on and more information is discovered, this guide will be updated to ammend those errors. So please, before you throw your controller against the wall because you didnt get to see Meracle stradling Edge, calm down, take a deep breath, and make sure you did everything correctly. Updates ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 10th March, 2009 v.9 -- Finally all the normal PAs, Funeral Bouqet PAs, and Reimi ending is done. All that is left is to make a list of achieving all endings in one go and the FAQ will be complete. 8th March, 2009 v.4 -- 2nd version going. Updated some errors, and added more of the PAs that are available. 6th March, 2009 v.1 -- First version of the FAQ written. Lots of stuff to be done. Will put as much info as I can. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4. What are private actions? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Alright, so what exactly are Private Actions (from here out known as PAs)? If you are new to this series, shame on you. Go back and play the first three (or 4 depending on counting Star Ocean: BB). Okay, done that? Good. Fans of the series will know very well that Private Actions are......well.... actions that are private. They usually take place after certain conditions are filled, certain items are in your inventory, certain characters are in your party, and a certain amount of time has passed in the game. All your characters had affinity points (or relationship poitns) with one another and depending on if you had enough, certain scenes may play that tells more about the backstory of a certain character, characters may fall in love, some are just for comedic value, and in the past few games, private actions could alter the ending you saw after beating the game. Got all that? Sounds pretty cool right? Read on and weap. Star Ocean 4 throws all of that out the window. Well, most of it at least. See, in past Star Oceans there were many different path or options to choose throughout the game, and in doing so, certain characters may not join your party, thus eliminating the ability to see some PA's. Some options also allowed the main character to alter their ending and end up staying/living/ killing/or falling in love with a certain character. Not in Star Ocean 4. In this game, PAs are set, as you have the same party members every time (with the exception of your second playthrough on but it changes nothing). Not only that, in this version, no matter what PAs you see, the main character will always end up with the same person every time. I wont say but I am sure you are smarter than you look, take a wild guess. So what is the point you ask? Well for one, having a great amount of affinity with each character nets you an "additional scene" at the end of the game earning you a small amount of gamerscore (10 points per character). Not only that, there are 2 "additonal hidden" scenes that are not normally unlocked by default that you can earn by doing certain actions throughout the game (explained in more detail in following sections). Finally, some of the PAs are just downright hilarious to see, mostly involving Lymle or Meracle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. What you need to know ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ There are a few things to be aware of about Private Actions: 1) Some are permanently missable 2) Some are only unlocked by choosing "specific" options in earlier PAs 3) To get one of the "additional ending" scenes, you must follow a strict path. 4) Most of the PAs occur on the long flights inbetween your story destinations so do not feel that you will automatically miss them. 5) That being said, some of them DO NOT occur on the ship flights. Don't worry I will tell you where they are. 6) You can skip a "legs" of PAs if you do not want to see any or gain/lose any affinity with anyone else or just move on to the next leg of PAs. In most cases, you will advance "one leg" for every PA you see. There are a few however that will not advance the "leg" thus allowing you to see 2 or more in the same time. 7) You can skip all PAs if you want on the flights between destinations by going to Edge's room and choosing "Rest Until Arrival" on his bed. --Affinity Points-- Affinity Points are the "bond" we will call it Edge has with a certain character and vice-versa. In most cases PAs will either raise or lower your affinity points with said character. Some PAs affect multiple crew members and sometimes it only affects one. Sometimes there is no change at all. In order to see each characters "additional ending" Edges affinity for them, and their affinity for Edge must be above a certain mark. Unfortunately, there is no way for me to put an exact # on this mark. However, after 7 speed runs of the game trying out different combinations I have a good guess and will label in the guide where I think you've earned/unlocked their additonal scene. --Raising Affinity-- There are a few ways to raise Affinity Points: 1) Actually trigger the PA between characters. There are only a handful of PAs in the game that actually LOWER affinity so do not feel ashamed to view most of them. 2) Making the right choice during PAs (this is where you can actually lose some big points if you make the wrong choice). 3) Room with the character. To room with a character, after Edge becomes the captain of the ship check the room board listing right outside of Edges room on the corner of the hallway. Here you can pair up certain characters. Please note that until they have a sufficient amount of affinity points for one another, male/female pairings are not possible. Also, affinity rises only as the story goes on, NOT YOUR PLAY TIME. Do not ask me about this. Period. Thank you. 4) Love Potion 256. This is an item you can make via synthesis during the game and when used on a character, EVERYONE ELSE's affinity rises for that character. So if you use it on Edge, everyones affinity for edge rises. Some say it doesnt work for the same sex (guy/guy and girl/girl), however, I have found that it does and until I can find SUBSTANTIAL evidence that it doesnt, I will keep it this way. 5) Aroma of Love. Another item made through synthesis, this can be placed in the 4 bedrooms of the Calnus and causes whoever is rooming together in there to gain more affection for each other as time goes on. More so than if they were just rooming together without it. --Lowering Affinity-- 1) Trigger a negative PA. For example, peeping on Reimi in the shower (but honestly, who wouldnt?) Ahem...moving on. 2) Choose the incorrect or "bad" choice during a PA scene. 3) Pickpocketing. This is a skill that Edge can acquire during the game. While tempting as it may be to pickpocket certain items, if you want to get EVERY characters additional ending in one run through of the game, dont do it. Besides, the items you get through pickpocketing are usually not worth it anyway. However, there is only a 10-15% chance that your affinity will be lowered by one point when you pickpocket. You have been warned. 4) Super Aphrodisiac. Another item made through synthesis. It has the exact opposite effect of Love Potion 256. 5) Ominous Metal. Another synthesis item that has the exact opposite effect then the Aroma of Love. --Private Actions with Welch-- There are a few scenes throughout the game that have Edge and co. sometimes interacting with Welch. These are usually triggered by introducing a new character to Welch or sometimes just for the heck of it. None of these PAs have an affect on affinity for you characters. They are just there for comedy and to listen to Laura Baileys sexy (but sometimes annoying) voice. --Achieving the Additional Scenes-- If the combined affinity points between 2 characters equals a certain amount, then the additional scene for that character will be played. Note that it is different for each character and until I find exact numbers, I do not want to post them (the numbers you see below in my lists are my guesses for affinity increases/decreses. Once again, follow the one playthrough guide below and you should achieve all the additional endings. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 6. List of Private Actions ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This section will list each PA as it becomes available and show the corresponding gain or drop in affinity points that the characters receive. Format is as follows ------------- #) Name of PA ------------- Available: When the PA is first available and what requirements are needed to see it. - Disappears: When the PA becomes unavailable. - Reappearing: If you miss it when its first available, this will state when you can trigger it again. - How to Trigger: How to start the PA and whether or not it advances to the next "leg" of available PAs. - Answer to choose: If there is a best choice to make for the PA, it will be listed here. - Affinity Change: How the response above, or just triggering the PA changes affinity. - Affect Future PAs: This will show whether seeing this PA will affect/unlock additional PAs down the line and what answer you should give. - Required for the two hidden endings: This will state whether or not you have to see this PA to unlock "Crowe's Ending" achievement and "Faize's Ending" achivement. THIS DOES NOT STATE WHETHER OR NOT SEEING THIS PA WILL GET YOU THE CHARACTERS ENDING IN QUESTION. This will only state whether or not its required to get one of the two achievements mentioned above. - Comments: Any other miscellaneous info I need to throw out there. --BEFORE LEAVING AEOS-- -------------------------------- 1) The Beautiful Flowers of Aeos -------------------------------- Available: After promoting Edge to captain of the Calnus - Disappears: As soon as you take off from Aeos - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: Run back to the east side of Urd Falls Cave. You should see a purple exclamation point in a patch of flowers. - Answer to choose: "You're really beautiful Reimi." - Affinity Change: Edge: +1 Reimi Reimi: +2 Edge - Affect Future PAs: No - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: If you choose the other 2 options, affinity for both characters goes down by either 1 or 2 points respectively. There should be no reason not to choose the correct one for this PA unless you really don't want to get Reimi's Ending Achievement. Also, after viewing this PA, you can immediately pair Edge and Reimi together if you wish (Good God theyre already getting it on). Note Faize is available to room with Edge even before this PA (WTF?) -------------------------------- --) Welch, meet Faize -------------------------------- Available: Before leaving Aeos - Disappears: After the fifth "leg" of the flight from Aeos to Lemuris - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: Before leaving Aeos, or anytime on the trip from Aeos to Lemuris, go activate the synthesis module in the meeting area of the Calnus - Answer to choose: None - Affinity Change: None - Affect Future PAs: No - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: RAWR! I am not sure what triggers it but I think its a 2nd+ playthrough PA only. Of course it is with Welch so it does not affect anything. Except Edge's view of her (har har) ------------------------------- ------------------------------- --ON FLIGHT FROM AEOS TO LEMURIS-- -------------------------------- 2) Nobody likes Shimada -------------------------------- Available: On-route from Aeos to Lemuris, 1st "leg" of flight - Disappears: After the first "leg" of the flight - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: Walk up to Reimi at her seat and interact. Advances to 5th "leg." - Answer to choose: "....I'm sorry that happened Faize." - Affinity Change: Edge: +1 Faize Reimi: None Faize: +2 Edge - Affect Future PAs: No - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: History lessons are fun ------------------------------- ------------------------------- -------------------------------- 5) Swords > Guns? -------------------------------- Available: On-route from Aeos to Lemuris, 5th "leg" of flight - Disappears: After the fifth "leg" of the flight - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: After the 4th leg, leave the recreation room and then re-enter Then Talk to Reimi or Faize in the recreation room. Advances to landing on Lemuris. - Answer to choose: "Well, there was a bit of trauma I went through...." - Affinity Change: Edge: +1 Reimi, +1 Faize Reimi: +1 Edge Faize: +1 Edge - Affect Future PAs: Yes - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: While both options results in an affinity boost all around, choosing this one will open up a new PA after landing on Lemuris which results in more opportunities to gain affinity points for Edge and Faize. ------------------------------- ------------------------------- --AFTER LANDING ON LEMURIS AND MEETING LYMLE-- -------------------------------- 6) Faize Likes to Talk Pt. 1 -------------------------------- Available: After landing on Lemuris and meeting Lymle - Disappears: After clearning the Cardianon Mothership - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: After landing on Lemuris and meeting Lymle, return to the Calnus and head into Faize's room. - Answer to choose: None - Affinity Change: Edge: +1 Faize Reimi: None Faize: +1 Edge Lymle: None - Affect Future PAs: Yes - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: Boy he likes to talk. ------------------------------- ------------------------------- -------------------------------- 7) Faize Likes to Talk Pt. 2 -------------------------------- Available: After landing on Lemuris and meeting Lymle and viewing Pt. 1 - Disappears: After clearning the Cardianon Mothership - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: After Pt. 1 is finished, turn around and head right back into Faize's room. - Answer to choose: None - Affinity Change: Edge: +1 Faize Reimi: None Faize: +1 Edge Lymle: None - Affect Future PAs: No - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: I am the offspring of C.C. and Lelouch ------------------------------- ------------------------------- -------------------------------- 8) Faize's Apologizes Again -------------------------------- Available: After landing on Lemuris and meeting Lymle and viewing Pts. 1 &2 AND HAVING ANSWERED "There was a bit of trauma...." back on the flight from Aeos to Lemuris - Disappears: After clearning the Cardianon Mothership - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: After Pts. 1 & 2 are finished, turn around and head right back into Faize's room. - Answer to choose: "Theres nothing to apologize for." - Affinity Change: Edge: None Reimi: None Faize: +4 Edge Lymle: None - Affect Future PAs: No - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: While both answers give a boost to Faize's affinity for Edge, the answer listed above gives four points, while the other only nets you two. Either way, Edge and Faize have more affinity for each other then Edge and Reimi now......I dont like where this is going. ------------------------------- ------------------------------- -------------------------------- 9) Space Bonding Couples -------------------------------- WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! VERY EASY TO MISS! - Available: After clearing the crashed Cardianon mothership on Lemuris and saying your goodbyes to Lymle's grandpa. (T_T) - Disappears: After setting a course to Cardianon. - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! VERY EASY TO MISS. Before setting a course for Cardianon, choose to return to Aeos and head back into the base. Visit Commander Grafton in the communications room and speak to him. - Answer to choose: "You knew, sir!?" - Affinity Change: Edge: +1 Reimi Reimi: +2 Edge Faize: None Lymle: None - Affect Future PAs: YES (still in testing) - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: This PA pisses me off. For one, if you accidently set course for the Cardianon, you've missed it. Two, I cant figure out if JUST seeing this PA affects another one at the very end of the game, or if you have to see this PA AND answer correctly as well. Either way, view this PA and choose the answer listed above for now if you want to maximize your affinity and unlock future PAs down the line. ------------------------------- ------------------------------- --IN ROUTE BETWEEN LEMURIS AND THE CARDIANON MOTHERSHIP-- -------------------------------- --) Welch, meet Lymle -------------------------------- - Available: Anytime on route between Lemuris and the Cardianon mothership - Disappears: After landing on the Cardianon mothership. - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: Visit the item synthesis terminal after Lymle permanently joins the group. - Answer to choose: None - Affinity Change: None - Affect Future PAs: No - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: Im not a kid, kay? ------------------------------- ------------------------------- -------------------------------- 10) At Least it isn't Shimada! -------------------------------- Available: On-route from Lemuris to Cardianon, 1st "leg" of flight - Disappears: After the first "leg" of the flight - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: Walk up to Reimi at her seat and interact. Advances to second "leg." - Answer to choose: None - Affinity Change: Edge: None Reimi: +1 Edge (maybe) Faize: +1 Edge (maybe) Lymle: +1 Edge (maybe) - Affect Future PAs: No - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: I don't believe you actually gain any affinity from your other crew members but even if you do, it is so insignificant it doesnt really matter. ------------------------------- ------------------------------- -------------------------------- 11) Reimi's Special Day -------------------------------- Available: On-route from Lemuris to Cardianon, 2nd "leg" of flight - Disappears: After the second "leg" of the flight - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: Talk to Reimi in the recreation room. Advances to third "leg." - Answer to choose: "It's your birthday!" - Affinity Change: Edge: +1 Reimi Reimi: +2 Edge Faize: None Lymle: None - Affect Future PAs: YES - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: Be sure to choose the answer listed above if you want to see a hidden PA later in the game, as choosing anything else negates it. However, if you hate Reimi, and are trying to avoid getting her ending, tell her "its the last day of her diet." (lulz) ------------------------------- ------------------------------- -------------------------------- 12) Practice! Practice! -------------------------------- Available: On-route from Lemuris to Cardianon, 3rd "leg" of flight - Disappears: After the third "leg" of the flight - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: Head to the meeting room where the Item Creation terminal is and speak to Lymle. Advances to the 4th "leg." - Answer to choose: None - Affinity Change: Edge: +1 Faize, +1 Lymle Reimi: None Faize: +1 Edge, +1 Lymle Lymle: +1 Edge, +1 Faize - Affect Future PAs: Yes - Required for Hidden Endings: YES! WARNING! YES! WARNING! YES! WARNING! - Comments: This is the first of eight PAs required to see to get the hidden "Faize's Ending" achievement. Be sure to see this PA. ------------------------------- ------------------------------- -------------------------------- 13) I Messed Up, kay! -------------------------------- Available: On-route from Lemuris to Cardianon, 4th "leg" of flight - Disappears: After the fourth "leg" of the flight - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: Head to the recreation room and speak to.....well its very very painfully obvious. Advances to the 5th "leg." - Answer to choose: None - Affinity Change: Edge: None Reimi: None Faize: +1 Lymle Lymle: +1 Faize - Affect Future PAs: No - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: Despite most people believing that his PA is required to be seen to get Faize's hidden ending, it is not. However, it is good to see it so that you can get Faize and Lymle closer as you will need them to be able to room together ASAP. ------------------------------- ------------------------------- -------------------------------- 14) Crowe Kicked Your Butt -------------------------------- Available: On-route from Lemuris to Cardianon, 5th "leg" of flight - Disappears: After the fifth "leg" of the flight - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: Head to the battle simulator room and speak to Reimi. Advances to the sixth "leg." - Answer to choose: None - Affinity Change: Edge: +1 Reimi Reimi: +1 Edge Faize: None Lymle: None - Affect Future PAs: No - Required for Hidden Endings: YES! WARNING! YES! WARNING! YES! WARNING! - Comments: This is one of the PAs that is required to achieve "Crowe's Ending" achievement. Do not miss it or you will be sorry. Such a cookie cutter relationship between the two. This is not a required PA to see the final Reimi PA that gives tons of people trouble on the forums. But to be safe, view it anyway. ------------------------------- ------------------------------- -------------------------------- 15) Cookies! -------------------------------- Available: On-route from Lemuris to Cardianon, 6th "leg" of flight - Disappears: After the 6th "leg" of the flight - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: Head to the recreation room and talk to the party. Advances to the Cardianon Mothership. - Answer to choose: None - Affinity Change: Edge: +1 Reimi, +1 Faize, +1 Lymle Reimi: +1 Edge, +1 Faize, +1 Lymle Faize: +1 Edge, +1 Reimi, +1 Lymle Lymle: +1 Edge, +1 Reimi, +2 Faize - Affect Future PAs: No - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: Another good PA, but not required for anything major. However, lots of affinity points for Lymle towards Faize which helps later on down the line. See this PA. ------------------------------- ------------------------------- -------------------------------- 16) What is this Contraption? -------------------------------- Available: While exploring the Cardianon Mothership in the Biological Laboratory. - Disappears: After clearing the Cardianon mothership - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: Examine the vending machine on the Cardianon mothership, then examine it again to trigger it. It needs to be the vending machine you see on the way through the biological laboratory, not the first one you see on the ship (Bacchus isnt in your party then). - Answer to choose: None - Affinity Change: Edge: +1 Lymle, +1 Bacchus Reimi: None Faize: None Lymle: +1 Edge, +1 Bacchus Bacchus: +1 Edge, +1 Lymle - Affect Future PAs: No - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: How do I buy things? ------------------------------- ------------------------------- --ON ROUTE FROM CARDIANON MOTHERSHIP TO EN II/EARTH-- -------------------------------- --) Welch, meet Bacchus -------------------------------- Available: On route from Cardianon mothership to En II/Earth - Disappears: After detouring to Earth - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: Examine the IC terminal to introduce Bacchus to Welch - Answer to choose: None - Affinity Change: None - Affect Future PAs: No - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: One of the best PAs in the entire game. Bacchus is a sucker for maids and "moe" little sisters. ------------------------------- ------------------------------- -------------------------------- 17) Shutup Shimada -------------------------------- Available: On route from Cardianon mothership to En II/Earth, 1st "leg" of flight. - Disappears: After 1st "leg" of flight. - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: Examine Reimi's seat on the bridge to patch the call through to Shimada. Advances to 2nd "leg." - Answer to choose: None - Affinity Change: Edge: None Reimi: +1 Edge Faize: None Lymle: None Bacchus: None - Affect Future PAs: No - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: How did I become commander? Nothing big here. Tiny affinity boost for Edge from Reimi. ------------------------------- ------------------------------- -------------------------------- 18-A) A Game of Chess, Mr. Edge? -------------------------------- Available: On route from Cardianon mothership to En II/Earth, 2nd "leg" of flight - Disappears: After 2nd "leg" of flight. - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: Talk to Bacchus in the recreation room sitting at the table. Advances to third "leg" of flight. - Answer to choose: None - Affinity Change: Edge: +2 Bacchus Reimi: None Faize: None Lymle: None Bacchus: +2 Edge - Affect Future PAs: Yes - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: This is the first PA in the game where you have multiple choices to make to advance to the next "leg" of the flight. To me, in my multiple play throughs this is the better of the PAs to choose then 18-B as its harder to raise affinity through Bacchus throughout the game, and Lymle and Faize are quite easy to get affinity with. If you are trying to get all the endings in one playthrough, I prefer to choose this one. Plus it affects another 2 PAs you can get later on through the game. ------------------------------- ------------------------------- -------------------------------- 18-B) The Squabbling Duo -------------------------------- Available: On route from Cardianon mothership to En II/Earth, 2nd "leg" of flight - Disappears: After 2nd "leg" of flight. - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: Talk to Lymle and Faize in the meeting room, advances to 3rd "leg" of flight. - Answer to choose: None - Affinity Change: Edge: +1 Lymle Reimi: None Faize: +1 Edge Lymle: +1 Edge Bacchus: None - Affect Future PAs: No - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: Allow me to say this right now, this PA is not required to view to get Faize's ending. However, this PA does allow it easier to Faize and Lymle to room sooner. So if you are really worried about it, choose this PA other than the Bacchus one. However, there are plenty of other PAs to get affinity for these two, and Bacchus is cooler anyway. ------------------------------- ------------------------------- -------------------------------- 19) En garde, Edge -------------------------------- Available: On route from Cardianon mothership to En II/Earth, 3rd "leg" of flight - Disappears: After 3rd "leg" of flight. - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: Go into the northern storage room above the meeting room where the IC terminal is. You will have a duel against Faize. Advances to the 4th "leg" of flight. - Answer to choose: None - Affinity Change: Edge: +2 Faize (If Edge loses), +1 Faize (If Edge wins) Reimi: None Faize: +2 Edge (If you beat Faize), +1 Edge (If Faize wins), +1 Lymle (If Faize wins) Lymle: None Bacchus: None - Affect Future PAs: No - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: A little different PA this time around as a duel takes place. No matter what the outcome, Edge and Faize grow closer, but whoever loses thinks twice as much as the winner then the other way around. In order to let Faize gain some much needed affinity points with Lymle to help with later PAs, it may be prudent to let Faize win, but it isnt required. ------------------------------- ------------------------------- -------------------------------- 20) Just a cat......WAIT! -------------------------------- Available: On route from Cardianon mothership to En II/Earth, 4th "leg" of flight - Disappears: After 4th "leg" of flight. - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: Head to the very back of the ships bedroom area to the womans shower room to see. THIS PA DOES NOT ADVANCE THE "LEG" OF FLIGHT. Therefore you can see both PAs on this leg if you wish by viewing this one FIRST. - Answer to choose: None - Affinity Change: Edge: None Reimi: -3 Edge Faize: None Lymle: None Bacchus: None - Affect Future PAs: No - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: Ouch, Reimis affinity falls a nasty bit for Edge here if you decide to take a peek on her while in the shower. However, it is no big deal as you gain way too many affinity points with her throughout the game and does not affect any future PAs. The BradyGames guide to SO4 says that you must choose the "Stars" option to unlock the final PA in the game. This is false. The correct answer you want to choose is "marry." Please do not email me, or make a topic on the message board stating you got the final PA on the ship by choosing the "stars" option, because if you did you got lucky. Throughout the 7 times I have played through this game, the 3 times I chose "stars" I never got the final PA between Edge and Reimi. The 4 times I chose "marry" I did. Therefore, as of right now, this is the option you want to choose to get the final PA between Edge and Reimi on the Calnus after crashing onto Nox Obscurus. Unfortunately, the "stars" option has the better dialogue of the two options and makes so much more sense for the love between the two. This one lasts for two legs, but ONLY if you chose the hidden event of sleeping with Meracle above in 37-B, otherwise this is the only PA that will be available this leg. Since you most likely did chose 37-B, proceed to do 38-B first, and then come back and do this one. I know that sounds confusing, but just scroll down to 38-B and do that one first, then scroll back up and read this one. Advances to 7th or 8th "leg" of flight depending on what PAs you did before this one. - Answer to choose: Your choice, however, if you are going for all endings in one playthrough, "They look really beautiful" is the best as you need the Meracle points and already have plenty with Lymle. Then come back and view it. ------------------------------- ------------------------------- --END OF NORMAL PAs --CONTINUE ON FOR FUNERAL BOUQUET PAs ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 7. Funeral Bouquet Private Actions ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So what are the Funeral Bouquet Private Actions you ask? They are optional PAs (all PAs are optional I guess) but these moreso that help you raise affinity with certain characters. Some you definitely want to do (like Sarah, Meracle, Myuria, and Arumat). But others such as Bacchus, Lymle, and Reimi arent really required due to you already having lots of affinity points with them. However, those of you who are scared and those of you who want to see everything should do them anyway.....I did. Each Funeral Bouquet PA requires one "Funeral Bouquet" item in your inventory. The materials are found all over but most of them you can get in En IIs Sanctuary. To start, you can get a free Funeral Bouquet as well as the recipe from Myurias's friend in Metropolis. She is in the center of the map standing in front of the store entrance somewhat. Talk to her and you will get one Funeral Bouquet for free as well as the recipe to make more. This is required if you want to see Crowe's ending as you will need a funeral bouquet. In short: --SAVE 1 FUNERAL BOUQUET FOR CROWE'S ENDING PA!-- --SAVE 1 FUNERAL BOUQUET FOR CROWE'S ENDING PA!-- --SAVE 1 FUNERAL BOUQUET FOR CROWE'S ENDING PA!-- --SAVE 1 FUNERAL BOUQUET FOR CROWE'S ENDING PA!-- If you wish to see ALL the endings in one playthrough. I strongly recommend making 7 more for a total of 8 bouquets. However, this requires a lot of backtracking to the Calnus to reset harvesting points. The choice is yours to make. To make a funeral bouquet you need the following: --Dendronium X 1 (Tatroi and Tropps harvesting points) --Blue Rose X 2 (Found in En II's sanctuary harvesting points) --Velvet Ribbon X 1 (Shop Masterful Materials in En II Metropolis) Got your 8 Funeral Bouquets made? Good, lets go do them. -------------------------------- --) FB#1 - Lymle -------------------------------- - Available: After defeating the Grigori in the sanctuary - Disappears: After beating the game - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: With a funeral bouquet in your inventory, head to Lemuris and examine Ghimdo's grave. - Answer to choose: None - Affinity Change: Edge: +3 Lymle Reimi: None Faize: None Lymle: +3 Edge Bacchus: None Meracle: None Myuria: None Sarah: None Arumat: None - Affect Future PAs: No - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: Such a sad tale. ------------------------------- ------------------------------- -------------------------------- --) FB#2 - Reimi -------------------------------- - Available: After defeating the Grigori in the sanctuary - Disappears: After beating the game - Reappearing: No - How to trigger: With a funeral bouquet in your inventory, head to Aeos and examine the North side of the destroyed base (you will see an exclamation mark) - Answer to choose: None - Affinity Change: Edge: +1 Reimi Reimi: None Faize: None Lymle: None Bacchus: None Meracle: None Myuria: None Sarah: None Arumat: None - Affect Future PAs: No - Required for Hidden Endings: No - Comments: Wow a single point for Reimi who we already have a billion for. The Final Reimi PA Conundrum ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ As stated many times earlier in this FAQ, many users were falsely led to believe that in order to achieve Reimi's final PA they had to choose the answer, "Take you to the stars" in one of the earlier PAs in the game by the official BradyGames strategy guide. This is incorrect. Or at least it is in the 7 times Ive played through the game. In order to get the PA, the one fact I know for sure is that you must choose "I would marry you." in that PA instead. Yes, the dialogue is better if you choose the stars option, yes it should have been the correct answer to get the final PA with Reimi, but it isnt. Blame Tri-Ace, or BradyGames, or God, or whatever it is you may worship, this is my experience with it and I am sticking to it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 9.
