Welcome to my Siren: Blood Curse guide, fellow survival horror fan. - Berserker
===============================================================================

                - - Will you resist the call... again? - -

To this day, the original Siren/Forbidden Siren still stands as one of the most
unique survival horror games that I have played. The branching story,
presentation and overall atmosphere were all truly horrific. Even though the
gameplay could get quite frustrating if you didn't know the exact layout of an
area along with its enemies, it included some unique elements such as sight-
jacking, which allowed one to see through the eyes of an enemy and who could
ever forget playing hiding seek with mother, father and sister shibito with
Hirumi!

Fast forward four years later after the release of the original Siren to the
year 2008 and PlayStation 3 owners are now graced with a full remake of the
original Siren entitled "Siren: Blood Curse" available only on the PlayStation
Store of the PlayStation Network. This remake changes the whole control setup
giving players tighter controls that respond much more fluidly and there is now
less emphasis on constant running and hiding and switching to sight jacking
every 10 seconds. Sight jacking now has a split screen appearance where you
can control the current character while looking through the eyes of a shibito.

-- What is a shibito?

Shibito are undead husks of the people they once were. They are walking
corpses fueled by evil and hate.

Survival horror is my personal favorite genre to write for and hopefully it
will show off in this guide. In the Basics section, you'll find the overall
basic setup of controls for the game, the walkthrough section lists out every
archive file, weapon and special tasks used to unlock other archive files
within. The Archive section compiles all the special tasks used to unlock
archive files along with a complete list of all the archive files and archive
weapons that can be collected throughout the game. Feel free to email me at my
email address listed in the contact info or beginning of this guide if you have
any questions and, as always, thanks for reading!

Saving the Game
===============

Siren: Blood Curse has an auto-save system that will save your progress
automatically from the last checkpoint once you turn off the game. The game
will allow the player to choose from starting at a checkpoint previously
reached or starting the entire chapter over once you begin a chapter that you
previously quit.

===========
Checkpoints
===========

Once you reach a certain portion of a stage, a checkpoint will eventually
activate. Anytime your character is defeated, you will return to the previous
checkpoint that was activated prior to dying. If you quit the game during the
middle of a chapter then you will have the option to begin from a previously
passed checkpoint on the chapter that you were previously playing if one has
been activated.

=============
Melee Weapons
=============

Melee weapons have a variety of attacks that can be performed in the following
ways:

a) Press the attack button once for a single strike.
b) Press the attack button multiple times for a three hit combo attack
c) Press forward + attack for a lunging attack
d) Hold the attack button for a strong attack

========
Firearms
========

- Firing a shot

Hold the L1 button to enter aiming mode then tap the attack button to fire.

Tap the /\ button or flick the controller up and to the left while aiming to
reload.

- Performing Melee attacks

Tap the [] button while not aiming to perform a single strike melee attack.

Press forward + attack while not aiming to perform a lunging melee attack.

- Zooming with a weapon

While holding certain weapon (shotgun, rifle) hold the L1 button to enter
aiming mode then tap D-pad up to zoom in and D-pad down to zoom out.

===========================
The Importance of Crouching
===========================

Tap the O button to switch between a crouching and standing stance. While
crouching, your character will move much more quietly and be able to sneak up a
behind an enemy for a surprise attack. Your character can also crouch and move
behind some objects to avoid detection. Crouching is very essential for moving
around quietly as the episodes progress and the number of shibito as well as
the varieties of them increase.

===========================
Getting up from a Knockdown
===========================

Whenever your character is knocked down by an enemy attack, shake the
controller to quickly get up as the controller icon appears.

======================
Interacting with Doors
======================

Wait for a button icon to appear while standing next to a door then:

Tap the X button to open a door.

Press and hold the /\ button to brace a door then shake the controller to
struggle against any enemy that tries to open the door.

Locks on some doors can be broken by approaching the lock on a door and hitting
it with melee attacks from a weapon.

======================================
Unlocking and Interacting with Devices
======================================

Some interactive objects require your character to stand in place and rotate or
tinker with a device while you hold the /\ button. There type of interactive
objects leave your character wide open, so make sure no other enemy is in the
immediate area, or at least make sure that the surrounding enemies are
preoccupied.

==========
Sight Jack
==========

Controls for sight jack:

L2 = Begin sight jack/Cancel sight jack
R2 = Immediately sight jack nearest shibito or currently alert shibito
L1 = Switch to another shibito
R1 = Switch to another shibito
[] = Lock-on to sight jacked shibito

Starting on Episode 2, Chapter 4, press the L2 button at any time to begin a
sight jack. This will bring up a dual screen format where the normal camera
angle will be displayed on the left and another camera will be displayed on the
right. Tap either the L1 or R1 button to cycle between shibito and allies.
Tap the R2 button to immediately switch to the closest shibito or an alert
shibito. Once you have found an ally or shibito's view that you want to lock-
on to, tap the [] button to lock-on to that view and it will be displayed on
the right screen while you have the option to move freely on the left side of
the screen. Tapping the L2 button once again will cancel the sight jack
ability at any time.

To sight jack multiple targets, press and hold the /\, O or X buttons while
cycling through the different views with the R1 or L1 buttons to assign a sight
jack target shortcut to that one target. After one target is locked with a
button, switch between the other targets and assign them to a different button.
With this system, you can have a total of three targets sight jacked at one
time. All the three target viewpoints will be displayed on the right side of
the screen. You cannot move with three targets sight jacked however. Press
the button of choice (/\, O or X) to lock-on to one of the three views then tap
the [] button to be able to move while sight jacking the one chosen view. To
pull up all three again, simply tap L2 to exit sight jack then press L2 again
to bring up the three views. In order to cancel a view, you'll need to
overwrite it by using the R1 or L1 button to switch to another view, then hold
either /\, O or X to overwrite whichever of the three views you want to delete.
The only bad part about multiple views is that the animation is very choppy in
each view thanks to the extreme amount of movement at times.

=======
Archive
=======

The Archive menu is one of the submenus under the Select menu. All file
transcripts and weapon details will be added to a numbered slot up under the
archive menu. The full file and a description of each weapon may be viewed at
any time during gameplay under this menu.

================
Special Finishes
================

A few of the weapons have special finishes that can be initiated depending on
where and how you hit the enemy. Special Finishes will begin a cutscene that
will instantly defeat an enemy. Some Special Finishes can also be activated
while your character stands next to an obstacle and hits a shibito with a
particular weapon.

Below, I have listed a few examples. Just about every weapon has some type of
special finish however:

--> Metal Pipe

- Special Finish 1

Character(s): Sol Jackson
Mission Objective: Reunite with any survivors.

[ ] Goal: Reach East Shaft Level 5.

== West Shaft Level 3 ==

And here I thought Sol, didn't get any character development whatsoever before
his death. Ohohoho, what an awesome turn of events in story we have here!

The sight jack feature is still available even at this early time period. If
you sight jack then you'll find an ally in the area that appears to be staring
at a gate. The only foreseeable escape route is down the ladder up ahead of
Sol as he starts, so descend the ladder.

== West Shaft Level 4 ==

Continue down the tunnel to the southeast to trigger a cutscene. It seems that
Sam was the person that Sol could sight jack.

[ ] Sub Goal: Find a weapon.

[ ] Defeat the Shibito Woman serving as a lookout.

Move back toward the ladder then sight jack the shibito down the tunnel. Look
for the one that is moving down the tunnel - you'll notice him even better once
Sol is in his view. If you stand at the far end of the tunnel, by the ladder,
he will not see Sol while he moves down the tunnel and stops. Keep him sight
jacked and allow him to turn then, with Sol, crouch and follow behind him.
Move down the ladder to the left, but keep him sight jacked to notice that he
unlocks the storage room door further down the tunnel and enters the room - the
storage room has an archive file in it, so we'll get back to this later once
Sol has a weapon.

== West Shaft Level 2 ==

If you move down the path to the left and take the north path you'll stumble
across a shibito that is having a few drinks while his back is turned to Sol.
You need to sight jack the shibito down the east tunnel and move down that
tunnel. Notice that the shibito turns to his left briefly every few seconds -
this is Sol's location. Notice that there is a dead end tunnel in the south
that leads to a blood pool - this will be used in a moment. Move down the
tunnel and, when the digging shibito is not looking to his left, move toward
the right wall and wait for the "Turn off lights" command to appear then
quickly turn off the lights and move back down the tunnel. Step into the
tunnel with the red blood pool in the south.

The shibito will notice the lights then run to the controls and turn them back
on then he will move further down the tunnel to the west to investigate. When
he moves by the tunnel with the blood pool that you are in, crouch walk back
out of the tunnel and head down the tunnel to the east. You can go ahead and
release the sight jack after Sol moves by him. Go all the way to the East
Shaft Level 2.

== East Shaft Level 2 ==

Move up the stairs after rounding the corner at the end and pick up the --VIDEO
CAMERA (#30)--.

[X] Sub Goal: Find a weapon. COMPLETE

Why yes, it is actually a weapon! The fact that we can now beat down a shibito
with a high definition video camera pleases me even more greatly than the alto
recorder that Howard found in the Ito House!

If you move further up the stairs to the west, you'll soon see our first
victim. The shibito woman with her back turned serves as the lookout for the
shibito with the hunting rifle in the East Shaft Level 4, so sneak up behind
her and bang her in the head with Sol's video camera.

-----
- Special Finish

Requirement: Sneak up behind the female shibito that is near the ledge on the
north side of the Central Shaft and hit her with the video camera.

Description: Sol sneaks up behind the female shibito and hits her in the back
of the head with the camera then kicks her off the side of the ledge as she
struggles to hang on.
-----

[X] Sub Goal: Defeat the Shibito Woman serving as a lookout. COMPLETE

The hit from Sol will knock the female shibito down to the floor below. Don't
even bother with her nail hammer weapon - pathetic! Move back down the stairs
then go back down the tunnel to the west starting at the West Shaft Level 2.
The shibito that is digging with his mine pick will look off to the side
eventually, so sneak up on him at that time then hit him upside the head with
your camera. Move further down the tunnel and enter the last tunnel on the
right. Sneak up on the shibito that is drinking and attempt to hit him from
the back for a special finish.

-----
- Special Finish

Requirement: Sneak up behind the shibito that is drinking and hit him with the
camera.

Description: Sol hits the shibito in the back of the head with the camera then
kicks him onto a metal pipe that sticks out of some rock debris.
-----

Ah, that felt good. There are a few sake bottles in the area. Pick up each of
the sake bottles and move with each of them in hand until you hear a slight
jingle from the bottle. Once you hear a slight noise, turn to a wall and break
the sake bottle by hitting it against the wall then pick up the !!PUMPING
STATION KEY!! from the ground - this can be used to perform a key step for
obtaining an archive file in Episode 11, Chapter 2.

Go back to the ladder that you used to enter this lower floor of the mine then
climb it. While near the top of the ladder stop and watch for the shibito that
paces the corridor above to move by. Allow him to move toward the storage room
(to the left) then climb all the way up and follow him. There is no need to
sight jack. Right when he unlocks and opens the door to the storage room, move
behind him and bonk him in the back of the head with your video camera. Walk
over to the desk and collect the ++ATLANTIS MAGAZINE (#31)++ archive file.

== Central Shaft ==

Move down to East Shaft Level 4 and sight jack the shibito at the end of the
tunnel. This one is armed with a hunting rifle and he usually has his back
turned for quite a while, but he will turn eventually. Sneak up behind him
while his back is turned then clobber him in the back of the head with the
video camera. If you're not the patient type then you can make a dash toward
him and beat him down, but make sure that his back is not turned when you first
run toward him.

For no other reason other than being complete smartass, you can continue to the
far east end of East Shaft Level 4 and push the mine cart directly into the
shibito that you just knocked out with your camera! Picking up his hunting
rifle is rather useless since this portion of the chapter is basically over at
this point anyway - Sol will keep it for the next time that you play with him,
but you only have one shibito to take care of then. I would keep the video
camera if I were you. Climb the ladder near the end of the tunnel and enter
the elevator of East Shaft Level 5 to trigger a cutscene.

[X] Goal: Reach East Shaft Level 5. COMPLETE

Character(s): Sam Monroe

== Mining Office ==

[ ] Goal: Power on the elevator from the control panel.

[ ] Sub Goal: Leave the Mining Office without being noticed.
[ ] Sub Goal: Find A weapon.
[ ] Sub Goal: Knock out the Shibito in front of the control panel.

Wow, what a chapter! Now we are back in control of Sam Monroe. Ironically,
Sam will start right across from the goal area for this chapter. No, you can't
just run toward the control panel and turn it on since Sam will explain that
he... "Can't do that now" once you examine the control panel while the shibito
is alarmed. Meh!

Anyway, crouch walk toward the stairs behind the shibito and move up them.
While near the top of the stairs, stop and sight jack the shibito with the
hunting rifle that is on the bridge above the Mining Office. The door on the
southeast end of the Mining Office is open and the shibito on the bridge can
see Sam inside if the shibito is looking toward the Mining Office, so wait for
him to look toward the other end of the bridge then move out the back
(northwest) door of the Mining Office.

[X] Sub Goal: Leave the Mining Office without being noticed. COMPLETE

Note: To make this portion with Sam MUCH shorter, keep the shibito with the
hunting rifle sight jacked and move outside when he is not looking at the
Mining Office then grab either the Mining Pick near the tunnel to the south or
the Splitting Axe on the south end of the Mining Office then run back into the
mining office. You'll have a weapon, so all you have to do is go back down to
the basement and knock out the shibito then turn on the power to the elevator!

Run up the path and step onto the bridge then enter the West Shaft Upper Level.
If the shibito sees Sam then just run faster into the West Shaft Upper Level.
You can also keep him sight jacked and wait until he looks down toward the
Mining Office, but there is really no need to do that since he looses interest
in Sam rather quickly after spotting him when Sam steps out of sight. Find the
mine cart in the very back of the West Shaft Upper Level and push it from the
back end then get inside and ride it all the way to the East Shaft Upper Level
while it flies into the shibito with the hunting rifle - don't they ever learn?
Return to the knocked out shibito and grab the hunting rifle.

[X] Sub Goal: Find a weapon. COMPLETE

Return to the Mining Office and go back down to the basement then sneak up
behind the shibito at the control panel and blast him in the back with your
hunting rifle.

[X] Sub Goal: Knock out the Shibito in front of the control panel. COMPLETE

Walk toward the control panel after knocking him out and switch on the
elevators to activate another cutscene.

[X] Goal: Power on the elevator from the control panel.

[ ] Goal: Reunite with Sam Monroe.

[ ] Sub Goal: Head to the surface using Elevator A.

What an impressive chapter! Get inside Elevator A and press the button in the
back of the elevator to take it up to the East Shaft Upper Level.

[ ] Sub Goal: Head to the surface using Elevator A. COMPLETE

== East Shaft Upper Level ==

If you have the Pumping Station Key that you found by breaking sake bottles
below, then run over to door of the Pumping Station off to the right as you
exit the elevator and unlock it. Run to the back right portion of the room and
choose to drain the water via the water pump controls. This will drain the
blood pool in the mine area below and now an archive file in Episode 11,
Chapter 2 will be available once you play that chapter.

The shibito with the hunting rifle will be shooting at Sam from the bridge
regardless of whether you knocked him out and stole his hunting rifle or not
with Sam in the last gameplay portion. Move out of the elevator and sneak up
behind the shibito on the bridge then hit him in the back of the head with the
camera or just shoot him. If you hit him with the camera multiple times then
you'll be treated to a nice special finish!

-----
- Special Finish

Requirement: Sneak up behind the shibito and hit him a few times with the
camera and this will activate on the final hit.

Description: Sol hits the shibito in the back of the head with the camera and
knocks him to the bridge floor then Sol picks up the shibito and tosses him
over the side of the bridge. Hell yes!
-----

Sol can pick up the hunting rifle or not - it really doesn't matter since this
chapter is basically finished now. Run toward Sam or wait for him to run onto
the bridge to meet up with Sol and the chapter will end shortly.

[X] Goal: Reunite with Sam Monroe. COMPLETE

Character(s): Melissa Gale, Bella Monroe
Mission Objective: Escape to Karuwari with Bella Monroe.

== Room 303 ==

[ ] Goal: Escort Bella Monroe to the 1st floor Waiting Room.

This chapter is similar to the earlier chapters with Howard and Miyako in that
you now have a helpless partner that you must lead through an area along with
you. Keep in mind that Bella can't take damage - she dies instantly if a
shibito remains next to her for too long. The same D-pad commands still apply
to this chapter as they did with Howard and Miyako - D-pad right will make
Bella wait (or hide if a hiding spot is nearby. Keep Bella with Melissa and
open the door that leads out into the hall. There is no major threat in the
immediate hall outside. Don't try to go down the stairs since a nurse shibito
is on the lower staircase - she will be facing Melissa if you try to go down
the stairs.

== Third Floor Hallway ==

Tell Bella to wait on the current floor - you don't need to hide her anywhere.
Move up the stairs and exit out to the rooftop via the door at the top of the
stairs. Climb the metal crate to the right of the door as you exit out of the
door then climb up to the portion of the roof with the water tower. Walk over
to the water tower and find the valve handle then use the "Turn valve" command
to rotate the valve handle. This will help you to gain an item that will
unlock an archive item in Episode 12, Chapter 2 once Melissa and Bella exit out
to the front of the hospital. Fall back down to the rooftop afterwards.

Go back down to the third floor by moving back down the staircase. Tell Bella
to follow behind Melissa once again. The Nurse Station at the other end of the
hall is locked. Move out to the outside walkway at the very end of the hall to
the northwest. Find the opening in the floor to the right as you step out onto
the walkway. Move toward it then fall down to the second floor. Bella will
fall down with Melissa as well.

== Second Floor Hallway ==

Pick up the sake bottle next to the damaged doorway and enter the hallway of
the second floor. There is a nurse shibito standing near the bottom of the
stairs that leads up to the third floor but she has her back turned to the
hallway. Walk up to the nurse shibito and bust her in the back of the head
with the sake bottle to knock her out. The nurse shibito will turn very
slightly and look to the left a bit, so be careful while moving next to here.

Once the nurse shibito is knocked out, pick up her scalpel. Enter the women's
restroom (the door is open) further down the hall and pick up the --FLUORESCENT
BULB (#42)-- that leans on the left wall just for the sake of adding it to your
archive. Keep the scalpel since it will not break! There is another nurse
shibito that paces back and forth down the east hall and she will look down the
west hall, so be careful while sneaking into the women's restroom. Sight jack
this shibito and wait for her to walk down the east hall by the nurse's station
then quickly crouch and sneak by her while Bella follows and move down
Staircase B. If she notices either of you then slash her with the scalpel.

While on the first floor, find Staircase C to the south of the current
staircase and move down that set of stairs. This will take Melissa and Bella
to the basement. There is no immediate threat in the basement besides some
sort of shibito that is stuck in the elevator, but she can't get out for now
anyway. Run over to the Incinerator Room and pick up the iron poker inside the
bucket in the back of the Incinerator Room. Tell Bella to hide in the
incinerator and a cutscene will play. You will receive the ++JOYLINK - ULTRA
NETWORK KING - (#32)++ archive file after the cutscene that plays while Bella
is hidden inside the incinerator. Go back up to the first floor using
Staircase A but crouch and stand at the bottom of the second set of stairs.

A nurse shibito is inside of the pharmacy on the first floor across from the
staircase, so sight jack her. She will drop a --CHAMBER POT (#41)-- once she
is knocked out, so it is best to knock her out, so you can pick up the weapon
and add it to your archive menu. Wait for her to turn her back then enter the
pharmacy then beat her with your iron poker. Be sure to keep the iron poker.
Lead Bella over to the sliding doors of the Waiting Room at the front of the
hospital and examine the sliding doors to trigger a cutscene.

[X] Goal: Escort Bella Monroe to the 1st floor Waiting Room. COMPLETE

== Reception ==

[ ] Goal: Escape from the Saiga Hospital.

[ ] Sub Goal: Restore power to the building.

Melissa will start out in the reception area after the cutscene and she will
now have the !!POWER ROOM KEY!!. She will leave Bella in the reception area
for now.

== First Floor Hallway ==

The sliding doors have no power, so we'll have to find the Power Room and
activate the power in order to open them. The Power Room is in the basement.
On your way to the stairs, step into the men's restroom and pick up the --
WHISKEY BOTTLE (#43)-- near the urinals on the left to add it to your archive
menu. Keep the scalpel with you. Walk to the far southeast of the first floor
hallway and move down Staircase C.

== Basement ==

Staircase C will take Melissa down to the basement and lead her directly to the
Power Room. If haven't gotten the iron poker out of the Incinerator Room then
you might want to go grab it now. A nurse shibito paces up and down the middle
hall of the basement at this time, so be careful.

Unlock the door to the Power Room using the Power Room Key then open the door
then step inside. Walk over to the open electrical box for a "Turn on power"
command. Turn on the power!

[X] Sub Goal: Restore power to the building. COMPLETE

-- CHECKPOINT --

== Basement ==

[ ] Sub Goal: Reunite with Bella Monroe.

Walk out the door and a cutscene will trigger. Oh, that's not that good! The
gate now keeps Melissa from entering the rest of the basement. Run up the
stairs of Staircase C once again to get back up to the first floor.

== First Floor Hallway ==

Sol is working his way into the hospital starting from room 203, just like he
did in an earlier chapter. When Melissa reaches the first floor, a gate will
block her path once again. Open the door to the Surgery Prep Room and go
through the Operating Room to reach the other side of the First Floor Hallway.
The door to the elevator will open as soon as Melissa exits from the Operating
Room.

Thankfully, there is only a rabid nurse shibito in the elevator, so floor her
with your current weapon as she runs toward Melissa. If you look to the left,
you'll be able to catch a quick glimpse of Bella through the gate. Press the
elevator button to open the elevator doors then take it up to the second floor.

== Second Floor Hallway ==

Sol will rush out of Room 203 and he will look straight toward Bella down the
hall to your right. Don't just run up and attack him. This man- errr, shibito
still has that video camera and he knows how to use it. Walk toward him and
wait for him to swing then run up to him and slash him with the scalpel or
knock some sense into him with the iron poker and keep hitting him and you'll
eventually knock him out.

Bella will run down to the basement. Oh, great! Yeah, that's perfect Bella...
Get back in the elevator and take it down to the basement. There is a nurse
shibito wandering the main basement corridor so get ready to knock her out.
Bella's hiding place in the basement will change during each playthrough.
Switch to sight jack mode and find her while switching through targets - the
green light will show her location while in sight jack mode. She's usually in
a locker. Walk up next to her hiding place and she will step out into the
open.

[X] Sub Goal: Reunite with Bella. COMPLETE

== Basement ==

Take Bella with you and run to Staircase A in the basement. Run up the stairs
of Staircase A and stop on the first floor. Quickly move over to the sliding
entrance doors in the Waiting Room and examine them.

[ ] Sub Goal: Remove the obstacle blocking the automatic door.

== First Floor Hallway ==

Lead Bella over to the men's restroom on the current floor and have her follow
Melissa over to the stall inside then give the command for her to hide inside
with D-pad right. Bella cannot go the same way that Melissa goes so make sure
to hide her. Melissa needs to get to Room 203. Run up the stairs of Staircase
A and step onto the second floor.

== Second Floor Hallway ==

Sol will most likely be revived by now so prepare to knock him out once again -
he'll learn to fear the wrath of Ms. Gale yet! Step into Room 203 then run
over to the damaged window for a "Leave" command. Step through the window
using the command. On the outside walkway, run over to the metal crate in the
southwest and fall down to it then step to the courtyard below. Move over to
the sliding doors and pick up the parking sign weapon that is jamming the
doors.

[X] Sub Goal: Remove the obstacle blocking the automatic door. COMPLETE

With your trusty parking sign in hand, run back into the first floor of the
hospital and find Bella - if you took my advice then run into the men's
restroom and give her the command to come out of the stall.

Run back out of the hospital with Bella following behind. If you turned the
valve handle of the water tank on the rooftop at the starting of this chapter
then walk over to the gated area to the right of the Employee Staircase. A
cutscene will play where Bella will pull a key out of a drainage opening in the
ground. This will unlock the method for obtaining an archive item in Episode
12, Chapter 2.

Run over to the front gate and open it to end this chapter!

[X] Goal: Escape from the Saiga Hospital. COMPLETE

[ ] Sub Goal: Pass through the Iron Gate.

== Outside Irazu Valley Church ==

This chapter plays much like the last chapter, in that you are in control of
Melissa once again and you must lead Bella through a shibito-filled environment
so that you both reach safety. You'll have to lift Bella up some tall objects
at some parts of this stage, so just remember to step toward her and press the
X button to help her up at that time. Both Melissa and Bella will start
outside the doors of the Irazu Valley Church.

You'll more than likely feel inclined to take the path in front of the church
doors to the south - I mean, who wouldn't!? It leads almost right to your
destination! Well, the problem is that there are two shibito that way and the
shibito female will easily notice Melissa as she moves down the path. Sadly
you're defenseless at the moment so...

Move down the path to the northwest of the church. Drop down to the portion of
the path in front of the Fuel Storage then drop to the front of the Fuel
Storage. Pick up the froe axe off the ground in front of the fuel storage -
there is a hacksaw nearby also but you'll want the stronger froe axe.

[X] Sub Goal: Find a weapon. COMPLETE

DO NOT step out from the cover of the Fuel Storage since there is a shibito
with a hunting rifle along the high path in the east that will pace back and
forth along the path and look down toward the bridge that is in front of the
Fuel Storage.

While in sight jack mode, find the shibito with the hunting rifle in the east.
You'll see him look toward the Fuel Storage and should be able to see a blue
and green light representing Melissa and Bella. If he happens to see you then
stand by the Fuel Storage to get out of his sight. Wait for him to turn away
from the Fuel Storage then quickly crouch and move across the bridge then down
the path on the other side of the bridge. Stop and stay crouched next to the
right wall once you reach the red barrel. The small wall along the side will
keep Melissa and Bella out of his vision as he continues to look around the
area. If you move on ahead while he turns then you risk him seeing you.

When the shibito turns to move back toward the bridge near the Fuel Storage,
continue to the move toward the Dilapidated Shed in the east. Move down the
path that leads down to the shed and defeat the female shibito in front of the
shed. You might want to defeat the female shibito along the higher path to the
southwest of the shed also. Return to the Dilapidated Shed and stand in front
of the southwest corner of the shed then move away just a bit to get an
"Examine" command. Examine the ground in that location and a cutscene will
trigger then you will receive ++HOWARD WRIGHT'S CELL PHONE (#34)++ after the
cutscene. Take Bella across the bridge with Melissa and you'll enter the East
Fields.

[X] Sub Goal: Reach the East Fields. COMPLETE

== East Fields ==

There is a shibito that walks around the center portion of the East Fields and
pulls grass up from the ground. He should have his back to Melissa and Bella
as you walk around the east side, so simply sneak up on him and take him down
with the froe axe. Climb up the hilly area in the west portion of the East
Fields and make your way to the Iron Gate. Don't step in front of the iron
gate since a female shibito looks toward the gate from the other side at times
and the male shibito on the other side will look directly at it eventually.
Sight jack the male shibito on the other side of the gate - the shibito that
moves up and down the path in front of the church. As you can see after sight
jacking him, he will meet up with the female shibito on the other side and the
female shibito will be staring toward the iron gate while he is near.

Wait for the male shibito to turn and begin to move back toward the church then
step through the iron gate and quickly defeat the female shibito then move up
the path in front of the church and knock out the male shibito. Return to the
female shibito's body and pick up the --WATER LADLE (#12)-- to add it to your
archive menu but be sure to keep the froe axe.

[X] Sub Goal: Pass through the Iron Gate. COMPLETE

[X] Goal: Reach the West Fields. COMPLETE

-- CHECKPOINT --

== West Fields ==

[ ] Goal: Reach the Road to Tabori.

[ ] Sub Goal: Knock over the rotting tree to create a bridge.

Step down the hills in the west and continue to the northwest. A cutscene will
trigger eventually.

[ ] Sub Goal: Draw the Maggot Shibito away from Bella Monroe.
[ ] Sub Goal: Knock over the oil drum.

You will automatically receive the ++CIGARETTE LIGHTER (#35)++ archive file
after the cutscene. The set of goals for this chapter will change directly
after the cutscene since Bella will be danger as a maggot shibito interrupts
Melissa and Bella's progress.

The maggot shibito will start out by pulling up a grave marker to use as a
weapon then it will walk toward Bella as this next gameplay portion begins. If
the maggot shibito stands near Bella for too long then Bella dies. It is very
important that you keep the maggot shibito away from Bella by hitting it with
your currently equipped weapon when it gets near her.

There are a total of three oil drums that must be knocked over at this part. I
recommend knocking over the oil drum on the hill in front of the shed first of
all! Run over to the hill and climb it then stand in front of the oil drum to
get a "Knock over oil drum" command. Melissa will turn the oil drum over and
it will fall down to the puddle of water below.

Right after you knock the first oil drum over, run back to Bella and the maggot
shibito should be moving near her at that time. Hit the maggot shibito three
times to make it target Melissa and follow her. Run to the furthest oil drum
on the current ground level and turn it over. The maggot shibito should move
almost right next to Melissa by the time she finishes. Directly after turning
it over, run over to the other oil drum and turn it over then a cutscene will
trigger. Sometimes the maggot shibito will step down the hill to the west
fields to try to reach Melissa allowing you a straight path to the final oil
barrel.

Alternate Method:

Another way I have found to perform this part is to run toward the closest
barrel at the beginning and turn it over then run toward the next barrel in the
distance and turn it over as well. The maggot shibito will almost be up on
Bella at that time, so run toward her then hit her three times to make her
follow Melissa. Jump down the closest hill to the southeast that is right next
to Bella then run over to the northwest hill and step up both hills on that
side. The maggot will step down to the West Fields, so use that chance to
quickly climb up to the tall hill with the final oil barrel and knock it over.

No matter how you do this part, tricking the maggot shibito into dropping down
to the West Fields will stall her quite a bit and allow Melissa much more time
to turn over the barrels. DON'T sit down your controller anytime soon during
the cutscene that follows since a "Use Lighter" command will appear directly
after the cutscene and you must press it or die, so get ready to press the X
button to use the lighter and it will trigger a cutscene that will end this
current chapter.

You could actually let the maggot shibito drag Melissa along with her for a
while if you want. Don't let the maggot shibito step near Bella however or
Bella will die just like before and you'll have to turn barrels once again, my
friend!

Character(s): Seigo Saiga, Bella Monroe
Mission Objective: Help Bella Monroe escape and acquire the Ancient Book.

== Lookout Tower ==

[ ] Goal: Help Bella Monroe escape.

[ ] Sub Goal: Save Bella Monroe from the Shibito.

So, the player is not the only one experiencing deja vu, eh? You'll take
control of Seigo Saiga armed with his trusty doubled-barreled shotgun once
again. The beginning of this chapter consists of timed objectives that must be
completed very quickly in order to advance or you will automatically fail.

Just like in the chapter where Seigo helped Sam, stand on the Lookout Tower and
find Bella below then shoot the shibito (Sol) that tries to attack her until
Sol is knocked out. Don't try to leave the tower after the first shibito falls
since two more shibito will crowd around Bella once she moves further down the
path. Be sure to keep your gun aimed near her and follow her as you reload. A
flying shibito will fly toward her from near the tower. Aim toward the flying
shibito and try to hit it as best you can - it may take two shots because of
the distance. Shoot the other shibito that moves toward Bella from the path in
front of her directly after shooting the flying shibito. Bella will run out of
sight afterwards.

This part can go a little bad at times depending on how well your aiming skills
are. Sol gets up extremely fast from a knockdown, so he will be up by the time
you knock down the second shibito. If you take too long in shooting them or
miss a bunch then Bella may run back toward Sol's location and he will most
likely be standing again at that point and will run right back toward Bella.
Just like in other chapters, if a shibito stands next to Bella for too long,
she will die.

[X] Sub Goal: Save Bella Monroe from the Shibito. COMPLETE

Quickly sight jack Bella when she runs out of sight and watch where she runs to
hide - you have to know her location beforehand since she will hide and sight
jacking her will do little good once you climb down the tower since she will be
hidden by then. Really, you could just follow my directions below instead of
sight jacking her, so don't worry if you miss her. Climb down the Lookout
Tower while you have her view locked-on. You now have to find Bella before a
shibito finds her. She will be in the upper floor of the Karibna Noodle Shop,
so run over to the noodle shop. You'll alarm some shibito along the way - most
likely the one that paces back and forth between the Mitamura House and the
Rice Shop - so prepare to shoot them or run from them.

== Karibna Noodle Shop ==

If you see a police officer shibito walking toward the noodle shop then shoot
him to end the next objective early. If you don't, then use the stairs to
reach the second floor. When Seigo steps into the second floor room, a police
officer shibito will most likely searching the room for Bella. Shoot the
police officer shibito in the back to knock him out.

[X] Sub Goal: Help Bella Monroe escape from the Karibna Noodle Shop. COMPLETE

Bella will run out of the second floor room then move down the stairs and exit
the Karibna Noodle Shop once the police officer shibito is knocked out. Sight
jack her quickly! She will run back toward the Mutsui House as a flying
shibito chases her.

[ ] Sub Goal: Protect Bella Monroe from the Fly Shibito.

Be careful while leaving the Karibna Noodle Shop via the front entrance since
Sol may be outside by now. Run toward the Mitamura House and run through it
then exit out the northwest end of the house. Walk around the Mutsui House in
the back of the Mitamura House then find the flying shibito that corners Bella
on the southwest end of the house - you'll have to make a full circle around
the house to reach this area. Shoot the flying shibito with the shotgun to
knock him out.

[X] Sub Goal: Protect Bella Monroe from the Fly Shibito. COMPLETE

After the flying shibito is shot, Bella will squeeze through a narrow opening
in between the Mitamura House and the nearby metal wall. She will run to the
northwest and move down the Road to Hirasakai to the north. She is safe and
you no longer have to worry about her ass for the rest of the chapter!

== Mitamura House ==

[ ] Goal: Acquire the Ancient Book.

[ ] Sub Goal: Find the Worship Hall Key.

You can easily find the location of the Worship Hall Key by looking at your
map. Reenter the Mitamura House then use the stairs in the northeast corner to
reach the second floor. Walk over to the closet door then open it and- HOLY
FREAKING GOD CHRIST! Shoot that head thing in the closet... whatever it is.
Walk toward the dead thing then take the !!WORSHIP HALL KEY!! from it.

[X] Sub Goal: Find the Worship Hall Key. COMPLETE

-- CHECKPOINT --

Shut the closet door. The room has a much more pleasant feel to it with that
closet door closed. There is an archive file that can be obtained by moving
out the second floor walkway and stepping onto the roof. Turn to the right
(northwest) and walk along the roof until Seigo falls through the weak portion
of the roof where Howard fell through in an earlier chapter. Turn around after
falling onto the first floor of the Mitamura House and the pick up the
++MITAMURA FAMILY ALBUM (#36)++ from the rooftop rubble that is lying on top of
a space heater to the left of the nearby closet.

You can also take this chance to hunt down Sol to gain an extra weapon for your
archive menu. He should be near the Rice Shop or the Karibna Noodle Shop - he
moves in between just about all buildings. Blast him then pick up his --SCYTHE
(#35)-- to add it to your archive list. Be sure to keep the shotgun unless you
are running extremely low on ammo. There is also a scythe in front of the
Worship Hall (to the right of the entrance door), so you can wait and get it
there also without having to worry about hunting down Sol!

Run over toward the Worship Hall building in the north of this area. There is
a shibito that moves around the path in front of the steps that lead up to it,
so you might have to blast him out of the way. Shoot the shibito that is
sitting outside the Worship Hall drinking then unlock the door to the Worship
Hall and step inside.

== Worship Hall ==

Find the bookshelf to the right of the cabinet with candles in the very back of
the Worship Hall. Examine the bookshelf to trigger a cutscene that will end
this chapter. ++STRANGE TALES OF GOJAKU (#37)++ will be received directly
after the cutscene that ends the chapter.

Character(s): Bella Monroe
Mission Objective: Escape from Tabori.

== Living Room ==

[ ] Goal: Escape from the Ito House

[ ] Sub Goal: Climb to the roof from the Balcony on the 2nd floor.

Wow, what a predicament Bella has gotten herself into this time! For players
of the very first Siren, this level will seem reminiscent of little Harumi's
struggle to escape the Maeda house.

Bella will start out in the closet of the Ito House Living Room. Don't even
think about stepping out of that closet directly at the beginning or one of the
shibito will see Bella. I'll describe the shibito in this chapter as: Momma
shibito, Papa shibito, Daughter shibito and Grandpa shibito. You'll have to
learn their patterns in order to know which areas of the house are safe and
which areas are dangerous. Keep in mind that their patterns can be disturbed
if one of them happens to see Bella - at that time the extra movement to find
Bella will disrupt the usual pattern for that particular Ito shibito member
Here's a list of their normal patterns:

-----
DAUGHTER SHIBITO: Daughter shibito will leave the living room first. She will
turn around and shut the living room door on her way out. Daughter shibito
will walk down the corridor to the right (south) and then move up the stairs.
She will turn the hall to the left as soon as she reaches the second floor
corridor then she will walk into the Daughter's Room and shut the door. After
sitting down at her favorite desk and turning on her cassette player, Daughter
shibito will draw in her notebook. Daughter shibito will remain in her room
for an extremely long time!

She will eventually leave, however about the time that Papa shibito passes the
hallway outside of her room twice. She will get up from her desk and open the
door to the Daughter's Room then shut it on her way out and move down the
stairs. She will walk over toward the phone then sit down near it and dial up
her friend, Veronica, for the latest gossip around Tabori. She will look
toward the stairs while talking to her friend. She will eventually get fed up
with the news of how Leon is now seeing this young girl named Ashley then slam
the phone down and follow Mama down the main hall. She will walk all the way
down the hall then make a left and walk toward the storage closet and then
enter the Altar Room from the east side. As Daughter shibito moves to the
south end of the Altar Room she will stop and look toward the broken mirror off
to her left for a little while.

She will eventually leave the room via the same entrance at the east end and
walk all the way back down the main corridor. Daughter shibito will move up
the stairs then look out the window near the Spare Room for a while. She will
eventually enter her room again and start the radio then sit down to drawn once
again! She will repeat the same pattern afterwards beginning in her room.

MAMA SHIBITO: Mama will be the second to leave the room a few seconds after
daughter. She will walk to the door of the living room (south door) and open
it then step out to the left (east) side of the outside corridor. Mama doesn't
even close the door of the living room behind her to set a good example for her
daughter. She will walk to the window at the end of the left side of the
corridor then she will stop at the window for a few seconds. Mama will
eventually turn and look back down the corridor to the south from which she
came. She will eventually walk over to the storage closet and look down at the
doorknob then make sure it is locked.

After messing with the door, Mama will return to the corridor turn and make a
right then open the door to the room to the left of the Altar Room and step
inside that room. She will walk over to the door in the room beside the Altar
Room that leads to the living room (east side) then open it and walk back into
the living room. Mama will once again not shut any of the doors behind her,
showing what a bad housewife she was in living years. She will stop in the
living room and stare at the TV for quite a while. The white snow on the TV
will make her cackle loudly, as her memory of how Rebecca left that bastard
Wesker for Chris during the Christmas episode of her favorite soap opera
suddenly returns.

After staring at the TV for a while, she will walk back out the south door of
the living room then make a right on her way back out into the outside
corridor. Mama will walk to the Kitchen and open the door then step inside.
She will move over to the counter and begin to chop up some meat on the stove
counter. She cuts the meat for quite a while. She will eventually turn to her
right and walk out of the kitchen and even close the door on her way out!

She will walk back down the corridor and pass by the living room. After
opening the door to the room to the left of the Altar Room, she will walk to
the back right of the room then open the door to the Altar Room and step inside
then pray at the altar for quite a while. After offering her praise, she will
turn around and exit the Altar Room then walk back down the left corridor to
the right. She will see daughter walking over to the front study and then
decide to turn back around and walk down the left end of the corridor (east).
She will walk to the window, turn around and stare back down the corridor then
walk over to the storage closet and examine the lock once again. Mama will go
back to her normal rounds starting from when she examine the lock of the door
above.

PAPA SHIBITO: Papa will be the last family member to leave the living room.
He will walk toward the south entrance then turn and pick up the Bedroom Key
from the top of a shelf above a Japanese doll to the right of the TV then walk
to the outside corridor. He will make a right and then move up the stairs to
the second floor. After moving up the stairs, Papa will walk past the
Daughter's Room door and unlock the door to the Bedroom at the end of the
second floor corridor then open the door and enter the bedroom. He will stare
down at grandpa shibito on the floor for quite a while. Eventually he will
turn and leave the Bedroom then close and lock the door behind him.

Papa will walk over to the Spare Room and open the door then walk over to the
cabinet in the spare room and lay down the bedroom key on top the cabinet. He
will suddenly get an insatiable urge that everybody knows all too well then he
will run out of the Spare Room and dash down the stairs then make a right
followed by another right and just barely make it to the toilet to relive
himself before he floods the hallway. Wooh, close one there! The pause that
refreshes (him relieving himself) will last for a while then he will eventually
leave.

Papa will waste no time in running up the stairs and reentering the Spare Room.
He will frantically search the room then suddenly his attention will be caught
by a poster of a young Japanese couple on the sidewall. He will stop and look
at the Japanese girl for a little while then turn toward the cabinet and notice
the bedroom key. He will grab the key on the cabinet then return to the
bedroom and unlock the door. Papa shibito will reenter the bedroom (unlock it)
then stare at Grandpa shibito in the bedroom again then he will leave the
bedroom once again and lock it back up. Papa will move back down the second
floor hall and go down the stairs then make a left and move down the main
corridor.

He will enter the Altar Room near the end of the corridor then place the key on
the shelf in the Altar Room. He will leave the key behind then walk over to
the altar and turn toward it then pray in front of it for a while. Papa will
eventually stop praying then walk back over to the shelf and collect the key
once again. Papa will enter the room beside the Altar Room then step out into
the hall and move back up the stairs to the second floor. He will unlock the
door to the Bedroom, stare at Grandpa shibito then leave the bedroom and lock
it back once again on his way out.

Papa will walk back down the stairs to the second floor and enter the small
hall beside the kitchen then place the key on the desk that the phone lies on.
He will leave the key behind and enter the Front Study for a while. Papa will
sit down at the table inside for a few moments. He will eventually leave and
pick up the key from the desk once again. He'll eventually walk back up the
stairs then return to the Bedroom to stare at Grandpa shibito like usual.

When Papa shuts and locks the door, he will move down the stairs once again and
make his way to the bathroom. He will set down the key on the counter near the
doorway inside and then walk over to the bathtub and get inside. He will
eventually begin to take a bath and not pay attention to anything that is going
on around him. He will get up from taking a bath soon however, and take the
key once again from the counter. Papa will move back up the stairs and go back
to the Bedroom to stare at Grandpa shibito some more. When Papa leaves the
Bedroom this time, he will enter the Spare Room once again and place the key on
the cabinet then rush off to the toilet and his pattern will start all the way
over from where he rushed to the toilet the last time!

Grandpapa shibito: Grandpapa stays covered up in a bed in the upstairs Bedroom
and stairs at the ceiling the entire time, wishing that papa shibito would
leave him the hell alone. If Grandpa catches sight of Bella, then he will get
up very quickly and chase her. If Bella hides, then Grandpa shibito will pace
back and forth between the Spare Room and the Bedroom and he will NOT go back
to lying down in the Bedroom for the remainder of that particular game unless a
checkpoint is restarted.
-----

Alright, so how do we get past our fine family of Ito family member shibito?
Well, if you simply want to get through the house without being discovered and
without many problems then do the following:

At the beginning of the chapter, sight jack papa shibito and lock onto him.
Step out of the closet once he moves toward the stairs then crouch walk and
move up the stairs after him and enter the Spare Room off to the right while he
enters the Bedroom. Walk over to the closet in the Spare Room then hide inside
of it.

[ ] Sub Goal: Trace the Shibito movements to find the Bedroom Key.

== Spare Room ==

Wait for papa shibito to exit from the bedroom and enter the Spare Room. He
will lay down a key on the tall cabinet in the Spare Room then he will
eventually run down the stairs to the toilet. When he runs down the stairs,
step out of the closet then grab the ++BEDROOM KEY++. Step back into the
closet. You could actually make a break for the Bedroom and unlock the door
then leave the house right now, but you'll miss an archive file in doing go.

[X] Sub Goal: Trace the Shibito movements to find the Bedroom Key. COMPLETE

While hiding in the closet, allow Papa shibito to return to the Spare Room.
Switch your sight jack between daughter shibito and papa shibito. When
daughter shibito finally leaves the Daughter's Room and moves downstairs, Papa
shibito will already be on the first floor and he will be moving down the main
corridor on the first floor. Daughter shibito will be the last to leave the
second floor. When both of them have left the second floor, step out of the
closet then enter the Daughter's Room. You can release sight jack at this time
since you won't need it anymore.

== Upstairs ==

Walk over toward the shelves beside the white guitar and pick up the ++SPOOL
KNITTER (#39)++ archive file. None of them will return for a good little
while. If you want file #38, then you're going to have to hide in the closet
of the Daughter's Room and wait for daughter shibito to enter her room again.
If you've noticed, she will turn on her cassette player and listen to some
music while she scribbles at her desk. In order to get archive file #38, you
must interact with the cassette player while it is on to receive the file.

Hide in the closet and wait for daughter shibito to enter the room. Sight jack
papa shibito since he will actually be in the hall outside once daughter
shibito enters the room. Allow daughter shibito to sit at her desk and turn on
the cassette player then allow papa shibito to move down the stairs to the
first floor (sight jack him and watch). While papa shibito is on the first
floor, step out of the closet. The sliding of the door will NOT alert daughter
shibito. Crouch and stand right behind daughter shibito then face the closet
so that the "Hide" command appears. With this positioning, sight jack her
first of all then press D-pad left to yell and THE EXACT MOMENT that Bella
yells, turn your left analog toward the closet just a bit to cancel the
animation of the yell then press X to step back into the closet. If all goes
well then daughter shibito will not turn around in time to notice Bella.

The exact moment (the increment of time, the millisecond) that daughter shibito
turns away from the closet step right back outside of the closet since daughter
shibito will walk toward the door of the Daughter Room then open the outside
door to look around the corridor and you do not have any moment to waste
whatsoever in stepping out of the closet to perform this next part. You must
crouch walk over to the cassette player, grab the ++BERMUDA 3 RECORD (#38)++
and get back inside of the closet before daughter shibito turns back around.
Keep in mind that you're crouch walking while doing this, so it is hard... it
is very hard to perform this and not get caught. You're going to die a bunch
trying not to die. Your best bet for getting this archive file without
frustration is to simply walk up and take it while she is near the desk and
simply accept death then try everything over again. You can actually activate
the checkpoint in the bedroom and it will save you time, since the daughter
shibito will just be exiting from her room directly after the checkpoint.

Exit the Daughter's Room (wait for her to leave if you somehow survived) then
unlock the door to the Bedroom using the Bedroom Key. Crouch and walk past
grandpapa shibito, who is lying in the bed along the floor then step out the
window on the east side of the Bedroom. You don't want grandpapa shibito to
see Bella since he gets really cranky when he's disturbed and he'll wander the
halls of the second floor continuously from then on if you disturb him and
manage to hide.

[X] Sub Goal: Climb to the roof from the Balcony on the 2nd floor. COMPLETE

[X] Goal: Escape from the Ito House. COMPLETE

-- CHECKPOINT --

[ ] Goal: Reach the Road to Karuwari.

While out on the balcony outside the bedroom, step out onto the roof. Step to
the south end of the roof then fall off the side.

Don't walk through the gate on the south end just yet. If you want another
archive file, then you'll have to go back into the house. First of all, run
over to the Detached Room on the west side of the area then open the sliding
door and pick up the !!CLOSET KEY!! from the drawer off to the left after you
enter the building. Run back toward the "Entrance" of the Ito House as labeled
on the map and stand in front of the doorbell for a "Ring Doorbell" command.
Sight jack all the shibito in the house and make sure that papa shibito is
upstairs and daughter shibito is in her room then ring the doorbell. Quickly
run over to the west wall of the Ito House outside the Kitchen. Momma shibito
will soon storm out the south door of the Kitchen and quickly look around to
see if anyone is near the doorbell.

Stay crouched near the west end and quickly enter the house through the kitchen
again. Quickly step up on the first step in front of the stove and turn to the
right. If you timed the ringing just right, then crouch walk down the corridor
directly ahead to the east. Break out into a run once you make to the corridor
outside the Altar Room. Run to the Storage Closet and quickly unlock it. Move
toward the shelves directly behind the door and pick up the ++INSECT CATCHING
KIT (#40)++ then run back to the kitchen door and crouch walk once you get to
the corridor outside the living room. Enter the kitchen again then move out of
the Ito House once again and run to the left. If this is all done quickly
enough, then Mama shibito will still be checking out the Detached Room while
Bella is exiting the Ito House. Archive file #40 and #41 must be received in
the same game, so you can't afford to die here. If you die then you'll have to
gain archive file #40 all over again to get #41. Keep in mind that momma
shibito will now exit the house every now and then to answer the doorbell from
now on since you disrupted her pattern.

Find the pool of blood in the southeast end of the outside area and walk to the
southwest side of that pond and face the furthest tree to the south on that
side to get a "Use Insect Catching Kit" command. Perform the command then run
to the north end of the Ito House outside portion and stand for a few minutes.
Run back to the trap after a few minutes then examine it to trigger another
cutscene in which Bella will gain the ++HANUDA BEETLE (#41)++ and this will
also complete a key step for gaining an archive item in Episode 11, Chapter 4.

Walk through the open front gate and move down the path to the south to trigger
a cutscene.

Mommy's back! The Melissa shibito will be right in front of Bella as gameplay
resumes. Turn around and run back through the front gate. If you can keep
Melissa right behind Bella, literally where Melissa almost always has her in
her vision, then Melissa will not have time to run back and lock the gate and
you can make a complete circle around the Ito House then get back to the front
gate and leave very quickly. Melissa is a very fast shibito and you don't have
time to stop for too long because mommy gets worried about her little girl when
Bella runs away from her.

[ ] Sub Goal: Get past the lock on the Front Gate.

If you stray too far from Melissa then Melissa will run back toward the front
gate and lock it! She will then circle around the Ito House in a clockwise or
counterclockwise path starting from the west side and will move around the
house searching for Bella. Melissa often breaks out into frantic runs even
when she has not caught sight of Bella, so she is a very dangerous shibito to
be in the area with. You'll have to sight jack Melissa then circle around the
northwest end of the Ito House and make it to the front gate.

While standing in front of the front gate, hold the /\ button when the "Unlock
Gate" command appears. The problem with unlocking the gate is that Melissa
will hear Bella fidgeting with the lock and will make a quick run back to the
front gate from the east side to catch Bella. You will most likely have to
make two or three trips to the gate to fully unlock it since Melissa returns to
the gate extremely fast when she hears Bella. Run back around the northwest
end of the Ito House until Melissa looses site of Bella. Melissa will once
again start from the west end of the Ito House then circle around in a
clockwise or counterclockwise path.

Once Bella reaches the end of the path outside the front gate, the chapter will
end.

Character(s): Howard Wright, Miyako
Mission Objective: Break the four seals

== Road to Harayadori ==

[ ] Goal: Break the four stone pillar seals.

[ ] Sub Goal: Break the seal of the Eagle.
[ ] Sub Goal: Break the seal of Man.
[ ] Sub Goal: Break the seal of the Lion.
[ ] Sub Goal: Lower the water and break the seal of the Bull.

Howard starts without any kind of weapon at the beginning of this chapter.
Once again, he'll have to lead Miyako around the fields with him and protect
her from harm. This chapter can be a little confusing as to how to start.

For starters, if you want to go through this chapter the Wright way- oh, sorry,
I meant "the correct way", then you should open your map and find the tree at
the northwest end of the East Fields. When you run to the north, take the left
path along the northeast and the tree will be off to the left. Move toward
this tree and face it to get the "Climb Tree" command just like in the last
chapter with Howard and Miyako in this field. Climb the tree for a cutscene.

-- CHECKPOINT --

Just like before, Howard is separated from Miyako once again. Look toward the
gravestone up ahead to Howard's left after the cutscene and pick up the garden
hoe that is lying against it. Now that you have a weapon, this area won't be
near as bad! Notice the broken hunting trap and carrots next to the gravestone
- these play a role in gaining the archive file for this area (the broken
hunting trap is the hint). Run along the path (drop when needed) and reach the
Irazu Valley Church then move down the path to the south of the church.

[ ] Sub Goal: Reunite with Miyako.

(Note: You could drop down the Fuel Storage and get back to Miyako quicker by
doing so, but you'll attract a lot of shibito toward Howard in doing so and you
won't have a handgun to fight them. This will save some times, but it's a
little harder.)

Defeat the flying shibito near the church - he should be clinging to the side
of the church. There is a .38 caliber handgun with 30 rounds attached (by
rope) to a cross to the right of the church, so you might want to pick it up -
use the bullets wisely though since there are quite a number of shibito in this
area. Use the garden hoe or gun to break the chain on the iron gate (pistol
whip it with the handgun) then walk through the gate. Defeat any shibito that
get in your way and head to the north, toward the Dilapidated Shed. Miyako
will be somewhere near the Dilapidated Shed. She is sometimes in the East
Fields.

[X] Sub Goal: Reunite with Miyako. COMPLETE

Enter the Dilapidated Shed and pick up the three hunting traps inside. You
need at least one of these to get the archive file for this area. Run up the
path to the west then turn to the right (north) and climb the tall rock
structure - use your map to the see the blue marker. A flying shibito might
catch sight of either Howard or Miyako here, so be ready to knock her out with
your garden hoe or gun. Wait until Miyako climbs up to the area with Howard
then stand in front of the rock pedestal to get a "Break 'Lion' Seal" command.
Tap the X button with Miyako near Howard to break the seal during the cutscene
that follows.

[X] Sub Goal: Break the seal of the Lion. COMPLETE

-- CHECKPOINT --

The second seal is in the south, right next to the iron gate. You can either
run to the west and climb the Fuel Storage then climb up to the Irazu Valley
Church path, or you could backtrack through the East Fields and go through the
iron gate to reach it - whatever floats your boat. Walk toward the rock
structure and release the seal of Man just like with the Lion seal.

[X] Sub Goal: Break the seal of Man. COMPLETE

-- CHECKPOINT --

== West Fields ==

The third seal is right next to the path that leads to the Road to Tabori in
the west. Fall down the hills in the west fields then move past the equipment
storage - plenty of weapons there - and make your way toward the rock pedestal,
across the wooden log and up the steps, then release the seal of the Eagle.
You'll run into a flying shibito along the way and the shibito brain for this
area will see Howard and haul ass to the north as Howard runs toward the log
bridge.

[X] Sub Goal: Release the seal of the Eagle. COMPLETE

-- CHECKPOINT --

One more to go. Run down the steps to the north. Make an immediate right and
turn once you move down the steps then move down the extra path (labeled on the
map) to the south and close the floodgate using the controls. This will lower
the water in the ditch that is in the middle of this area. The shibito brain
for this area is down the hills to the east. Fall down the hills and he should
be looking toward you from near the fallen tree branch in the east. He will
rush you with a garden fork, so be prepared to knock him out once you see him.
All flying shibito will now be knocked out for quite a while once he falls.

Fall down the ditch via the area without railing along the south side of the
current area. You can't reach the final seal because of the framework below
the bridge, so climb up to the West Fields further to the east along the south
side of the ditch. Climb all the way back up the West Fields and take the
Irazu Valley Church path to the north all the way to the north and drop from
the top of the Fuel Storage.

(Note: Instead of going the long way mentioned below, at the top of the area
above the Fuel Storage, you can fall off the far east side and Howard will land
right next to the last seal. Make sure to read about obtaining the archive
file though.)

Run to the east and knock out any shibito that want to mess with the Wright-man
then drop to the ditch below the bridge in the east near the Dilapidated Shed.
Climb up the raised area to the west.

Notice the stairs off to the left in the ditch - climb the stairs if you want
to get the archive file for this area. Place a hunting trap in the area with
the broken hunting trap and carrots. You need to lure a special creature out
of hiding - the EMA [Enigmatic American Manbeast] Jackalope Man. If you have
been listening throughout the stage then there has been a rustling in the
bushes at certain points of the area - this is the hidden creature for which I
speak of. In order to trap it, after setting the hunting trap, run back down
the steps that lead to the ditch. Get off the steps then turn around and walk
back up the steps once again. The trap should go off when Howard backtracks
halfway up the steps. Go back to where the trap was set and a blood trail will
be scattered where the creature got away. Looks like we have one of his legs
though! Mwha! Check the trap to receive the ++UMA WORLD ENCYCLOPEDIA (#42)++.
Notice how Miyako comments on the smell around the trap after Howard walks
toward it. Read the file to learn about the beast's horrid smell.

Find the rock seal along the left wall of the ditch then break it with the
action command to end this chapter.

Character(s): Seigo Saiga
Mission Objective: Acquire the Uryen.

== West Shaft Upper Level ==

[ ] Goal: Power on the elevator from the control panel.

Seigo will start out in the West Shaft Upper Level of Hanuda. Seigo is once
again armed with his double-barreled shotgun with 30 shells for this chapter.

At the beginning of this chapter, turn around and run down the tunnel that
leads to the Road to Hirasakai. A nurse shibito is moving down the mine in
Seigo's direction and she will soon catch sight of Seigo if he doesn't hide in
the tunnel right at the beginning. Not only is this nurse shibito quite a
sight to look at in the face, but this particular shibito will get up within
mere seconds of being knocked down - so the best option is to avoid her for
now. Don't mess with the mine cart in the back of the tunnel, it will serve a
good purpose later in this chapter if you leave it alone.

Sight jack her and watch as she moves out of the tunnel. She will actually
stop on the bridge and fall off the railing. Wait until she begins to move
down the staircase to the basement of the Mining Office then rush outside the
tunnel and run down the path that leads to the Mining Office. A shibito armed
with a hunting rifle will most likely see Seigo, but once you step behind the
Mining Office he will lose sight of him. The shibito with the hunting rifle is
usually on top of the Siren Control building. Move down the stairs and the
nurse shibito at the bottom should either be examining the controls for the
elevator or moving to the left. Examine the controls and you'll find that the
fuse is missing, so you'll gain a Sub Goal after you examine the fuse box on
the left side of the controls.

[ ] Sub Goal: Find the Fuse.

== Basement ==

Stay behind the nurse shibito and allow her to turn and walk over to the iron
gate in the basement. Wait for her to turn to her left and move back toward
the staircase then, as she moves up the stairs, open the iron gate and move
down the stairs. Open the next mining gate further ahead. It is sometimes
hard to avoid knocking over an object in the basement, so if you alert the
nurse shibito then shoot her and then run into the mine quickly, so she doesn't
have much time to follow.

== West Shaft Level 4 ==

There is nothing up the ladder to the right except for a spider shibito - if he
sees you then shoot him. Walk down the tunnel to the west (left) and prepare
to shoot a shibito as he steps out into the open - he may be down the corridor
to the left, so just sneak by him if that is the case. Collect the !!FUSE!!
from the blue toolbox on the left as you reach the central shaft.

[X] Sub Goal: Find the Fuse. COMPLETE

-- CHECKPOINT --

Try to go back the other way and a cutscene will play where a cave-in will seal
the West Shaft Level 4 area. The ladder down the East Shaft will only lead to
a dead end area since the elevator is not working yet and also a spider shibito
will move up and down the ladder in that tunnel at times. Your only choice for
advancing further is to fall off the side of the gap without any railing in the
Central Shaft area.

When Seigo lands, a spider shibito will likely take notice of him, so
immediately turn around then aim and shoot it with the shotgun. If it hasn't
notice you yet, then it will soon, so turn around and find it on the wall
across from Seigo then blast it. Continue down the west end of the tunnel.

If you drained the water (through the water pump) in Episode 8, Chapter 2 with
Sol, then the pool in the tunnel on the south end will be drained. If you move
down the tunnel at the moment, you'll find that you'll need a detonator to blow
open the wall at the end of the tunnel, so there is really no use in going this
way right now.

Continue to the west and climb the ladder on the left side of the tunnel. The
shibito from earlier (off to the left) will be either be either digging at the
cave-in debris or he will be down the corridor to the north so don't bother
him. Be ready to shoot the spider shibito that will appear down the West Shaft
Level 4 area as you move down the right tunnel. Go back up the stairs and
enter the basement again. The nurse shibito will still be moving around this
area, so get ready to shoot her. Plug the fuse into the fuse box of the
control panel to start the power for the elevator, then move over to the
controls on the right side and activate the elevator. Remember that you have
to set the fuse in the fuse box then turn the power on (two step process).

[X] Goal: Power on the elevator from the control panel. COMPLETE

-- CHECKPOINT --

[ ] Goal: Acquire the Uryen in Central Shaft Level 1.

== Mining Office ==

Run back up to the Mining Office via the stairs and exit out the back door then
move up the path once again to get back to the bridge. The shibito with the
hunting rifle is now on the bridge, so prepare to run into the tunnel very
quickly to get out of his sight once he sees Seigo.

If you didn't push the mine cart at the beginning of this chapter then you will
have perfect cover while moving across the bridge outside. Simply get behind
the mine cart and push it then jump inside to safely move across the bridge
without having to worry about getting shot at and you'll plow into the shibito
with the hunting rifle in the process. If the mine cart is no longer there,
then you might want to try sneaking up the path then shooting him once you
reach the bridge. Don't pick up his hunting rifle unless you only have very
few shells left. It only comes with 6 bullets!

Either way, you need to get to the East Shaft Upper Level. Walk into the
elevator and press the button in the back and ride it down to the Level 5 East
Shaft. Be ready to shoot the spider shibito in the corridor once the elevator
stops since it will be somewhere in that area. Climb down the ladder further
ahead.

Fall off the side of the cliff at the Central Shaft to reach Level 3 once
again. Shoot the spider shibito when it attacks. Run down the corridor to the
far west and press the button outside of Elevator C to make it begin to move
up. The elevator will crash. Fall down the elevator shaft with Seigo then
fall below once again to land in the Level 1 area. Move over to the left and
press the button to call Elevator B down to Level 1. Step inside of Elevator B
then ride it to the top by pressing the button.

Seigo will be blocked off by an elevator door that is sealed with a wire from
the other side. Allow the shibito outside the elevator shaft to see Seigo. It
will unlock the iron gate to the storage and grab some a pair of bolt cutters.
Allow it to cut the wire using the bolt cutters then shoot it right after it
opens the door to the elevator. Pick up the --BOLT CUTTERS (#33)-- from its
body to add them to your weapon archive then enter the storage room to the side
and grab the !!DYNAMITE DETONATOR!! from the back left corner of the storage
room. This will allow you to blow up the wall with the dynamite strapped to it
in the Level 2 tunnel below if you drained the pool in that tunnel with Sol in
Episode 8, Chapter 2.

Return to Level 2 by moving down the ladder a little ways down the corridor
from the Storage Room. Walk to the south tunnel and move all the way down it.
Press X when the "Use Detonator" command appears to trigger a cutscene. Move
all the way back down the tunnel then examine the red mural on the newly
revealed wall at the end to receive the ++GOJAKU MURAL (#43)++ archive file.
Get back to Elevator B back up the ladder and ride it down once again.

[ ] Sub Goal: Find a wooden stake in Central Shaft Level 1.
[ ] Sub Goal: Stake the Shibito Brain to stop the Maggot Shibito.

Move down the steps to the south and head to the east. DON'T step all the way
down into Central Shaft Level 1 yet since a maggot shibito is pacing back and
forth down there. You need to sight jack and wait for him to turn away from
the stairway (you should see a blue light representing Seigo when he is facing
him) then quickly move toward the debris on the southeast side of the room.
Pick up the !!WOODEN STAKE!! from the debris then move back up the stairs.
There is a ladder on the northwest side of the central shaft area, but the
maggot shibito will instantly kill Seigo by smacking him once he makes it to
the top. It can't follow Seigo up the stairs since it is so tall.

UPDATE: It is possible to knock out the maggot shibito and actually accomplish
the main goal for this chapter early if you have enough shotgun ammo to knock
it out. It takes around 15 shots to knock out the maggot shibito and it will
only stay knocked out for about 3 seconds, giving you just enough to reach the
crack in the wall that Seigo must squeeze through in order to end this chapter.
If you want to try this method then make sure to pick up the wooden stake near
the debris in the central shaft in order to activate the next checkpoint.

I would recommend shooting the maggot shibito a bit while running around the
central shaft in order to weaken it some. You need to be already up the ladder
when it is knocked out, so lead it to the opposite end then run and climb the
ladder. The maggot shibito will usually stay off in the distance while
attempting to find Seigo while you're at the top of the ladder. DON'T try to
rush toward the crack in the wall along the path before knocking out the maggot
shibito or a cutscene will automatically play where it will kill Seigo. You
have to stand near the ladder and shoot at the maggot shibito until it falls.
Once it falls, run as fast as you can toward the crack in the wall at the end
of the ledge then choose the "Squeeze Through" command after facing the left
wall at the end and you'll finish this chapter right then and there without
having to stake the shibito brain. Once again, you must already be up the
ladder BEFORE you knock out the maggot shibito if you want a shot at this!

[X] Sub Goal: Find a wooden stake in Central Shaft Level 1. COMPLETE

-- CHECKPOINT --

You've got to find the shibito brain and drive a stake into it- but... where in
the hell is it? Well, the shibito brain is actually that horrid looking nurse
shibito that wouldn't ever stay down - the one that Seigo first ran into at the
beginning of this chapter. You'll have to backtrack to the basement of the
Mining Office then shoot it and quickly drive a stake into it.

To get back up there, take Elevator B to Level 2 then blast the shibito that
tries to attack. Move back down the West Shaft Upper Level 4 tunnel and shoot
the spider shibito. Enter the tunnel off to the right and follow it to arrive
in the basement again. She is no longer in the basement! Climb up the stairs
to enter the Mining Office. The siren is now going off in the Siren Control
Room. Something is very creepy here.

The shibito with the hunting rifle is still on top of the bridge, so don't move
toward the open front door. Run out the back of the Mining Office and move up
to the ladder. Enter the tunnel to the west and run to the very back. Push
the mine cart then hop inside. Ride the mine cart over to the other side of
the tunnel to take down the shibito with the hunting rifle and a spider shibito
in the tunnel at the east end. Use the elevator control to call up Elevator A
then ride it down to Level 5 - get ready to shoot a spider shibito below.

Climb down the ladder to reach Level 4. Move all the way to the east of the
East Shaft Level 4 and push the mine cart then jump inside. Seigo will leap
out of the mine cart right as the cart plows into the wall and the nurse
(brain) shibito near the debris in the central shaft. Stand next to the
nurse's body then press X when the "Drive Stake In" command appears to finish
her off in a very pleasing cutscene - this action will knock out the spider
shibito and the maggot shibito.

[X] Sub Goal: Stake the Shibito Brain to stop the Maggot Shibito. COMPLETE

Fall off the cliff once again to land in the Level 2 portion of the mines. Run
to the end and climb the ladder. Shoot the shibito outside of Elevator B - he
should learn to just fall down whenever Seigo stares at him by now really.
Ride Elevator B down to Level 1. Move down the stairs to the east. The maggot
shibito is now knocked out in the central shaft area- would you look at that,
he's got a goatee! Climb the ladder in the central shaft area then move to the
very end of the ledge. Turn to the left at the end of the ledge and press X to
"Squeeze Through" the narrow crack in the wall and trigger a cutscene that will
end this chapter.

[X] Goal: Acquire the Uryen in Central Shaft Level 1. COMPLETE

                             MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

Character(s): Howard Wright, Bella Monroe
Mission Objective: Enter the Nest Core with Bella Monroe.

[ ] Goal: Reach the Nest Core with Bella Monroe.

[ ] Sub Goal: Send Bella Monroe ahead.
[ ] Break into the Shibito Nest under the cover of thunder.

== Upper Arato ==

Howard must once again sneak through the entire shibito nest and gain entry to
the core, only this time he has Bella Monroe with him. She's not as much of a
liability as you would normally think. The shibito assortment has completely
changed for this stage. Once again, Howard starts this chapter without a
weapon.

At the starting, run toward the front portion of the Lucky Triangle building up
ahead. You can stay next to the east wall to avoid detection from the flying
shibito that is hovering in the air and serving as a lookout for the area
behind the building. He'll eventually see Howard, so prepare to run over to
the north side, behind the building, and grab the steel pipe from the crates
below the stairs. Beat down the flying shibito with the metal pipe as he
descends to attack.

There is nothing on the rooftop up above. Run toward the building with the
boarded up doorway. Climb on top of the walkway on the west side and move over
to the small opening in the side of the wall. Wait for Bella to move close to
Howard then initiate the "Send Bella Through" command to perform a sub goal.

[X] Sub Goal: Send Bella Monroe ahead. COMPLETE

Bella will hide in the closet directly across from the boarded up doorway.
Begin to hit the boards of the doorway with your metal pipe. You have to hurry
while hitting the boards since the flying shibito from earlier will wake up
quickly and fly toward Howard then shoot at him. Break the boards then run
into the building and the flying shibito will not follow.

[X] Break into the Shibito Nest under the cover of thunder. COMPLETE

Open the door to the closet and get Bella to follow Howard once again. There
are no extra items in the side room down the left hall, so pass by it and move
up the stairs. Walk up to the doorway at the top of the stairs then open it.
You might as well walk outside and let the spider shibito see Howard since it
will eventually see him. Knock it out with the metal pipe then hop across the
gap in the roof. You'll find that Bella can't cross over as the new sub goal
appears.

[ ] Sub Goal: Lead Bella Monroe to a safe route.

== Rooftop ==

Hop back across the roof to the east side then take Bella to the south portion
of the roof. Climb up to the walkways on that side then open the door at the
end. Move to the opening off to the right in the new room then choose to "Send
Bella Through" the opening up under the shelf.

[X] Sub Goal: Lead Bella Monroe to a safe route. COMPLETE

The spider shibito that you knocked out just a few minutes ago will be about
ready to get up soon, so you might want to check on it and beat it down with
the metal pipe once again if it moves. Run back toward the gap in the roof
then hop across it. Climb up to the walkway then enter the room off to the
west and open the doors inside to meet up with Bella. Take her with Howard and
run down the corridor in the north. A spider shibito will be crawling along
the ceiling, so get ready to hit upside the head with your metal pipe. Open
the door at the end of the corridor and enter the next room.

-- CHECKPOINT --

[ ] Sub Goal: Barricade the Spider Shibito inside the Abandoned House.

== Near the Abandoned House ==

Find the next door along the side of the room with the TVs then open it. Drop
down the platforms outside. Head to the north and approach the Abandoned
House. Spider shibito will likely notice Howard while he moves toward the
house, so prepare to smack them around with the metal pipe to knock them out.
These are actually the shibito that you have to barricade in the house. There
are only two of them. You could actually sight jack them and sneak into the
Abandoned House through the back door. Don't worry if one sees you however,
just knock it out.

Enter the north room in the Abandoned House. Make Howard bump into the small
cushion that hangs down from the middle of the ceiling. It will make a
laughing sound and this will draw any conscious spider shibito into this room.
You'll have to wait for them to revive (which doesn't take long) and lure them
into this room via the laughing cushion. You could have Bella hide in the
closet in this room, but really this just takes up more time when you need to
leave. Knock both of the spider shibito out when they enter the room and then
take Bella out of the Abandoned House with Howard then shut both the back door
and front door to barricade them in the house and accomplish the latest sub
goal.

[X] Sub Goal: Barricade the Spider Shibito inside the Abandoned House. COMPLETE

Run toward the bridge in the east.

[ ] Sub Goal: Knock out the Shibito Brain to stop the other Shibito.

-- CHECKPOINT --

== Near the Sozuka Bridge ==

Move across the Sozuka Bridge. Don't worry if a flying shibito sees Howard.
Just stand still and wait for it to fly downward to attack then knock it out of
the air with your metal pipe.

Run over to the southwest side of the 33 Yen Shop and rotate the crank on the
side of the building to extend the awning across the southeast portion. This
will provide cover so that the shibito brain on the roof of this building
cannot see Howard. Move under the awning and walk over to the set of metal
drums on the north side of the Yen Shop. Climb on top of the platforms along
that side then sneak up on the flying shibito brain on the roof and beat it
down with your metal pipe.

[X] Sub Goal: Knock out the Shibito Brain to stop the other Shibito. COMPLETE

If you collected the Hanuda Beetle with Bella in Episode 10, Chapter 2 then, to
gain an archive file for this area, find the path of stairs behind the Irazu
Bus Stop then move up that path. Hop over the rooftop then fall down the roof
to the east. Walk around the side of the Takamota House and approach the back
door of The Lucky Triangle. Open the back door then step inside. Walk over to
the bowl on the table that is across from the entrance to the counter and
examine the hole in the floor in front of that table. You must wait until a
flash of lightning when you examine the hole or the hole will be too dark to
see into. If you collected the Hanuda Beetle, a cutscene will play then you
will receive the ++AUDIO CASSETTE TAPE (#45)++ afterwards. Exit The Lucky
Triangle then get to the street out beside the Yen Shop. You'll have to use
the "Pull Bella Up" command while standing above the red barrels in order to
help her up.

Use the platforms in front of the Upper Arato Tunnel to climb up to the doorway
up above. Climb on top of the crate then climb up to the walkway and step
toward the doorway to trigger a cutscene that will end this chapter. You'll
have to help Bella up to the roof via the action command that will appear when
Howard turns back toward her and moves toward the crate below.

Character(s): Sam Monroe
Mission Objective: Discover the Truth.

== Shibito Nest ==

[ ] Goal: Continue deeper into the Shibito Nest.

[ ] Sub Goal: Escape the Maggot Shibito.

Wow, there's nothing quite like having your ex-wife go all maggot shibito on
you at such a crucial time. Sam's definitely got problems here, and so does
the player.

Sam will start in the north portion of the beginning of the Shibito Nest, right
across from the Upper Arato Tunnel. You have to think quick right here or
you'll die instantly since the Melissa maggot shibito will toss a piece of
railing at Sam and one hit from that flying railing will kill him. Run toward
the maggot shibito and step around her to her left. You need to get to the
east side of the bus as labeled on the map. Step into the bus.

The maggot shibito will stand outside the west portion of the bus and shake it.
It's kind of like one of those haunted house rooms where the area will shake to
alarm you but nothing bad will happen if you stay behind. You can actually
stand and yell out the window at Melissa if you so desire. Run to the north
end of the bus and walk into the room behind it. Grab the wrench weapon from
the floor off to the right after exiting the bus.

Step outside of the room to the north. The north door is locked, so turn to
the left and walk to the south.

If you turned the valve of the water tank and found the key during the cutscene
outside of the Saiga hospital in Chapter 8, Episode 4 then a cutscene will
trigger eventually. Right after the cutscene, run into the small room behind
the door that Bella opened in the north portion during the cutscene. Examine
the desk off to the right to collect the ++LEGENDS OF HANUDA VILLAGE (#47)++
archive file. If you examine the sign in the back with the small opening below
it, you'll only get a single phrase, "Bella..." The Melissa maggot shibito
will most likely trap Sam in this room, and she will constantly reach inside
from the doorway. Wait for her to stop reaching then run directly against her
and quickly move by her.

Enter the narrow path to the left of the Renaissance Grocery as seen on your
map. The maggot shibito cannot follow Sam into this area. Step on top of the
drums further ahead then step up all the platforms and climb to the roof.

== Near the Renaissance Grocery ==

Move up to the doorway near the flickering TV on the rooftop. Don't move past
the doorway just yet though, since the maggot shibito will step into the area
below the roof up ahead. Step out of sight if she sees you and she will
eventually turn her back to look around the area some more. Wait until the
maggot shibito steps on top of the rooftop to the east (in front of the patrol
car) then quickly step down from the roof to the north and crouch walk toward
the door in the north. Hold the /\ button once the "Unlock" command appears to
begin unlocking the door. Make sure that the maggot shibito has not seen Sam
and you should be able to unlock the door then step inside before the maggot
shibito steps down from the roof. If she sees Sam inside the room then she
will step toward the doorway and reach inside, so be sure to step away from the
door. Climb the ladder.

-- CHECKPOINT --

Step into the corridor in the east. One spider shibito will climb down the
hole in the ceiling and attack Sam right away. Beat him down with the wrench
and run through the opposite end of the corridor. The vending machine can once
again be pushed over the end of the corridor to block the spider shibito in
that corridor. Don't push the vending machine to block the corridor just yet
however. Another spider shibito will appear either down the corridor behind
Sam or outside of the gate to the right. The maggot shibito will appear
outside the gate, but she can't get to Sam as long as you stay away from the
openings. Lure the spider shibito into the corridor then knock it out and walk
to the right side of the vending machine then push it via the X command to trap
the spider shibito inside of the corridor.

Exit to the north end of the corridor. Another spider shibito will attack as
Sam walks through the doorway at the end. Knock it out like the other two.
The maggot shibito should still be occupied by staring through the bars in the
north, so climb up the platform above the yellow sign with the arrow then climb
to the area outside Fujimi's Barber Shop. Run toward the Lookout Tower down
the east corridor. Step up to the ladder of the Lookout Tower.

[X] Sub Goal: Escape from the Maggot Shibito. COMPLETE

-- CHECKPOINT --

== Area Near the Lookout Tower ==

Well, it seems that we've finally given Melissa the slip. Pick up the
sledgehammer from the bucket to the right of the ladder of the Lookout Tower
then climb the ladder.

[ ] Goal: Knock out the Maggot Shibito.

[ ] Sub Goal: Stick the Maggot Shibito with antennas.

Heh, it seems like I spoke too soon earlier. The Melissa maggot shibito will
see Sam from a rooftop up ahead. You need to step down the Lookout Tower as
soon as possible since Ms. Gale will toss debris at her ex soon, and you'll be
a total sitting duck in the tower.

The objective now is to impale the Melissa maggot shibito with an antenna
weapon. There are several antennas in this area at different locations so
you'll have quite a few opportunities to hit her with one. While stepping away
from the Lookout Tower to the east, look on your map and you'll see a path
along the rooftops that has antenna icons labeled on it. Move toward the
rooftop path from the current rooftop to leap over to the east rooftop. Pick
up one of the three antennas off to the right. Sam will automatically enter a
targeting mode, so just line up the cursor on the screen along with the maggot
shibito below and toss the antenna at her. Sam doesn't toss these a very long
distance, so she needs to be sort of close. If she throws something you can
usually cancel the object by throwing an antenna at it to knock it out of the
air. Canceling an antenna throw will make the current antenna disappear, so
you really don't want to do this.

You'll have to move to the rooftop to the south then head east to find another
set of antennas followed by another set further to the east eventually. Keep
chunking antennas at Sam's ex until you stick her with about three of them -
they stick out of her as she walks if they hit. If you drop below, then step
up to the area behind the building to the south of Tomizu's Cigar Shop and find
the red barrels on the southwest side then climb on top of them to get back to
the roof. You'll have to drop below eventually if you run out of antennas.

There is nothing in the room through the gate to the far southwest, so don't
even worry about it this time. In order to reach the north portion of the
rooftops, you'll have to find the ladder along the building to the south of
Tomizu's Cigar Store. The ladder is on the southwest end of that building.
Climb it and you'll have another assortment of antennas to toss at Melissa.
Fall off the northwest end of the building to land on Tomizu's Cigar Store
rooftop for even more antennas. Remember to aim carefully and hit her with
about three of them.

Once three antennas are stuck into the Melissa maggot shibito then a cutscene
will trigger.

[X] Goal: Knock out the Maggot Shibito. COMPLETE

[X] Sub Goal: Stick the Maggot Shibito with antennas. COMPLETE

-- CHECKPOINT --

== Smokestack Area ==

[ ] Goal: Protect Bella Monroe at all costs.

[ ] Sub Goal: Wipe out all of the Spider Shibito.

Bella will be chased down by spider shibito as this segment opens. This
portion can get very hectic quickly but it can be over just as quickly if you
know how to approach it.

As control is given to you, turn directly around then grab the double-barreled
shotgun as it falls near Sam. The shotgun is your key to finishing these last
few objectives and completing the chapter. If you look up on the rooftop to
the east then you'll see Bella up above. What you have to do here is to keep
the spider shibito from climbing up the side of the east building. If one of
them climbs all the way up the side then it will corner Bella and she will die.

You'll have to put up with plenty of spider shibito at one time, but keep
blasting and reloading and you'll finish this chapter. The spider shibito that
climb the building in the east should be shot before any spider shibito that
attacks Sam most of the time since they are the number one priority here. One
of the spider shibito is Sol - he's not any different from the others, but I
just thought I'd point that out. One of the spider shibito will mention
something about being Bella's daddy at one point (I think it's Sol that does
this) - this usually happens when one steps up on the rooftop with Bella.

If you keep blasting them and knock them off the roof then you'll accomplish
this last set of objectives before you know it and the chapter will be over!

Character(s): Howard Wright
Mission Objective: Defeat Kaiko.

[ ] Goal: Defeat Seigo Saiga.

When Howard begins this chapter, he will automatically start out with a Hunting
Rifle in his hands. Howard will be forced to defeat Seigo Saiga at the
beginning of this chapter. Seigo is very deadly from close range since he
carries his double-barreled shotgun for the moment and he can also hold two
rounds without reloading while Howard can only hold one before having to
reload. Howard's hunting rifle has the gift of long range however.

At the beginning of this battle, run around the side of the school bus off to
the left to immediately get out of Seigo's view. Find an open area that is far
away then run to that destination. Turn around and get the school bus in your
sight then aim with the hunting rifle and zoom in on the bus. Wait for Seigo
to step out into view then begin to shoot at him. You may have to get slightly
closer, but you can shoot him from a pretty good range. He will lose sight of
Howard quite a bit and sometimes he will seek cover behind an object whenever
Howard shoots him once. When he takes cover, simply aim at the area where he
is hiding and wait for him to step out then shoot him. A lot of times, he will
simply allow Howard to shoot him while he continues to search. Be sure to use
up and down on the D-pad to zoom in and out.

It doesn't do any good to hide and sight jack him. Sure, you can sight jack
him to tell his location, but you can't aim while sight jacked. If you spend
too long away from him without any form of interaction (such as you shooting
him or him seeing you) then he will sight jack Howard and immediately run
toward Howard's location. Sight jack does not help out at all aside from when
it activate once he has caught sight of Howard, so I wouldn't recommend using
it that much. Once he has been shot about four or five times, a cutscene will
play.

If you can manage to hit Seigo in the head about two or three times during
either the first or second battle with him, then he will drop the ++ARCANE
HOMURANAGI SCROLL (#48)++. Run over to it once it falls below him then grab
it!

-- CHECKPOINT --

Seigo will arm the Homuranagi sword after the battle and now you must defeat
him once again with your hunting rifle. Seigo will still be in whatever
location he was formally in directly after the after the cutscene, so if he is
still at a distance then shoot him. If he manages to kill Howard then both you
and him will start out next to the bus at the checkpoint. If Seigo ever breaks
out into a sprint while moving toward Howard, then you better stop aiming and
haul ass to another side of the screen.

His sword will nearly kill Howard with one hit. In actuality, it takes three
hits, but the first hit will usually knock Howard down if it is his more common
wide range sword slash then Seigo will hit Howard again while he is on the
ground two times and kill him. See, basically a one-hit kill. He performs a
lunging slash and a group of three slashes in a combination. The lunging slash
is the most common attack, so always keep your distance. Get far away from him
and shoot him with the hunting rifle once again until another cutscene
triggers. He will still lose sight of Howard if you run very far, so just run
and shoot him while he searches for Howard.

You can actually back up and shoot him from close range, but this does not
always work since he will sometimes still get too close and will certainly
knock Howard down at that time since he will have to run to get close to him,
thereby attacking with his wider slash. He can be beaten this way, but it is
so much easier to run away from him and shoot him from long range while he
looks for Howard.

-- CHECKPOINT --

Once the third battle begins, Howard will be armed with the --URYEN (#50)--.
This battle is simple. All you have to do is get some distance between you and
Seigo then hold the L1 button to aim the Uryen and press either of the attack
buttons ([] or R1) to finish him with a burst of blue flames! Another cutscene
will trigger once Seigo is defeated.

[X] Goal: Defeat Seigo Saiga. COMPLETE

-- CHECKPOINT --

[ ] Goal: Defeat Kaiko.

This is truly the final battle of the game this time. Howard will be armed
with Seigo's --HOMURANAGI (#36)-- at the beginning of this battle, which should
complete your archive weapon collection if you've been following this guide
fully. Congrats on that!

This battle has a major trick to it, which you should really find on your own.
Miyako will talk to Howard while Kaiko (the bug thing) is on the screen.
Miyako is actually giving the player hints as to what to do at this part.
Here's a list of them:

a) "I'm here by your side. Together we can find the vessel."
b) "You must use my sight to find the vessel."
c) "I can see it. The source of its power is close."

With the way this game has gone so far, I'm really surprised that she hasn't
flat out told Howard what to do really. I was expecting her to say something
like, "Howard, activate sight jack and lock-on to my vision. While looking
through my eyes on the right side of the screen, walk toward the relic. Press
X when the 'Purge in fire' command icon appears to accomplish the first sub
goal."

[ ] Sub Goal: Destroy the relic.

She doesn't say that though... Alright, I'll quit being a smartass and explain
it in plain English. All you have to do is activate sight jack then find the
only target on the screen and then lock-on to that view (it's Miyako's view).
Look at the right side of the screen while locked-on and move toward the
glowing relic in the distance. Once Howard gets close enough to the vessel, an
action command will appear. Press the X button to "Purge (it) in Fire" and
destroy the relic. If Howard doesn't find the relic fast enough then a
cutscene will trigger and he will be sucked through a portal, then the battle
will resume once again like normal.

[X] Sub Goal: Destroy the relic. COMPLETE

Now that the relic has been destroyed, Howard can actually hit Kaiko. Hitting
her can be a little hard since not all the bugs that appear on the screen are
real. Some of them are simply images. Sight jack Miyako once again - she is
the only sight jack available - then lock-on to her. The Kaiko in her vision
is always the true Kaiko, so focus your attacks on that one. In order to hit
her, hold the L1 button to aim with the Uryen then press the attack button to
summon forth a burst of blue flames. Run up the flames then quickly slash them
with the Homuranagi sword. The sword will produce a flame wave and it will hit
whatever is in front of Howard. If the flame waves hit the real Kaiko then the
bug will fall apart and fall to the ground up in front of Howard and it will
not disappear like the images will. After you hit Kaiko enough with flame
waves, Miyako will quickly tell you to finish off Kaiko and a new Sub Goal will

Cutscene chapter (non-playable)

++SAM MONROE'S JOURNAL (#49)++ and ++PORTABLE MUSIC PLAYER (#50)++ will be
received after the ending cutscene.

The "Results" menu will now be listed up under the title screen menu now as
well and there is a new "Challenge" mode that can now be played while starting
a new chapter. You can use this mode to get your best times on a certain among
other aspects - making it through stealthily, etc.

Hint: If you want to fully understand the basic story of the entire game, make
sure that you read archive file #49 (Sam Monroe's Journal). It basically
explains the full story and it's very interesting! The main journal entry
lists Sam's thoughts as he lands in Hanuda during 1976 as the ending cutscene
plays and the "31 summers have come and gone. The summer of August 2007 is
once again approaching, and with it, that fateful night." phrase provides a
good explanation of the identity of the individual described in the details
section of the archive file. The details portion sort of gives closure to
Sam's story - the fate of his future self.

To understand more of the Siren: Blood Curse story, be sure that you have read
Local Guide to Hanuda Village (#15), Amana's Diary (#16), Holy Scroll - The
Gift - (#24), Miyako Offering Hymn (#27), Holy Scroll - Ouroboros - (#30),
Message from Sam Monroe (#46), and Legends of Hanuda Village [mainly the
details] along with #49 as mentioned above. The latter files are easier to
understand once #49 has been read. This is just a spotcheck through the
archive though, you should really take a look at all the files in the archive.
Just in case you didn't notice, archive file #46 is actually sent to Howard
from the future Sam Monroe - this is further enforced when Sam Monroe responds
with "I don't know what you're talking about" when Howard says "So you're the
one that sent me this letter" during the Chapter 1 cutscene of Episode 12.

It's worth watching the ending again after reading the files also if you were
confused, along with watching most of the cutscenes all over again. Now you
can look back at the cutscenes with the knowledge of what is truly happening
and really enjoy them more!

                                 SPECIAL TASKS [SP00]
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

These special tasks are used to unlock an archive file later chapters. There
are only 6 archive files in this release of Siren that must be unlocked through
performing a certain task. You must perform the tasks as listed in order to
gain access to the unlockable file in a later chapter. If the tasks are not
performed then your way to the unlockable file will be blocked by some sort of
means - door that is locked, cutscene that will not play, etc. The task
performed will be saved onto your main memory at that instant, so you do not
have to perform it gain even if you die or exit back to the title screen
shortly after performing it. Basically, you don't have to finish a chapter to
keep credit for performing the required tasks.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

01 -- CAN OPENER

Unlocks: Archive file in Episode 7, Chapter 4
Location: East Shaft Upper Level (Pumping Station)

In the Miner Office, interact with the phone and dial "508". A Shibito in the
upstairs mine will unlock the previously locked door and answer the phone and
you'll hear him on your end of the phone. When you move up to the top of the
mine (East Shaft Upper Level) finish off the Shibito in front of the elevator
shaft by knocking him into the shaft then enter the room (Pumping Station)
through the open door on the left. This item will be on the shelf to the left
as you enter the Pumping Station room.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

02 -- FLOODGATE VALVE

Unlocks: Archive file in Episode 6, Chapter 4.
Location: Episode 3, Chapter 4

After pushing down the tree to make a bridge, step across it then you'll come
to a split path. Take the right path with stairs and defeat the shibito that
roams the path. There is another path on the side of the path that you just
moved down. Walk down the new path to find a valve handle on a device.
Interact with the valve handle to turn it and lower the floodgate in order to
unlock the archive item.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

03 -- DESTROY BOWL OF NOODLES IN THE KARIBNA NOODLE SHOP

Unlocks: Archive file in Episode 7, Chapter 2
Location: Episode 4, Chapter 2

While on the Lookout Tower with Seigo, quickly shoot the shibito that attacks
Sam then climb down the ladder and defeat the flying shibito. Run all the way
over to the Karibna Noodle Shop. Seigo must make it to the noodle shop before
the policeman shibito eats the bowl of noodles. Walk over to the bowl of
noodle and be sure to collect the Hanumen Noodles archive file then aim your
gun at the bowl of noodles and shoot the bowl to destroy it and fulfill the
requirements for an archive file in Episode 7, Chapter 2.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

04 -- OBTAIN PUMPING STATION KEY, ACTIVATE WATER PUMP

Unlocks: Archive file in Episode 11, Chapter 2.
Location: Episode 8, Chapter 2

During the first gameplay portion with Sol, while exiting the lower portion of
the mines after knocking out the female shibito with your trusty camera, enter
the last corridor to the north, beside the ladder that you need to climb to get
to the second floor portion of the mines, and you'll find a shibito that is
drinking. Sneak up behind him and hit him with the camera to activate a
special kill. Pick up each of the sake bottles in that area and move with each
of them in hand until you hear a slight jingling sound. Once you hear it, hit
the bottle against a wall to break it then pick up the Pumping Station Key.

Once you are given control of Sol once again, after the Sam gameplay portion,
move out of the elevator and unlock the door to the Pumping Station off to the
right, outside the elevator. Run to the back right of the Pumping Station room
then choose to drain the water at the controls and this will drain the blood
pool below and unlock an archive file in Episode 11, Chapter 2.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

05 -- TURN VALVE HANDLE ON ROOFTOP THEN COLLECT KEY IN COURTYARD

Unlocks: Archive file in Episode 12, Chapter 2
Location: Episode 8, Chapter 4.

At the very beginning of this chapter, tell Bella to wait on the third floor
then take Staircase A up to the roof. Climb the nearby crate and step onto the
roof portion with the Water Tank. Turn the valve on the Water Tank then
continue through the chapter like normal.

Once you pull the parking sign away from the front of the sliding doors after
the power has been turn on, have Bella follow Melissa to the outside courtyard
of the hospital. Lead Bella over to the gated area to the right of the
Employee Staircase. A cutscene will play where Bella will find a key in a
drainage opening and this will unlock the method for obtaining an archive item
in Episode 12, Chapter 2.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

06 -- COLLECT HANUDA BEETLE

Unlocks: Archive file in Episode 11, Chapter 4
Location: Episode 10, Chapter 2

(Note: You must get archive file #40 in the same game along with #41 since #40
is required to get this #41. If you die before getting #41, then you must
collect #40 again.)

Once outside of the Ito House, run over to the Detached Room on the west side
of the area then open the sliding door and pick up the !!CLOSET KEY!! from the
drawer off to the left after you enter the building. Run back toward the
"Entrance" of the Ito House as labeled on the map and stand in front of the
doorbell for a "Ring Doorbell" command. Sight jack momma shibito then ring the
doorbell whenever she stares at the TV in the living room. Quickly run over to
the west wall of the Ito House outside the Kitchen. Momma shibito will soon
storm out the south door of the Kitchen and quickly look around to see if
anyone is near the doorbell.

Stay crouched near the west end and quickly enter the house through the kitchen
again. Quickly step up on the first step in front of the stove and turn to the
right. If you timed the ringing just right, then Papa shibito should pass by
the kitchen in the outside corridor and move to the right. Crouch then walk
down the corridor directly ahead to the east. Break out into a run once you
make to the corridor outside the Altar Room. Run to the Storage Closet and
quickly unlock it. Move toward the shelves directly behind the door and pick
up the ++INSECT CATCHING KIT (#40)++ then run back to the kitchen door and
crouch walk once you get to the corridor outside the living room. Enter the
kitchen again then move out of the Ito House once again and run to the left.
If this is all done quickly enough, then Mama shibito will still be checking
out the Detached Room while Bella is exiting the Ito House. Archive file #40
and #41 must be received in the same game, so you can't afford to die here. If
you die then you'll have to gain archive file #40 all over again to get #41.
Keep in mind that momma shibito will now exit the house every now and then to
answer the doorbell from now on since you disrupted her pattern.

Find the pool of blood in the southeast end of the outside area and walk to the
southwest side of that pond and face the further tree to the south on that side
to get a "Use Insect Catching Kit" command. Perform the command then run to
the north end of the Ito House outside portion and stand for a few minutes.
Run back to the trap after a few minutes then examine it to trigger another
cutscene in which Bella will gain the ++HANUDA BEETLE (#41)++ and this will
also complete a key step for gaining an archive item in Episode 11, Chapter 4.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Archive files may obtained by checking certain areas or performing certain
tasks throughout gameplay. Some of them may only be accessed by performing a
certain task in an earlier chapter. These have an "Extra Requirements" listing
up under them. Once a file is obtained, the file will remain under the archive
menu no matter if you die or exit out of the chapter, so you don't have to
complete a chapter in order to gain an archive file.

Condition: Check on top of the desk.

Episode: 3
Chapter: 2

Right before using the intercom to activate the cutscene that plays halfway
through Chapter 2 of Episode 3 move up to the third floor via the staircase.
DON'T move out onto the third floor right away since a nurse shibito paces back
and forth on the third floor. Crouch on the stairs and sight jack the nurse
shibito that prowl the third floor hallway. She will move back and forth
between Room 303, the outside walkway in the northwest and the Nurse Station.
It is best to keep her sight jacked while you move on this floor. She CANNOT
see Bella if Bella stays crouched near the bottom of the stairs, so use that
location as your lookout point for studying her movements.

Your main goal is to get into the Nurse Station which is always locked except
for when the nurse shibito opens the door. She will always close the door
behind her while leaving though. Wait for the nurse shibito to walk out to the
outside walkway or enter the nurse station then quickly walk over to Room 301
and open the door then enter Room 301. There is a nurse call button on the
table inside.

Walk toward the button to get an action icon then press the button to call the
nurse toward the room. Hide under the bed on the right side of the room. The
nurse shibito will walk toward the room and peer into the Nurse Station to see
the nurse call going off then suddenly she will run into the Room 301 and turn
it off. She will leave the room and close the door then walk to the Nurse
Station. She will always enter the Nurse Station after the button is pressed.
Quickly open the door to Room 301 but don't exit. Turn around and wait for the
nurse shibito to enter the Nurse Station (watch through sight jack).

Once the nurse shibito enters the Nurse Station, press the nurse call button
again. Quickly run out of the room then return to the staircase and wait near
the bottom. The nurse shibito will leave the Nurse Station but she will leave
the door open! Wait for her to run toward Room 301 then quickly run into the
Nurse Station. Pick up the Hospital Patient's Letter from the desk in the
Nurse Station then run out. Quickly return to the staircase and move down it
or you could run to the outside walkway and fall through the opening in the
floor on the right side to land on the outside walkway of the second floor.

25 -- THE GOJAKU GIANT

Character: Howard Wright
Date: August 4th/8:00
Location: Hanuda Mine/West Shaft Level 3
Condition: Dig through a wall with the shovel.

Episode: 6
Chapter: 2

There is an extra archive file in the area where the pursuer shibito stands (up
the ladder) inside the mine. To save a bunch of time, intentionally die so you
can start over where Howard first got the Siren key and run up the stairs to
the right and collect the shovel from the body of the shibito with the blue
shirt then return to the Mining Office - the shibito with the shovel will
always appear up the stairs to the right regardless of where you knocked him
out once the checkpoint is used. If you want to get this archive file, then
run back into the Miner Office directly after sounding the alarm. Stand in
front of the back door on the north side and allow the pursuer shibito to run
up the stairs then outside. Crouch and walk to the stairway then move down the
stairs. He will not move back down this tunnel. He will stay outside the
Mining Office from now on.

Run through the doorway in the basement then move down the mine corridor. You
need to get the shovel weapon in order to get the archive file, so if you don't
already have it then return to the mining tunnel below the current one via the
ladder down the left path and run down toward the East Shaft Level 2 and knock
out the shibito with the blue shirt and take his shovel. Return to the upper
level and run back to the West Shaft Level 4 area (below the ladder where the
pursuer shibito was standing).

Climb the ladder and step up to the area where the Pursuer shibito was standing
earlier. Run to the wall directly across from the ladder then move to the
right just a bit to get a "Dig" command. If you don't have a shovel, then you
will simply get an "Examine" command here. Press the X button with the shovel
equipped to trigger a cutscene. Howard will receive The Gojaku Giant archive
file after the cutscene.

You DON'T need the shotgun to defeat the pursuer shibito. All you need to do
is outsmart him and maybe use your hunting trap. Return to the stairway of the
Mining Office and sight jack the pursuer shibito. He will be the shibito that
keeps stopping and saying "Hm. What's that?" He will move to the Siren
Control Room, the front of the tunnel where he was at the beginning of this
chapter, to the south door of the Mining Office, and to the east door of the
Mining Office then repeat this sequence.

He will stare inside of the Mining Office, so be sure to stand in about the
middle of the staircase to avoid detection. To defeat him, sneak up behind him
once he enter the Siren Control Room or stands and looks down the tunnel. You
can also set a trap on the south end of the mining office then intentionally
allow him to see Howard through that door. He will stand and attempt to fire
then aim toward your location. Run back to the middle of the stairs and he
will eventually enter the Mining Office and get caught by the trap. Run back
into the Mining Office and beat him down with the shovel!

38 -- BERMUDA 3 RECORD

Character: Bella Monroe
Date: August 4th/0:00
Location: Ito House/Daughter's Room
Condition: Check the stereo.

Episode: 10
Chapter: 2

This archive file is located in the Daughter's Room, so hide in a hiding place
in the Spare Room and wait for the daughter and papa shibito to go downstairs
then enter the Daughter's Room.

Walk over toward the shelves beside the white guitar and pick up the Spool
Knitter archive file. None of the shibito will return for a good little while
once they have left. If you want file #38, then you're going to have to hide
in the closet of the Daughter's Room and wait for daughter shibito to enter her
room again. If you've noticed, she will turn on her cassette player and listen
to some music while she scribbles at her desk. In order to get archive file
#38, you must interact with the cassette player while it is on to receive the
file.

You must
crouch walk over to the cassette player, grab the Bermuda 3 Record archive file
and get back inside of the closet before daughter shibito turns back around.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

39 -- SPOOL KNITTER

Character: Bella Monroe
Date: August 4th/0:00
Location: Ito House/Daughter's Room
Condition: Check on top of the nightstand.

Episode: 10
Chapter: 2

At the beginning of the chapter, sight jack papa shibito and lock onto him.
Step out of the closet once he moves toward the stairs then crouch walk and
move up the stairs after him and enter the Spare Room off to the right while he
enter the Bedroom. Walk over to the closet in the Spare Room then hide inside
of it.

Wait for papa shibito to exit from the bedroom and enter the Spare Room. He
will lay down a key on the tall cabinet in the Spare Room then he will
eventually run down the stairs to the toilet. When he runs down the stairs,
step out of the closet then grab the Bedroom Key. Step back into the closet.
You could actually make a break for the Bedroom and unlock the door then leave
the house right now, but you'll miss an archive file in doing go.

While hiding in the closet, allow Papa shibito to return to the Spare Room.
Switch your sight jack between daughter shibito and papa shibito. When
daughter shibito finally leaves the Daughter's Room and moves downstairs, Papa
shibito will already be on the first floor and he will moving down the main
corridor on the first floor. Daughter shibito will be the last to leave the
second floor. When both of them have left the second floor, step out of the
closet then enter the Daughter's Room. You can release sight jack at this time
since you won't need it anymore.

Walk over toward the shelves beside the white guitar and pick up the Spool
Knitter archive file. None of them will return for a good little while, so
exit the Daughter's Room then unlock the door to the Bedroom using the Bedroom
Key. Crouch and walk past grandpapa shibito, who is lying in the bed along the
floor then step out the window on the east side of the Bedroom.

her room then ring the doorbell. Quickly run over to the west wall of the Ito
House outside the Kitchen. Momma shibito will soon storm out the south door of
the Kitchen and quickly look around to see if anyone is near the doorbell.

Move
toward the shelves directly behind the door and pick up the Insect Catching Kit
then run back to the kitchen door and crouch walk once you get to the corridor
outside the living room. Enter the kitchen again then move out of the Ito
House once again and run to the left. If this is all done quickly enough, then
Mama shibito will still be checking out the Detached Room while Bella is
exiting the Ito House. Archive file #40 and #41 must be received in the same
game, so you can't afford to die here. If you die then you'll have to gain
archive file #40 all over again to get #41. Keep in mind that momma shibito
will now exit the house every now and then to answer the doorbell from now on
since you disrupted her pattern.

the outside area and walk to the southwest side of that pond and face the
furthest tree to the south on that side to get a "Use Insect Catching Kit"
command. Perform the command then run to the north end of the Ito House
outside portion and stand for a few minutes. Run back to the trap after a few
minutes then examine it to trigger another cutscene in which Bella will gain

the button.

Seigo will be blocked off by a door that is sealed with a wire from the other

finally complete now!

*******************************************************************************

I can be reached at my email address, which is berserker_kev(at)yahoo.com, so
please contact me if you have any questions, comments, etc. Replace the (at)
with @. I don't mind receiving emails at all.

I do have a few guidelines however:

1) Give me a subject in the email, preferably one including the name of the
game. An actual subject looks damn sexy in my inbox compared to an
   unattractive blank subject line.
2) Read the guide over and make sure that your question is not already
   answered.
3) Please speak in English and attempt to use some correct grammar. This is in
no way meant to offend those that cannot speak English well. I have spoken
with some readers that claim they cannot speak English when, in fact, they
speak better English then some Americans. So basically if you "try" to talk
to me then that is good enough. :)

And last, but not least, if you found this walkthrough helpful, an email would
be most appreciated or you could sign the guestbook on my blog or give me a WUL
on IGN.

It is very true that I write these kind of guides as a hobby, but just that
little email that lets me know that I have helped someone always makes me feel
special for about five minutes. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone on the gaming
boards that you used a guide. ;)

Please not that my PSN and Xbox 360 gamertags are mainly meant for messaging
purposes. I may not always add/keep you as a friend if you submit a friend
request.

*******************************************************************************

"I AM WHAT THE GAMES HAVE MADE ME!"

My name is Kevin Hall. I'm 28 years old and live in the US, in a small town in
Mississippi. Ever since I was really young, I have been a huge fan of video
games since I was first introduced to them via the Atari 2600 and NES 8-bit.
My favorite gaming series is the Resident Evil series followed closely by the
Castlevania series. I'm a complete horror gaming junkie - survival horrors are
my main cup of tea. Capcom is my favorite video game company. They hardly
ever let me down when it comes to games with plenty of replay value.

I enjoy being creative and hopefully that shows in my guides, specifically this
one, since I have put quite a bit of work into it. Whenever I sit down to
write a guide, I truly get "in the zone" and my perfectionist nature takes
over. My constant goal is to impress myself with my own work and that is one
very hard task to accomplish since, well... I am never satisfied. I could
easily see myself writing guides like this for years to come. If any gaming
company happens to read this and needs a strategy guide writer then please
contact me!

My known aliases are Berserker, berserker_kev, and Berserker93, though
"Berserker" or "Kev" is preferred. If you ever surf the IGN Resident Evil or
Castlevania boards or the Arctic Nightfall boards then look for me! I usually
only post up info on my blog now however, but I still move between the listed
boards every now and then.

Here are a few other bits of information about me:
