6. Mega Weapons and the Battle System

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

=============================================================================
6.A Basics about the Battle System and the Megabuster
=============================================================================
In this section, I'll explain the basics of this new battle system that's
similar to the one in the first game. In this game there are two main ways of
attacking; battle cards or your Megabuster. This section, as obviously denoted
by the name, shall focus on the megabuster aspect of battle. The Megabuster is
Mega's built in weapon of doom, involving 3 aspects as described above. To fire
the Megabuster, press the B button, too invoke rapid fire, hold B, and of
course, how fast you fire is dictated by the rapidity stat. The damage of each
shot is determined precisely by the attack stat.(So 1 attack = 1 damage, etc)
Then there's charge shots, quite unique really, as they can only be used once
the Megabuster is fully charged, to charge you cannot fire or use chips for a
certain amount of time, of course, how long this takes varies on your charge
stat (and once fired resets your charge time). Then there are tribes, tribes
mainly impact your cards and elemental affinity, but they also affect your
buster too. A normal, non-tribe charge shot does 10*atk stat, and a regualar
buster shot. A Ninja's charge shot throws a volley of 3 invis piercing, wood
element Shurikens, each doing 5*atk stat.Then there's Zerker's charge shot,
an electrical shockwave down the column charge shot doing 5*atk stat that
paralyzes. Saurian's charge is a fiery slow cannon-likeattack that fires down
the row, hitting first obstacle and the row behind it doing(10*atk stat)+20.
Double tribes use the second tribe's charge. And lastly, tribe king does 3
elemental sonic booms, one of each tribal element, each spanning a row and each
hit doing 10*atk stat! Also, there are ability waves that impact your
megabuster, as such denoted by having charge in their name.
The charge V/Cross/Spread affect the normal charge shot's radius, similar to
Plasma Gun2/Gun3/Spread. There are also elemental panels, so when an enemy is
hit by an attack, that panel is changed to the panel denoted by the ability.
Also, since the Tribe King and Saurian Tribes hit multiple panels at once, all
panels it covers that instant are changed, very nifty, not to mention this also
applies to the spread ability waves for normal form's buster.
Also, if you haven't noticed, some Wave Command cards can upgrade your buster.

8.  Synopsis to the story

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Ok, the setting of this game sets approximately 2-3 months after the ending
of Megaman Star Force 1. After that long of a time, the main character of
the story adjusts to everyday life. One day, the main character and his friends
decide to travel to the technological hub of TK City, where they witness a
new device known as the Star Carrier at work.. The Star Carrier is able
to take radio waves and transform them into material objects, known as
Material Waves. While watching a movie, Geo and his friends witnessed
an attack by a mysterious man named Hyde, who partners with an
Unidentified Mysterious Animal, or UMA, named Phantom in order
to wreak havoc. After fusing with Phantom, Hyde becomes Dark Phantom
(ok name, I guess). When Dark Phantom is defeated by Mega Man, he
flees, and from that point forward becomes one of the game's first
main antagonists.

Dark Phantom is later revealed to work for Dr. Vega, a scientist who
is obsessed with reviving the lost continent of Mu. She has allied herself
with Solo (alter ego Rogue), the last survivor of Mu, and the UMAs to
achieve this goal.

9.  Walkthrough

+++++++++++++++++++++++

The real adventure....BEGINS!

     /====================\

9.A Welcome to 220X!

     \====================/

    First, choose which Tribe version you want to play. After that, you'll
prompted to input your Auto Brother's information into the Star Carrier
(they'll automatically be the version you didn't pick. Select their handle-name
and what generic NPC they'll be) You'll then automatically get you Star
Carrier. Afterwards, speak to the woman nearby and watch the
commercial ship hit the ground. After the bit of commotion, talk to everyone
and inspect the ship.Now you can go on air and into the Wave Hole that
appears and commence the three tutorials (battle cards, war-rock attack,
countering). After your quick ingame introduction, and some useless
emails to reiterate, become a solid being again and walk back to the ship
to automatically check it. Now talk to everyone and go over to the North
and inspect the propeller on the roof of the northwest house. Now pulse in,
grab the propeller, fix the ship, and speak to the movie producer to receive
free tickets. So now speak to your mother, pulse, inspect your TV, then talk
to your mother again (remember, radio waves can't talk to solid beings
so you have to pulse to talk to someone normally). Wow, long day,
go to sleep.

    Oh goodie, new day, rush over to the bus stop in town and choose
to go to Wilshire Hills. Use the elevator and then speak to
EVERYONE in the Hills(good luck with that). Head towards the
outside of IFL Tower and speak to everyone (You'll have to examine
the Sonia air display in order to start a conversation with the
fanboy And so forth, just ignore these for now

You’ll soon see a boss gate…

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kung-Foo Kid IF
HP=3000
Element: Wood
Abilities: Super Armor (Only when giant)

Look at Kung-Foo Kid for more details.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beat him, continue and you’ll see a gate requiring you to collect 100
standard cards. If you don’t have 100, run around the area and start
collecting!

When you do have 100, open the gate and make your way to…

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hollow IF
HP=2800
Element: Elec
Abilities: None

You should know the drill...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is one gate standing between you and Apollo Flame and it’s
a tough one: Collect all 150 standard cards!

Go buy from shops, do some virus busting, open green mystery data,
trade with friends, just COLLECT THEM ALL!!!!

YOU ALSO GET A TITLE MARK FOR
DOING SO! STANDARD COMPLETE!!!

Once you finally do, open the final gate…

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apollo Flame
HP=2400
Element: Fire no duh
Abilities: None
Attacks-

Scorching Blazer (Fire)-Magma constantly erupts from the ground

and attacks one panel to another throughout the entire battlefield.
Dodge: Step away and hope that you are not hit when invading his field.

Inferno Tempest (Fire)-3 twisters go down each column one at a time

leaving space for you to dodge (Cancels Barriers and Auras)
Dodge: Step away at the correct time

Darkness Over...err...Solar Flare (Fire)-Apollo Flame casts a
3x3 panel heat sphere and throws it at your side, exploding 9
panels including all of yours.Dodge: Ninja tribe-on’s AntiDamage
ability/Invisible card/Aura/Barrier Card

See! I told he was Bass…NOT! Bring some aqua chips and
douse him! Anyway, the constant Scorching Blazer is annoying
and serves as a distraction, so be careful. Watch out for your
barrier/aura because he’ll dispose of it with Inferno Tempest.
You need that barrier/aura if you want to dodge his Solar Flare!
Be cautious and you should beat him!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You defeated the ruler! Yeah! Your reward is like always,
a cut scene, and the Tribe badge (it is one of the 6 title marks!)
But before you leave, open one of the gates from before in
that area and you’ll get: Another Giga card!

Zerker-Rogue Break

Saurian-Hollow Magic

Ninja-Torrent Wave

Now you MUST pulse out at Echo Ridge's wave to receive an e-mail from Legendary
Master Shin who has a gift: ANOTHER GIGA CARD!

Zerker-MillionKick

Saurian-Normal+50

Ninja-BusterMAX

If you followed this walkthrough, you should have all the Giga Cards
earning you the right of opening another gate in Trans. Dimension 2
and another title mark! Giga Complete!
Now you can do anything you want! You can:

~Collect all HP memories, abilities, weapons, Indie Frags, mega cards,
star cards, and wallpapers

~Do all requests by accepting them in people’s star carrier

~Get the Mega man Battle Network buster and do the fun diary entries
by putting a BN game into the W-slot

~Challenge the IF bosses again by returning to the
Trans. Dimension!

But there is one last thing to do…

    After getting these title marks: Story Complete,
Standard Complete, Mega Complete, Giga Complete, and the
Tribe Badge. Head to Mu and challenge Le Mu again. You should
get an e-mail from Solo instructing you to level up all In-game Link
power bros [Bud,Zack,Luna, and Sonia] Do just that and head for Le
Mu, be sure to have collect all HP memories, built a strong
folder, and equipped your best Omega-Xis weapon/abilities because
you will definitely need them. Proceed to the final boss one more time…

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Le Mu Xa

HP= 4000 (O.O)

Element: None, but the Murians he summons do according
to their color.

Abilities: SuperArmor, Float shoes, Status-Guard

If you thought the other form was hard, then you’ll probably lose. >.<
Just kidding, or maybe not…Anyway with that much HP and higher
attack damage, it will surely be a challenging fight. He has stronger, but
the same attacks. You are stronger than you were the first time you fought him,
so if you try hard, you’ll eventually win. But a wave command card wouldn’t
be too shabby right about now.... Dark Phantom DX

19.  Link Force Level Ups

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

In this game, brothers give link power instead of abilities, regardless of
version (to determine how much you give, please refer to the Link Force Level
Ups section of the guide). As such, the maximum would be six real
brothers * 150 = 900, and the four in-game brothers can be maxed out to be 100
a piece, so 100*4 = 400, and 400 + 900 = 1300! What does link power do?
That's what this section covers. Along your adventures you'll come across
ability waves to power up Mega, whether it's Float Shoes or Quick Gauge, all
ability waves come at a cost, of link power. Your total link power only is the
maximum total, so you can always swap your set-up at any time. Though the next
sub-section covers the effects pretty well, some ability waves don't mix with
each other, like you can't have a poison grass panel charge or something along
those lines, I'll denote these as a group, and only one of a group can be
equipped. Lastly, if a brother band is cut and your abilities exceed max,
after you exit the main menu, Mega will FORCE you to correct it... Nice guy.
All I can say is good luck and try different things.

            |

21.  Side Quest Guide

+++++++++++++++++++++++++

WARNING- The following people mentioned in this section have been exposed to
Capcom’s lame pun name-changes...What? It’s true right?! You want proof? Raise
your hand if you agree...(Looks through the computer screen)...SEE I TOLD YOU!!!

Side-Quests are...well...OPTIONAL! Little mission requests you can access by
EM wave changing and talking to a person. Omega-Xis will ask you if you want to
look at their star carrier, if you pick yes, you’ll listen to an excerpt of
their life story and their problem. .<

Anyway, if you decide to accept a person’s request, Geo will e-mail himself a
little memo that tells you the overview of the quest. Then pulse out and talk
to the respective person. You have to pick either: “Star Carrier” or
“Something Else”

Pick “Star Carrier”, listen to them, and complete the quest!

HELPFUL TIPS-

1. It is recommended to finish all these side-quests after you have beaten the
game because that way you don’t have to worry about having access to something
or somewhere. This way, you can also do these in one full sweep!

2. You’re going to be doing a lot of tedious traveling via Sky Waves, so you
should get the Whazzup Key from the gold trucker located before the portal to
Loch Mess from Echo Ridge in the Sky Waves. It is only available once you get
halfway through Terra Condor’s scenario.

3. DON’T FORGET TO ALWAYS RETURN TO THE QUEST PERSON FOR YOUR REWARD AFTER YOU
DID WHAT THEY WANTED!!!

4. Some requests require a certain amount of link power. If you don’t have
enough and you don’t have access to human brothers then you must complete the
game and it’s extras, level up your friend’s link power to the max (explained
later below), and auto-brother. Sorry, Rogue-Users, but you can’t help people
because...well, you see...you shunned everyone out in the world for loneliness
& power and are now a menace to society! ^_^

All right here it goes!

Legend:

Question= Q
Answers= A

Q. How do people get those Le Mu and King Grandeur cards??
A. You can only get them by official transmissioning data (which isn't currently
available yet since I won't know if places like GameStop will do) or by
cheating, such as using the Action Replay DS.

Q. IT'S YOUR FAULT TO PUT IN THE WAVE COMMAND/AR CODES! NOW I CAN'T WIN
ANYMORE ON WI-FI!!!
A. That's not a question, so you failed. I am not to be held responsible for
whatever happens on Wi-Fi battling. The Wi-Fi battlegraounds of this game is
already way corrupted even before I made this FAQ.
