CES 2012: Netflix coming to PS Vita, Sony hopes it will be ready in time for launch

Sony came to CES and what seemed to be mostly on the company’s minds was its TVs, cameras, tablets, phones, and caged celebrities like Kelly Clarkson and Will Smith. Games seemed to be less on their minds, though possible future Sony president Kaz Hirai dropped some PlayStation info. On top of sales stats and listing some of Sony’s proprietary services coming to the Vita (Music Unlimited anyone?), Kaz then mentioned the movie streaming juggernaut Netflix was getting fast tracked for the device.

Following Kaz bragging that the PS3 was very popular with Netflix users in North America, he then noted that the film powerhouse’s streaming service was destined for the PS Vita. He wasn’t making any promises, but the goal is for the service to be ready for the February 22 launch. If they pulled it off that would be quite impressive, as it took the 3DS months to get that feature. Do you think Netflix will make the launch?

Why is Henry reporting on this? I thought he hated all things Sony? He was probably giggling like a school girl at the awkwardness that was Will Smith and Kelly Clarkson. The Sony press con wasn't that bad. That touch screen remote looked pretty snazzy too, and music unlimited is also coming to Vita on day one.

i think it would be nice if netflix made launch, but the fact no games were talked about for vita scares me.
