Take-Two has confirmed that GTA IV is still on track for release between February and April 08 in response to reports that the sequel will suffer further delays.
Last week, talk on the game's releasedate from Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick sparked speculation that the game wouldn't hit in thetime period previously stated by the companywhen it announced a delay to 2008 back in August this year. But itappears the wrong end of the stick was grabbed.
"I wasn't intending [it] to be newsworthy," Zelnick told Gamespot of his discussion of GTA IV's release date at the 2007 BMO Capital Markets conference.
"When asked about the release date, I confirmed the previous release date we'd given, which is our second fiscal quarter. That's to say sometime between the beginning of February and the end of April."
Zelnick added that Take-Two will announce a confirmed release date for GTA IV "as soon as we feel very comfortable that we know the exact date within that three-month period that we outlined".
