Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare E3 gameplay goes to outer space and blows the hell out of it

If you were wondering how Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's "CoD in space" concept would actually, you know, play, wonder no more: Sony showed off an extended look at the campaign, and it is definitely eye-catching if nothing else.

The demo begins in a warroom before our hero hops into a fighter ship and shot out into a Star Wars-esque dogfight. But CoD's famous "boots on the ground" design philosophy soon kicks back in, as the protagonist and his partner jump out of their ships and grapple hook onto a ship so they can blow things up all proper-like: with their bare hands. Well, their bare hands which are holding futuristic space guns.

It really is a sight to behold, and not just because of the setting change. The combat, from this early look, appears to be much more open and allowing of players forming their own strategies, rather than funneling them down a singular path. Of course, we'll have to wait until November to see the finished product.
